- 静岡県沼津市の禅寺「大中寺」を舞台にしたカルチャーフェスティバル「MUSO Culture Festival 2021」にDJ KRUSHが出演。大中寺の本尊不動明王と対峙するかの如く向き合い、渾身のDJセットを披露。
MUSO Culture Festival is a festival, held at Daichuji temple in Numazu City, Shizuoka, Japan. Within the temple, a conceptual live performance was filmed as if to experience the essence of Zen through sound.

The respect he shows at the very beginning is humbling. I was curious as to how a DJ set could reflect Zen and not seem out of place inside a temple....happy to have witnessed it.

The way he maximizes the capability of that Vestax PMC20SL is pure magic.
I first saw him in 95-96 at Smartbar in chicago, and he still brings the technique like no other DJ. A true turntablist, a master of his craft, and a major innovator in hiphop soundscapes since it was originally called triphop. Krush Kun will always be in my upper pantheon of beatmakers and Dj performers.

His approach to sound is a genre of its own. He must be studied in music schools. And he still uses this model of Vestax mixer. We are blessed to live in his time.

A real master. That mixer is actually super interesting, it's a vextax PMC20SL which has an integrated sampler and delay. I think especially the delay is a big part of Krush's signature dubby sound. It sounds really good and is on the right hand side of the mixer.

I discovered Dj Shadow and Dj Crush around the same time, the mid 90’s. Glad I got to experience that era of underground expression embodied in it’s time and space amidst a flowering of electronica that would influence all of electronic music to this day.

Since pandemic, online streaming from various locations became norm but 99% Djs just play usually banging dance music in odd locations like temples, infront of buddha statute etc etc and only a few artists took this challenge to incorporate their music to match the environement like this Krush DJ set. First heard of Krush via the Scratch documentary around 2004. They used a clip of some otherworldly shit in one of his sets as an example of the future of alternative DJ styles. Nailed it.
