incredible bits in your videos where like u rlly do be putting producers on to be competitive with their tracks being on no matter what genre honestly. i mean sometimes when ur just going over like a chain or w/e i peep all the maybe subtle settings that you have set haha. You make it look easy to make the most sick tracks people want to hear, but you can tell you've put your time in though in terms of like idk- you either got it or dont with being what people will undeniably fw your music and like idk just like you either have the drip with it or dont, just like some rappers just got/had that swag and like idk they just got it. for me perf example is early lil wayne music was... undeniably just badass to people and he was weezy f baby and that was that. but thank u for this channel it keeps me feeling like im growing and learning valuable skills in the art.

I like that trick with the sub to make the higher crunchier but isn’t that just somehow generating AM to the rest of the frequencies as the bass is triggering the ceiling first? I know there is also clipping from the soft clip involved but i get am impression maybe we might be able to come up with similar sound without needing the sub before and the high pass after?

Tip#2: You can do this, simply using Serum ou else similar; Use an Oscillator with White Noise wavetable and AM or RM w/ a very low octave Sine wavetable. :)
Or use an Auto-Pan plugin with its LFO set to audio rate modulation

just noticed you showed an example of a limiter with a compressor set to RMS detection (0:20!
if you want no peaks trough the compressor, you need to change it to peak mode, or else, you'll be letting some transients go trough because of a slower detection in the comp circuit.

Do you put the soft clipper on the master or can you route all the drums to a bus and apply the soft clipper there for the sub distortion effect ?

so for #2 (top crunch) you added distortion and cut out the lows for the sub bass. Wouldn't you be losing all the low end of the sub? or are you not concerned because the sub bass along with the white noise is now the (top crunch) layer?
Yes, it's only to get the crunchy noise layer without sub. There's a separate bass layer

9:12 - Just one tip is to cut the bass notes immediately when they end otherwise you'll get some yucky phase cancelation going on in the low end.

How does a soft clipper differ from a compressor? Could I do the same thing with Pro-C 2?
Soft clipper rounds up the waveform when it crosses the threshold and that saturates the sound. Compressor doesn't do that, it simply decreases the volume. Compressor will give you softer sounds. And you can't do that in Pro-C 2 as, as far as I know, it doesn't have a soft clip option
What Serum Skin is that? The purple and orange goes super Hard
so where do you get your samples from im just wondering. all of these professional sounding producers all use these really crisp samples and i have no idea where they get them

Can someone explain to me why layering kicks or drums and then using a limiter is enough? Couldn't you simply lower the level of both elements instead of use a limiter? Also, wouldn't you still have to EQ one out of the way of the other? Or not really?
Downward compression, you get more of the subtle sounds to peek through, lowering the level won't make the subtler parts relatively louder with respect to the overall sound

For me it’s LFO Modulation
