Dude when people ask me about Improving their production this is exactly what I want to tell them and you have explained it beautifully and in much more detail than me. A lot of these so-called production experts on TH-cam are talking out of their asses, just trying to package the shit that everyone who's serious about music production already knows with click bait titles. Tbh sound selection has been lost on myself since I'm using same sounds just for ghost productions and my own sound. Whenever I feel lost, I'll turn back to this video and remind myself how important new sound selection is. Thank you so much, Fikardo!

Totally agree about choosing the right sounds. The right ones can completly transform a track to a whole new level. I've had tracks that are going nowhere then swapped a sound and hey presto!
Oh man first 30 seconds sums exactly my most painful struggle in music production at the moment, haven't even watched the whole thing but Im all tuned in :)
EDIT: Ok saw the whole.. Layering is definitely very powerful full to get origial and full sounds. Only lately I started to layer in a more deliberate way. Still need a lot of "ear mileage" for improve on that.
