I first saw him in 95-96 at Smartbar in chicago, and he still brings the technique like no other DJ. A true turntablist, a master of his craft, and a major innovator in hiphop soundscapes since it was originally called triphop. Krush Kun will always be in my upper pantheon of beatmakers and Dj performers.
His approach to sound is a genre of its own. He must be studied in music schools. And he still uses this model of Vestax mixer. We are blessed to live in his time.
A real master. That mixer is actually super interesting, it's a vextax PMC20SL which has an integrated sampler and delay. I think especially the delay is a big part of Krush's signature dubby sound. It sounds really good and is on the right hand side of the mixer.

Since pandemic, online streaming from various locations became norm but 99% Djs just play usually banging dance music in odd locations like temples, infront of buddha statute etc etc and only a few artists took this challenge to incorporate their music to match the environement like this Krush DJ set. RESPECT!!

Back in 1999 when i was a freshman he had a show in seoul and i got his autograph on my backpack. I used it for years with honor. This is such beautiful work of art, krush san! Only the strong survives. And the survivor became a god incarnation.

I think 9ve commented before but the fact that this is in what looks like a buddhist temple and is the music that it is makes it one of my favorite things on youtube to come back to.again and again.the man is like bodhidarma bringing beats to the landscapes.
