I’ve said this hundreds of times.. This man and Endtroducing completely changed the way I listened to and heard music. He inspired me to DJ rare cuts and to be fearless when doing so. I have so much respect for Shadow that mere words do not suffice. Mad love to you Josh.
It took 20 years between buying entroducing and seeing him ..I can't explain how excited I was ...it was worth every minute of that 20 year wait ...then I saw him three times in three different locations in one year each set had a different background sound ...dnb jungle ...dubstep ..all three sets were amazing ... It's been a pleasure having this man's music in my life
IMHO, this is Shadow's best set, ever and may be my favorite DJ set period. It's essentially the same as his infamous 'In Tune and On Time' @ Brixton Academy and I've probably heard it in full over 50 times. Like good Whiskey it gets better with age. Thank god for this DJ.
i dont' know what it is about artists i loved this era, of him i havent' been able to follow his new stuff i donna hwat it is but this was a special time, it just hit different i don't know what it is, and if it could be the same just to go back there
I was there. He was closing the festival. I think it was a Sunday and it was about 2am or maybe 3am. Usually, few people stayed until the very end (people getting tired, etc.). And here... well, just look by yourself. People were still dancing and hoping for more.
2x CDJ-1000(mk?), 2x Rane ttm-56, 2x Pioneer EFX500, 2x Technics, MPC 3000. Most of the actual music/beats seemed to come from the CDJs. Technics were used mostly for vocal samples/scratches. Technics were used to play beats occasionally as well. When you see him tapping it's for BPM for the effects units. I think he only used the MPC for the Organ samples. This is still some of the best DJ Gear you can buy today. All be it you can only get it 2nd hand now. Back then you could still buy (proper) Technics and a TTM-56 brand new. The build quality on the old CDJ-1000 series was also so much better than modern Pioneer horseshit that lasts a couple years at best. I wish they still made as high quality DJ Gear as they used to. Here is an example of what I mean: th-cam.com/video/i9WFeDL7uCg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=t0UP6OesRzsNyijj
As always, unbelivable set... love and admire this guy's work for years now ...this is a first time I saw him make a mistake on the organ donor part and felt sorry for him... but it's no disrespect, it's just that I myself feel so bad when I mess up during a set for 20-30 people, so I can't even imagine how he must have felt when it went wrong in front of thousands people. Big up Shadow, big up, pity you couldn't make it to your All basses covered event at MeetFactory in Prague. I was so loooking forward to finaly see you perform live... hope there'll still be a chance one day :)
No need! In the shorter festival sets he just played a short teaser of the song on the MPC pads, and like he says it's just a bit of fun and not a big deal.
Music with no time , music with soul , music with feeling of fucking trip. Just feel this , feel the fucking vibe of trip , this set recognises me acid...
is there a name for this set? i had an excellent video of this like 15 years ago on one of my hard drives. it was super clear in all regard but i cant remember what its called and i dont have that drive here....
@@kevinkirkland4577 you are correct, but i was thinking there was version of this set that was professionally produced using cuts from these venue sets. maybe not. my god, another 5 years past and that puts my memory of this video at 20 some years old now lol. who knows maybe this was the video i had at the time.
I haven't checked at track by track yet, but it seems almost identical to his official In Tune and In Time concert movie. I'm watching it the first time now and I so far only one or two songs is different.
There's some UNKLE in there, too, no? Wasn't that a duo, him and James Lavelle together? Either lying about just using his own stuff, or we now know what was his parts and which were JL's (not THESE ones). My faves from UNKLE on there, so kudos still to the mighty Shadow!
dj shadow is just great and in my opinion endtroducing is one of the most pure, touching albums.
+kapnista psarakia dekto

Private press good as well
