I’ve missed you & Little Miss Sunshine! Good to see your smiling face. Those Greenstalks look amazing. When I first saw these, I was really skeptical about the amount of space in the pockets. However, everyone I have seen that are using these love them & things seem to grow in them very well. I may look into buying one. Thanks for the demo. I hope you’ll be back to making videos more often. You really brighten people’s days. At least, you do mine. Blessings on y’all & your homestead. Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸👍❤️😁🙏
You're so welcome Vicki! :) It doesn't look like much space but in 3 years of using this product I can guarantee it won't be a problem. If you do decide to purchase one, remember I have a coupon code next to the link in the description box! Thanks my friend! P.S. We're still enjoying lots of time at Lynn Meadows! ;)
So glad to see you again! I missed your videos. I'm not feeling well lately, so seeing your smiling face makes me happy. Please give Sunshine a big hug from me, and I'm giving you a big hug too, Amanda! God's blessings on you both & your blooming little farm.
@@HearthandDome Hello! I just got a green stalk planter and am more interested in the type of spinner base you have. Where did you get this? I have disabilities and the green stalk is on a bumpy brick surface. I am not seeing anything like this on Amazon. Thank you!
I got mine when you had the quick video out on them for sale. I love mine even though I got mine without a base. I planted peppers in it and they were late so when we got the first frost warning I had my hubs bring in the 2 tiers with the peppers. I found an oil pan from the hardware store that fit the base and the 2 tiers with peppers sitting in front of my french doors grew peppers for me over the winter. So now when it is warm enough for them to go back outside, I will have peppers well before anything else.
That’s wonderful Gail!! Keep in mind that you can purchase a base separately if you decide you’d like one. That spinner would be perfect to use in front of your French doors.
I have missed your smiling face. I love that Green Stalk planter. I wish that our little porch off out apartment got more sun. I would love to grow things in this planter. Thanks for sharing with us Amanda. God Bless You and Little Miss Sunshine.
It's a wonderful addition for apartment dwellers! You may benefit from looking for shade loving plants that grow in your area..? Thanks for watching Jemmie! :D
I just bought my first Greenstalk planter, and I opted for the 3-tier Original to get acquainted with the process. I also bought the spinner base. I appreciated the information you shared in your video and look forward to filling and planting in my new tower. :)
I got the pink one for mother's day and just put it together. I mixed garden soil with 1 bag vermiculite,1 bag perlite and one bag spagum moss. Ihad some extra soil from my delivery in spring so i figured amending it was better than buying 5 bags. I filled up my water reservoir and will be planting seeds this week. Ive wanted one a long time. I didnt even get a base because i wont move it and if i did i would have to take it layer by layer anyway to get it up and over the garage doorstep.
Looking good.Going to start planting in mine soon.I had bought another one when it was on sale.I also got 2 of the plant arms to trellis the plants like cucumbers and tomatoes.Looking forward to using them.I hope all is well with little Sunshine and your Family.Take care there and thanks for the video.Love,me&Honey kitty in dry Ca.♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡.....
I would love to get several of these for my greenhouse aisle. I'm a single homesteading mama too though, so it's on the list, but it might be awhile before it makes it to the top. So happy things are going well for you. Blessings to you and Sunshine from me and my little one the same age. 😊
I have 2 of these greenstalks but didn't have good luck. I think it may have been the soil. I will have to check into it more. Also I want the spinner bases instead of wheels
That looks really neat! I have a greenhouse here in MT because the growing season is so short and the deer are always so hungry. I think one of these might do well. Thanks for the tutorial.
@@HearthandDome I will be interested in how it works in MS. Growing up there it seemed to be really hot in the summer. Here in MT it rarely gets above 80 in the summer so a greenhouse works rather well. I will stay tuned to see how you set it up.
Amanda, a great assembly tutorial! I would see a big benefit for having the turn table base that can be adjusted (turned) for southern gardeners who raise winter plants with short sunlight days. Am supposing strawberries would do well also? Blessings! South Carolina
our GS came with a clear hose but no instruction on what to do with the hose. Can you tell me what the hose is for and when and how to use it? Thank you.
So glad to see you making videos again. I’m leaving my big country house, way to much to take care of for me at my age, and will possibly be moving into an adult mobile home park and I’m so glad I caught this video. I’m seriously thinking off buying the bundle that has three five tier planters because there is a patio and also a huge porch. I have one question, can you grow tomatoes like Roma in a green stalk or would I be better off growing them in grow bags? Also can you plant in the very top portion? I’ve missed your videos and hope all is going well for you and Little Miss Sunshine. Thanks for taking the tome to put out videos to help us learn how to live more sustainably.
Sunshine likes to munch on them in the yard! LOL I asked her to leave some so we can put them in salad and she reluctantly said that would be neat too.. haha!
This system is actually patent pending. There's nothing quite like it on the market because of it's watering system.. I hope your unit works well this summer! :)
Hi Joy! The link is in the description box in the second paragraph. I can’t copy the link on my phone.. There is also a coupon code there to save you a little cash. Thanks so much friend!!
Usually just Miracle Grow but whatever you're using on your other veggies would be fine. I just mix it up per the package instructions and water with that mixture once a week. Helps a TON!
You keep saying “dirt.” It will confuse newbys.” You are correctly using potting MIX. Dirt is in the yard. GreenStalk says to use potting MIX or potting soil. People think potting soil means raised bed soil or in ground packaged soil. They are too heavy. Use potting mix or a light potting soil adding perlite if possible. But don’t use dirt. 😉
Good job Amanda! 👊🏻🌻👊🏻

Wow, Amanda! I lost you for a long while somehow. You look great! You look a lot more fit and very happy as usual.

Looks like a good idea for my patio. Love your vids! Keep up the great job with all you do and especially with Sunshine. Love Linda, from LO. CO., OH.

Thanks for the great instruction. Where did you buy the spinner for the bottom?
Glad to see you post Amanda. Do you know what fertilizer you will be using?
Probably just miracle grow right now. Greens love it because it's mostly nitrogen. ;)

Did you have to worry about dirt getting in the discs? Also, how many times did you have to fill the water tray for a single watering?
So where does those gray containers go?
Does anyone know where I can purchase another DISK? I'm guessing the wind took it! PLMK TQ
Where does the clear hose go?
How is the watering working out.
I bought a system like this in dollar tree !! I stacked three units and made an herb garden!

How does the water work? Do you pour water in? Does it just flow down? Is there a pump that makes it circulate back up? Or was that it?
