The Garabandal walking backwards says A LOT! It has never gotten Bishop approval and again THAT says a lot. Medjugorje always talks about "the fruits", I came back to the Church after attending a banned apparition (of course I did not know it at that time), the fruit came from Heaven not the fake apparition. God will make good out of bad. I was ready and I was given Grace! Glory be to God!!

The devil cannot supposedly show normal feet, annoy hide hooves? Which is why the Blessed Mother apparitions must show her feet in order to confirm this is not demonic in origin. (But now with AI who knows?) I get the reason for looking to signs after Miracle of the Sun and .withholding of 3rd secret and then Our Lady of Akita, which is approved And Eucharistic Miracles. No, you are right to alert us. I have personally heard of these missed deadlines interfering w former Catholics considering getting back the faith. It’s a fair warning bc there is so much out there. Jesus said to be sober and alert to deception, (but not to dismiss all).

I have people constantly shearing private revelations with me. One of the thing I’ve noticed is how much anxiety they cause even if the person flowing the private revelations would never say it’s given them anxiety. The only anxiety we should have is if we aren’t living in a state of grace, and as our priest always says loving The Lord in simplicity of heart.

In the past, I've caught myself placing too much emphasis on private revelations. Now, any private revelation I pursue is always subordinate too Tradition. @@Kevinakletva I was converted by private revelation. I agree with what has been said in this video. Something that astounds me is that the approved private revelations of Our Lady are all a clear affirmation of sacred scripture. Just one example, in Mexico when Our Lady gave her name to St. Juan Diego, she did not say Guadalupe, its understood now that the Spaniards did not understand Our Lady's name. Our Lady at Guadalupe said, "I am She who crushes the head of the serpent." I find that amazing.

It was Our Lady of Fatima and St. Joseph who brought me back to the Faith. I am forever grateful to them for bringing me back to Christ. I personally don't believe in Medjugorje or Garabandal as being from God, but when I voice this respectfully I am usually verbally attacked by followers and told that I "must hate Our Lady", and this cuts to my heart because I love her so much. Just because I believe in the apparitions at Fatima, doesn't mean I hold it against anyone who doesn't believe. It would be nice if that respect could be reciprocated. Ave Maria.

My mother has been there like 15 times since the 80’s and all my childhood I heard about it and was surrounded by it and it has brought nothing but BAD to our family. Recently my mom went with my sister and my niece who was NOT in a state of grace, they saw some diabolically possessed people, it caused my niece to jump up and over her mother to get away(not natural), since home she sees demons and they just put her on a pill for schizophrenia. Your observations are accurate in that if anyone is chasing (for lack of a better word) messages "from heaven" that are not approved by the church instead of reading God's word, participating at Mass, Adoration, or praying the rosary daily, will easily be deceived.
We were going through a period in our lives where we were frightened. Listening to some things gave us hope or a healthy, sobering fear to stay right with our Lord.

Plus, Mary was correct about a second much worse world war, Russia spreading her errors, which included not only communism but divorce and rampant abortion. She was also right about offensive fashions: Just look at Hollywood. Look at the beach where most women are wearing bikinis (It’s like they’re walking around in a bra and panties to swim in. First of all thank you Kennedy. Love the orange shirt. Great to hear this message. It is extremely necessary. Good to see you speaking in person. It helps to solidify your message. Apparition chasing can become too easily a form of Idolatry which is sin. When we replace Jesus with anything or anyone, it is Idolatry. We can and should believe and honor Our Lady as The Mother of God and we can be very grateful for Church approved apparitions of Her sent by God for our encouragement and correction. But our eyes must always be focused on Christ first and foremost as He is revealed in Scripture and Tradition. As the Church becomes a battleground for heresy and confusion, we must look to what the Word of God teaches. Scripture is given to teach, train, extol and admonish. Too many chose to become ensnared by unapproved apparitions in order to avoid the call to interior prayer and to the ascetical discipline necessary to grow in the spiritual life. Sadly, many are attracted to apparitions of any kind like a magnet to a magic show. Dangerous for the soul.

If conversions happen there, it simply means that God is not bound by location. For those that seek Him with a sincere heart, conversions can and do happen anywhere. When I point out that Jesus is as near as the nearest tabernacle - and therefore Mary also by His side- they won't even respond. No, they have to get to Medjugorje again to get their fix. That doesn't mean anything. There was a similar Spanish "mystic" in the middle ages just before the time of St Teresa of Avila and this fake "mystic" also received "communion" on the tongue which was mysteriously transported from the hands of the priest across to her. Everyone believed her to be legit until she was condemned and later admitted that she made a pact with the devil when she was a young shepherdess.
The facts are that the Garabandal "apparitions" began with the kids committing a sin by stealing from their neighbor and some "prophecies" have already been proven false, like the "incorrupt" body of the priest who died but was later discovered to have completely decomposed.

@Jack D... Spot on! Almost forgot that looney moment & explanation given by the "visionary," and it's Not even one of the >serious< reasons why Medjugorie IS false.
Now, in all truth and fairness: great good+grace(s) have come to some people who went there OR even who just received the good parts of the "messages" into their lives. Literally, people have been converted-their lives changed utterly away from past sins in their lives. GOD is Not stingy. He genuinely reaches to people-even in suspect circumstances. Yet grace that's given to an individual person never means or proves that an alleged apparition is true.
Kennedy is beyond right in saying that one's Faith and his/her practice of It >must Not be dependant on an apparition.<
To the contrary, the more any practice, message or teaching has lasted through time (even many generations), AND >especially if it's attested to by miracles, credible witnesses AND legitimate authority/ies of the Church... then it shows up as truly from GOD. The gift of the Rosary IS such an example.
      † †
BTW, the apparition of Our Lady of >Las Lajas< is heaven-sent proof of the Divine origin of the Dominican Rosary. Truly amazing, in the league with the Tilma of Our Lady of Guadalupe; at Las Lajas, an image >penetrating into solid rock< shows Mary handing the Rosary to St Dominic while the Infant Jesus hands the Cord to St Francis of Assisi. (Geologists have bored into the stone meter(s?) deep and found that the pigments ARE the stone, nothing merely on the surface. Scientifically, it's entirely inexplicable-NO other such example known in nature! Like the Tilma of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the image of Las Lajas >is a continuing miracle.
Hello,...whether a person believes the details of the story + apparition of Las Lajas; whether one believes the miraculous healing attested to by multiple witnesses of a dead child brought back to life; besides all of that, bottom-line geological scientific reality is: >mother nature does Not go around fashioning pigmented stone into religious artwork depicting religious events. No way, no how!
AND it's also >theologically< significant: in effect it >IS Deeper-than-engraved< in stone that GOD Willed the Rosary to be given to the Church and the faithful. *Bluntly said: anyone that demeans the value of the Rosary OR denies its heavenly origin, IS demeaning Our Lady and Our Lord OR calling them deceivers.*
Personally, the craziest part of all this is that the whole thing is almost unknown even among Catholics. Essentially, GOD has used SOLID ROCK to prove the Divine origin of the mission both of St. Dominic and St Francis of Assisi; has used SOLID ROCK to confirm the veracity of two major events in Catholic-and world-history yet the whole thing's almost unheard of!
Padre Pio said the Rosary is "the weapon!"
      St. Dominic pray for us.
St. Francis of Assisi pray for us.
Our Lady of Las Lajas pray for us.

The sad thing about that attitude is that crises that could have been averted through prayer aren't. Our Lady of Kibeho appeared to dozens of people pleading for prayers to prevent rivers of blood in the region. The apparition was only approved by the local bishop after the Rwandan Genocide had occurred. Just something to consider. While the Church through her local bishops has the final say, God gave us intellects to analyze such situations for ourselves, and if we are well-formed and not prone to superstition, it is possible to participate in God's salvific work through prayer as directed by Our Lady in these apparitions.
Edit - I am not endorsing Medjugorie or any other specific apparition. Reason and prudence is absolutely key to evaluating any supposed supernatural phenomenon.

I'm skeptical of it. Seems like a fake news story as garabandal was condemned multiple times.
Cardinal Seper, Prefect of the congregation For the Sacred Doctrine Of the Faith wrote this letter to Archbishop Philip M. Hannan of New Orleans, Louisiana on April 21, 1970:
"The Holy See share your perception about the manifest and increasing confusion due to the diffusion of this movement among the faithful and desires with this letter to clarify its position on the matter.
This Sacred Congregation despite requests form various Bishops and faithful has *always refused* to define the supernatural character of the events of Garabandal. After the definitive negative judgment issued by the Curia of Santander this Sacred Congregation, after attentive examination of the proceedings forwarded to this office has often praised the prudence that characterized the method followed in the examination but has still decided to leave direct responsibility for the matter to the local Ordinary.
The Holy see has always held that the conclusions and dispositions of the Bishop of Santander were sufficiently secure guidelines for the Christian people and indications for the Bishops to order to *dissuade people from participating in pilgrimages and other acts of devotion that are based on claims connected with or founded on the presumed apparitions and messages of Garabandal.*
However promoters of the Garabandal movement have tried to minimize the decisions and the jurisdiction of the Bishop of Santander. THIS SACRED CONGREGATION WANTS IT TO BE CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD THAT THE BISHOP OF SANTANDER HAS BEEN AND CONTINUES TO BE THE ONLY ONE WITH COMPLETE JURISDICTION IN THIS MATTER AND THE HOLY SEE HAS NO INTENTION OF EXAMINING THIS QUESTION ANY FURTHER..." (Emphasis added)

      More on this:
On October 11, 1996 the new bishop, Jose Vilaplana, again placed his prohibition on the alleged apparitions and said it is final.
"Some people have been coming directly to the Diocese of Santander (Spain) asking about the alleged apparitions of Garabandal and especially for the answer about the position of the hierarchy of the Church concerning these apparitions.
      I need to communicate that:
All the bishops of the diocese since 1961 through 1970 agreed that there was *no supernatural validity for the apparitions.*
In the month of December of 1977 Bishop Dal Val of Santander, in union with his predecessors, stated that in the six years of being bishop of Santander there were no new phenomena.
...The conclusion of the commission agreed with the findings of the previous bishops. That there was *no supernatural validity* to such apparitions.
At the time of the conclusions of the study, in 1991, I was installed bishop in the diocese. So during my visit to Rome, as limina visit which happened in the same year, I presented to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith the study and I asked for pastoral direction concerning this case.
On Nov. 28, 1992, the Congregation sent me an answer saying that after examining the documentation, there was no need for direct intervention (by the Vatican) to take away the jurisdiction of the ordinary bishop of Santander in this case. Such a right belongs to the ordinary. Previous declarations of the Holy See agree in this finding. In the same letter they suggested that if I find it necessary to publish a declaration, that *I reconfirm that there was no supernatural validity in the alleged apparitions, and this will make a unanimous position with my predecessors.*
Given that the declarations of my predecessors who studied the case have been clear and unanimous, I don’t find it necessary to have a new public declaration that would raise notoriety about something which happened so long ago. However, I find it necessary to rewrite this report as a direct answer to the people who ask for direction concerning this question, which is now final: I agree with [and] I accept the decision of my predecessors and the direction of the Holy See.
In reference to the Eucharistic celebration in Garabandal, following the decision of my predecessors, I ruled that Masses can be celebrated only in the parish church and there will be no references to the alleged apparitions and visiting priests who want to say Mass must have approval from the pastor, who has my authorization. It’s my wish that this information is helpful to you.
      My regards in Christ,
      Jose Vilaplana
      Bishop of Santander
      Oct. 11, 1996 (emphasis added).
Never, has any apparition received so many condemnations as Garabandal. And yet, to this day, some of the finest priests and Catholic layman still hang on to this Satanic Vision and promote it.

One thing I really struggle with in Catholicism (which is what I profess) is superstition, even amongst approved apparitions. Like the first 5/9 Saturdays/Fridays devotions. It honestly seems like a get out of hell free card. The words of Our Lady are crystal clear, "do X Y amount of times and you get to heaven." This does not seem to me to be from God. Yes I know that it is Catholic Church approved, but come on. St. Theresa of the Rose says if you plant a certain flower and it blooms purple, you're supposed to be a priest, if it blooms red, a married man. So what the heck is the point of discernment?! I have a real hard time buying into these approved apparitions/visions. Like how were they approved?? There were prophecies from Lourdes and Fatima that demonstrably didn't come to fruition (although many did). Even if 90% came true and 10% false, that would mean that it is not from God - God does not give even 1% false prophecy. My trust in the Church has so much diminished I often catch myself wondering if this is the actual Church Christ started. Lord have mercy, I simply want the truth. No Catholic seems to have any answers to these either other than "well you don't need to believe in private revelations." But that still doesn't account for the craziness that is official Church approval of these saints/revelations. If I say a certain prayer a certain amount of times I get to skip purgatory and go to heaven? I am frustrated at this stuff and am venting it out here. It doesn't make sense to me.

    • @thekingslady1
      @thekingslady1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

What prayer do you speak of that allows you skip purgatory after having said it x number of times??
In regards to the first 5/9 Saturdays/Fridays devotions the promise is that Jesus or Mary will come "...with all the Graces necessary for Salvation..." when one's time comes. Or something to that effect. Your soul still has to be in a state to receive those Graces. That would mean, ideally, being in a state of Grace. I believe that a person could have committed grave sin or grave sins right before they die and still be in a disposition to receive these "necessary Graces", so long as they had been ardently practicing The Faith prior. However if you do these devotions and then run off leaving a debauched life, your attempt at mocking God will not help you during your last hour.
The point of these devotional promises is about the obedience God wants from us. God wants man's obedience. When Heaven comes down to us and makes promises, the point is God is giving us a chance to break our self-will and do what He has asked us to do. He then pours out Graces through that channel of humility and obedience...Graces to save us in the case of the specific promises you mention.
Yes, there are heavily superstitious devotions and private revelations out there, but they are usually not approved.
If Private Revelations are making you stumble, then stay away from them. They are not necessary for Salvation. They are to help those who find them helpful. If you don't, stay away.
I don't see why what Theresa of The Rose said should be a stumbling block to you. It is one Saint spouting her pious opinion...*shrugs*
Finally in regards to prophetic messages of Marian Apparitions that don't come to pass. I do not know the specific prophesies you speak of, but Mary, in different Apparitions usually makes it abundantly clear that certain (usually catastrophic) prophecies can be avoided through Prayer, Penance and Sacrifice. Plus as far as I understand it, these Approved Apparitions are not a guarantee by the Church that there wasn't any demonic interference at all. That's not how these approvals work, as far as I understand.

@@thekingslady1 Visit to a Church or Oratory on All Souls Day. PLENARY INDULGENCE. A plenary indulgence, applicable ONLY to the souls in purgatory, may be obtained by those who, on All Souls Day, piously visit a church, public oratory, or for those entitled to use it, a semi-public oratory. A plenary indulgence removes all temporal punishment. This is just one example, but there are many that the Church prescribes to avoid purgatory.
The supposed apparition of Our Lady to St. Simon -"Whosoever dies wearing this Scapular shall not suffer eternal fire" - again, it clearly shows the Blessed Virgin saying clearly that wearing a brown scapular grants eternal salvation. She didn't mention anything about being in the state of Grace, going to confession regularly, etc. This vision was definitively approved by the Catholic Church. The fact that this was approved is what I have an issue with. I can't just pretend like these aren't granted approval by the Church.
St. Paul said test EVERYTHING. That's what I am doing. "Even if an angel of God comes and tells you something different than the faith I have taught you, let him be anathema." I don't think I got that quote exactly right, but that is the essence of it. Also, Christ said "by their fruits you shall know them."
      I appreciate your response.

    • @thekingslady1
      @thekingslady1 ปีที่แล้ว

@@martymcfly4464 Alright Marty, I think your struggle is with The Church...trusting The Church....trusting that it is indeed Jesus Christ giving us these instructions and directives. This is evidenced by you quoting Scripture...when Scripture came from The Church!
Indulgences are given to us by Christ through The Church to bring us back to a degree of or complete Baptismal Innocence or to help a specific loved one who has passed and is possibly in Purgatory or to help The Souls in Purgatory. It is Christ drawing from His own Infinite Treasury of merits and doling Graces out to help us. It is not "superstition". The Church has the power and right through The Keys given to Peter by Christ, to decree specific works and attach indulgences to it. The Church does what she is called to and supposed to do with its teaching on indulgences.
A good way to understand indulgences is that it is prayer applied to a soul, be it your soul or a deceased soul, which brings about some degree of Baptismal Innocence or complete Baptismal Innocence.
In regards to the Brown Scapular promise, again, the same Church that approved The Apparition has clarified to you that if you die with a Brown Scapular on, having lived a debauched life and not heeding to The Teachings of The Church, you may, due to the state of your soul, reject Mary when she comes to get you. The Church clarifies that the promise stands, she will come to get you out of the clutches of Satan, but that you might be the one who says no to her because of what is going on in your interior. Hence The Church says to continue to do everything one can to maintain one's soul in a status of Grace.
Another way to look at this promise Mary made - and this is the way I lean more into looking at it - is that a person who disregards making every effort to live a Holy life will not be granted the Grace by God to die wearing it anyways. I have heard true stories of this happening where people with hard-hearts and peacocky pride take the Brown Scapular off, shortly before they die. God will not be mocked.
It is very Protestant (a.k.a rebellious) to attempt to use Sacred Scripture to debunk anything The Church has said or has done. It is very short-sighted to do so.

This seems to directly contradict Catholic Dogma. ALL of revelation was given to the apostles (and their successors). There is nothing that we now know in terms of Divine Revelation that the apostles did not know. This is impossible. Nothing new can be revealed. Certainly, there can be private revelations and devotions that draw us closer to God, but nothing new can be Divinely Revealed.

    • @laurenfur
      @laurenfur ปีที่แล้ว

@@martymcfly4464 I do not see any contradiction. The special role of Mary is part of Catholic Dogma. And, quoting Fr Gruner: “The Fifth Lateran Council, which took place around 1515, defined a solemn definition of the Catholic Church which says that the final interpretation of prophecy is left to the Pope of Rome. There are three kinds of authentic revelation recognized by the Church. They are: the public deposit of Divine Revelation contained in Sacred Scripture and Holy Tradition; private revelations; and public prophetic revelations. To not believe in the public deposit of Divine Revelation is a sin against the theological virtue of Faith.”

I have become very weary of people sending me messages from all sorts of apparitions.

@@martymcfly4464 alright I think it is somewhat dishonest to say "the rosary is a private revelation...so it is not necessary". The Rosary is a combination of several things rolled into one. It started out as a Prayer of The Church that was amped and boosted by a Private Revelation, continued to be prayed by The Church as it developed (along with Mary in Approved Apparitions heavily endorsing it), and now has all kinds of Papal approbations and encyclicals on it.
This "the Rosary is a private revelation" stance sounds like a get-out-of-jail card.

    • @martymcfly4464
      @martymcfly4464 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@thekingslady1 No. I pray the Rosary every day. I have been for about 3 years now. Not using it as a get out of jail card. Definitely most of the prayers in the Rosary were around before the private revelation to St. Dominic. Nevertheless, the Rosary as we pray it today wasn't prayed prior to the revelation (at least I can't find any record of it). I believe even in the early Church, the "hail full of Grace" was prayed at least once a day. Eastern Catholics who don't pray the Rosary even say that prayer. And then obviously the Our Father and Glory be was said multiple times throughout the day. I like the Rosary, I am simply pointing out that very holy Christians prior to this revelation did not pray the Rosary, therefore it is not necessary. I am not bashing the Rosary at all.

I think that Fatima is the one true revelation because of the Miracle of the Sun that thousands witnessed. Also Lourdes and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Medajurue and Garbandal are not yet recognized by the Church. You can have many conversions but who’s to say that’s what the devil wants as it diverts pilgrims to the others and also causes divisions in the Church. Conversions can occur anywhere. So let’s keep the Churches view that no, we don’t have to believe in the personal ones.

Yes, we are apprehensive and expectant, "looking for signs from heaven". However, Jesus said that "no signs will be given it except the sign of Jonah". What did He mean? Matthew felt inspired to give interpretation of this `sign`: "The Son of Man will be three days and nights in the heart of the earth". However, I think Jesus' words in Luke's gospel are more typical: "As Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of Man be to this generation", and He said this in respect of the Judgement "at the coming of the Kingdom of God" (Lk 17:20-37), which will be "like the days of Noah and of Sodom. As Jesus says, "it will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed ...from heaven" (see 2 Thess 1:7). So I think we ought all to "stay awake!" and to "be ready!". And the best way to do so is to cling closely to our Lord, to obey His words and the Apostle's teaching.
