- Hector was a much more significant character than what the anime made him out to be. Not only was his very existence the sole reason for Sanctuary’s creation but he’s also one of the deadly sins that were never recorded into history. I describe Re:Zero as the story where everyone except the main character is a main character. One has all the cheats on, two are disgraced nobles, one who works under a proper noble and one who studied under a powerful magic user to eventually overthrow his family, one is adopted into nobility and works hard to earn his keep, one is an amnesiac with an absurd amount of power and mysterious lineage and upbringing, one is a classic Cinderella from slum-dweller to princess, one is a villainess, one is an alcohol-dependent idealist traumatized by the loss of their love, one is a country hick who gets found by a capable knight and decides to learn under them to strive for the top.

the way hector talks is also very similar to how the new roswaal talks, the way he extend his words, roswaal didnt talked that way back with echidna, something happened in sanctuary and im really interested to know (if anyone knows dont tell me, i want to hear it from the anime or read the novels myself if they dont explain it)

I think we are all blind, I believe every event action speech etc has is roll over the outcome of the story. For example what if all those actions Echidna has done such as the demihuman blood, sanctuary, her soul, the reiusu crystal girl even more what does the title of the series has to do with Subaru. Is Subaru the key to something big is that play What would become of the witch of jealousy after she is reales is it an entity pulling the strings to meet the desire fate as it wished for or is crazy of the mind twisted narrative story that we all perceive by the autor such as Deadpool killing his own autor in his comics in alternative but real life in that reality. May be I al beyond help of making any scenes as the saying goes “Simplicity over Complexity and Complexity over Simplicity” is Subaru de real danger out of all of the by the author manifesto Re:Zero as the title suggests :3

I’m guessing Hector has something important to do with how Roswaal is at the moment. Hector even has the weeeeird way of speaking at some point in his dialogue in this episode, in addition to the clown looking clothes he has.

One think the web novel did (not sure about the light novel) was the comparison between Subaru and Emilia when both made that pose whilst they pointed towards the sky and reaffirmed who they are.
I don't know about you guys, but to me that serves as a way to show how much they've influenced each other after everything they went through.
I really hope to find more of those moments while reading through the story, this arc definitely gives a lot of really good moments and also answers to questions the audience have been keeping for a while, wich probably makes this my fav arc of the series up until now.

@@goldenx8567 that was less that Emilia would go crazy without him and more that the trial broke her and she thought he abandoned her since he left without a word (as far as she knew). Now that she's faced her past and has this level of resolve, she probably won't break like that again.
I can really appreciate Subaru killing Juice more after this season. Juice was basically in a never ending curse that Subaru brought to an end.

Honestly Hector might be a good guy. Echidna and Roswaal both haven’t exactly been great people. He even showed mercy when fighting and when he tried to blow the house apart, he held back because he knew someone was inside.
What if Echidna is the reason Hector has the Melancholy factor and he wants revenge?

You know, Hector may very well be one of the people Echidna contracted and left behind as an empty shell once she got all she could from them. She may have done something that led to him becoming Melancholy. It would explain his remarks about her being cute _once upon a time_ (implying he no longer views her as cute, probably from being disillusioned by something she did that displayed her true nature as Greed.)

Subaru is actually more aware than what it is shown in the anime
This may be me overlooking this scene, but when Hector directs his palm towards the house Ryuzu is in, his expression changes, as if he came to a realization. I thought that he used his power on Ryuzu, which is why she was flat on the ground when Beatrice came in.
The reason his expression changes is because he realizes Ryuzu is not Echidna, his target and is not showing any resistance, which is why he stopped targeting Ryuzu afterwards (or was forced to stop by Roswaal's Al Goa).
I know that his authority should have destroyed the house Ryuzu was in if my theory were to be proven to be correct, but we really have no idea how Hector's authority works. It wouldn't be impossible if he could control it to the degree without destroying the house Ryuzu was in, but still forcing Ryuzu to the ground.
Always love seeing AniNews in the feed. Re Zero always has deeper layers to things seemingly overlookable.

Just a quick comment about his statement @ 0:10 Concerning their being a bigger mystery than we are aware of... I have read many Light Novels that have been adapted into anime by this point in my life, and I can tell you with absolute assurity that this one has the DEEPEST Rabbit Hole that I have ever come across! What I mean is Re:Zero gives you more mysteries, than it does Answers. In fact, the farther you go into the volumes, the MORE mysteries Pop up! And they are so subtle and sneaky with it that if you don't pay attention, you're surely to miss them, Because most times it does not go into great detail about it. They just may mention it once in passing And not talk about it again and that entire volume!

Theory: the sealed door may connected to other realities, such as some rezero if stories. Example:If subaru opens the seal, then it may be connected to other subaru from other realities. So he can see the other subaru from other realities from pride if, wrath if stories and that realities has infinite possibilities of events depends to whom who opened the seal. Maybe thats how satella transport to time. Imagine if subaru can see those other realities from sloth if and pride if vice versa, it would be awesome plot

My theory: Echidna merged Hector's soul with Roswaal's soul so that he wouldn't show a threat to her in the future, and maybe to save Roswaal from dying. I guess Roswaal was dying and a portion of his soul was lost, so she patched together Hector's soul with Roswaal and saved him maybe.

Honestly, I’ve been questioning if Satella even did kill the other Witches at all at this point. It would make sense if Hector was more involved with Echidna’s death than Satella. Not to mention, it wouldn’t exactly be hard for Pandora to rewrite reality to make the world think Satella killed the Witches, even if it was more of Satella coming to get their help to stop Pandora or some other threat. It also makes a lot more sense of why Echidna’s body is still in Sanctuary and her Soul is sealed away. Because if it was consumed by Satella’s shadows, how is her body and soul still around?

The one thing that still keeps me confused, but i hope to get expanded on in the near future is that Subaru and everyone that was killed in Satella's rampage in the first half of season 2 were all mixed into Satella's shadowy miasma thingy, making it so that the only way to fix everything was to turn back time with RBD.
Echidna was allegedly killed by Satella so why wasnt her soul consumed like everyone else's was in that episode?

So, There was a chapter in Web Novel not the Light Novel, in that Ch we found out that all the witches died in different ways like Sekhmet (witch of sloth) died as she fall in the Great water fall, Echidna did not die her body still remain in the Santuary and also she was sealed here by the Great Divine Dragon Volcanica the same dragon that sealed Satella in Desert.

What if in fact, you, the viewer have been fooled?? 🙃 You saw Pandora REWRITE events and history as we saw with Emilia past. So how much do you think she could have been rewriting since the arrival of Subaru in this world and even before that??
What if everything we've been told about Satella killing all the other witches... Was... Manipulated facts???? You should ask yourself those questions in that way 😜 The author is just pure genius to have us fooled everytime in this story. What seems to be in Re:Zero is not always what it truly is. Betelgeuse story for example is a brilliant example of that 🤭

In one of the more recent episodes about the trial (I think it was Garfiel's trial but could be wrong) Ram asked Subaru if he had met Echindina and his answer seemed to puzzle her. I wonder why that was? I know Ram is supposed to be Roswell's loyal servant. Is her trust wavering?

I don't agree with two points about the anime. I totally understood that melancholy didn't want to kill him, the anime did a good job of showing that he wished for roswaal to back off. And the second, it was pretty obvious that again Roswaal was trying to get Garfield to get agitated once he found resolve. I know I'm late but I watched it for the first time about 2 weeks ago. But thank you for the other cut content
