    Wow! No way man! I grew up in that house in the 90s. Looks so different. Sad to see what it has become... so many memories! That place use to be so beautiful, looked completely different back then. The cliff use to stretch out a lot further. My family survived hurricane George in that house. So many memories..... Crazy to see my old childhood room.... wow you have no idea what this video does for me and my family.. my mom and dad are freaking out right now.
    Thank you so much for posting this.

    Is there anything left of the base stables which was near the airfield? I fell in love with the Paso Fino horse during my time in PR. I even brought one home to TX with me when I left the base in 1993. She lived well into her 30’s. I have owned Paso Finos since my time there up until a few years ago. I was a nurse stationed at NHRR. Lived on 3A Nimitz Dr. Thank you so much for these videos!

      Hi, thanks for watching. The stables near the airfield are no longer there if there is anything left it would be hard to get to. Great to know you love the Paso Fino style 😊

    OMG, I lived in 30 Ranger Rd. When they just remodeled the house. Good memories. So sad to see the way it is today. My oldest daughter was in Kinder and the teacher was Mrs Trías. Awesome school and base. My youngest daughter was born at the hospital on base. We left in Oct 1992. 😢 No electricity for 1 month during hurricane Hugo and we had to go to the Galley to get milk for the kids, every day.

    The housing sure improved since I lived at 4 Cabot in the late 60s. We didn't have central AC. I remember some people put plastic sheeting over their windows and installed window units, missing out on the lovely (but yes, sometimes too hot) ocean breezes.

    I remember the first 10 years or so the base was in decent shape, what do you think accelerated the deterioration over the last 10 years, the hurricanes?

    • @spvideo68
      @spvideo68  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely hurrican Maria accelrated the current state along with the government procrastinating to do something with it. The houses are being worked on but extremely slow!

      At the moment there is no electricity nor running water so the desire to just invade the houses are not attractive and there is some security going on with checkpoints at the gates. BTW thank you for watching.
