You asked for comments on videos so you know what people like, yes I am subscribed. I like that you have such a high resolution camera. It really helps to see what you are doing and the condition of the wood at whatever place you are fixing. I also like the diversity of instruments, from the junkiest busted up restaurant decor guitars to the finest acoustic instruments trusted to you. I admire your work as a musician and a mechanic. Your silence in the videos tells all that words are not needed to explain what you are doing in the repairs. It reminds me of another of my favorite channels, Meinmechaniker who rebuilds things and is currently working on a Datsun, repaired down to every nut bolt and screw refurbished. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the craft. *To showcase the high resolution: Viewers, if you slow your speed down to 0.25 playback threre is a High res insect fly by tribute at 5:33 - 5:35!
I won't lie, I'm here for two things. 1) Seeing you taking a good care of instruments. 2) Seeing what's on your nails. And I'm never disappointed. Plus, Music Man instruments are one of my favorite. Really great brand.
I was volunteering in Kyiv for a month, and just before I left the YT algorithm showed me your channel. And of course I was living just five minutes from your shop! I didn't have time to come by this time, but I will be back hopefully in the winter. I have shared your channel with a bunch of musicians here, and we are all fast fans :) Hopefully I will be back to say hello on my next round of volunteering. Don't change a thing! Your content is ACES! Big hugs and Слава Україні!
@@trinacria1956 Revealing her location? That's kind of an overreaction yeah? You make it sound like I just doxxed her... She has a website and a patreon. It's there in plain sight. In Kyiv... Ukrainian flag... no shipments to Belarus or Russia... This is a working guitar repair shop in Kyiv. One of many repair places in the city- they have an incredible culture of repair and upkeep of goods. Something I dearly miss seeing here in the US. If for some reason she asks me to take down or revise the post, I am happy to do it.
@@trinacria1956 It's pretty common knowledge that she's in Ukraine - especially when you tally up all the people who continually well-wish and pray for her safety.
As with all Fenders and also these Leo Fender era instruments up to 1982, the frets were installed sideways! So in order to keep the board intact one needs to remove the frets sideways as well. And you can get lucky as well. Great work. !
Great job as always. These old basses are excellent quality and still show the Fender DNA, with the body design, the skunk strip on the neck and the somewhat triangular metal neck bolt plate. After all Leo Fender was involved in its design.
Спасибо Таня, отличная работа!!! И не только поэтому, ведь из твоих видео можно многому научиться! Всего самого доброго тебе, твоим родным и близким!!! Мирного неба над головой❤
You can really see the fender influence in these early Music Mans. Always very much enjoy your videos. You haven't been alive long enough to be as good as you are! Keep it up! Thank you as always!
You do good work. You kept the authenticity of the original but made it playable (and clean) again. Gail Ann Dorsey would play that. I like your fingernails!
I tripped over your channel while surfing the net. I was interested in what you did. I like the Musicman Stingray bass and I have one of my own. It's a instrument that's never let me down. I've had it quite a few years now and I will never part with it, it plays so well. Keep the channel open so I can see what work you're going. Thanks for the entertaining format of your workshop.
I recently bought a LVOV bass. It's from 1982 and the neck is warped to the treble side. Needs refretting too. Just the tiniest frets ever. Very narrow neck, but very chunky on the back. The neck by itself feels like a small baseball bat. It has a valute that creates the V shaped neck. Very different experience than what I'm used to.
I love watching crafts linked to music. I wish all bastards of the world were able to take a piece of peace that is in it and would stop dropping bombs on other humans. Great work Tanya! Hugs from Praha, Czech Republic❤
Now hang on. We are all here obviously to see your attention to detail, excellent craftswomanship and the occasional injury to your hands but we're also here to see what the heck is going to be on your fingernails ... 🧐
Obviously some people don't know about fingernail styles , or tattoos. Musicians will use fake finger nails if they wear their fingernails off plucking guitar strings , I don't use a guitar pick and I have that problem , fake fingernails come in all styles and even mini Masterpiece oil paintings or Hot Rod Pinstriping .
When yer hammering the frets down, you always do two hits on each side before the final hits. I always hear "Take that, take that!" on those first hits. lol!
...those work shoppe sounds...these are the sounds of Peace ~ 🛎 {note} - I am in shock that you didn't pull and clean the tuning peg assemblies 🤢 love your green shirt
Yay!! This is the kind of bass i play, so im interested in seeing the set up of it Edit: mine is much newer, so there have some notable differences. I have 3 screws in the neck plate thing, the truss rod is adjusted at the body on mine, and i also have the one with a jatoba fretboard. Also i play the “sterling model, so its cheaper
Well done! A re-fret on a maple board can present many issues. You managed to pull the frets out cleanly, and the slots did not require anything more than a light sanding. I hope to see another episode soon. Glory to Ukraine!
Hey Tanya, I've got a question: At 10:58 Which type of dremel tip do you use to polish the individual frets? I tried to do this myself but my dremel polishing tips are too hard and the frets get too hot while polishing. Even with polishing compound.
Can you please share what products you are using for fret polishing and fret board conditioning? It looks like some sort of wax on the fretboard is that correct? Your fret polishing is elite and I struggle getting the scratches pout of mine completely! I'd love even a list of what you typically use! Thanks! Amazing channel!
Reminds me of my old 1978 Stingray but mine was right handed & in worse condition than that one. Miss that bass now. Preamp became noisy. The are covered with epoxy. So they couldn't be copied or repaired.

This shop is in Kyiv? That's cool!
Perhaps revealing her location was not the greatest idea.
@@trinacria1956 It's on her website. They have a shop. If she prefers I remove this post I will do so, but from what I can see, it's no secret.

I love watching you work. It's like therapy for guitar nerds! Plus, I learn stuff. Thanks from Pegleg Monty!
I like the natural look of the wood. That neck has some beautiful grain! And it's a lefty! Yay!
I heard Ted Woodford mention you, it caught me by surprise how well known you are becoming ...well deserved
Yeah, saw that video. Ted is a well-respected man about town. Bonus points for the cultural reference.
I had found her before Ted mentioned her, but I was glad when he mentioned her if for nothing else, then to learn how to pronounce her name. 😅
link to the episode please? :)
I really respect the time and effort you put into making a new nut, instead of taking the easier route of just ordering a replacement.
In a country in war times?
Often it's easier to make a new one from scratch than to make a premade one fit the instrument
@@micheloderso Sure. Just find someone who has friends in the corrupt government, and they can make it happen.
Great job, Tanya! I couldn't be happier to be a mega patron of such a talented luthier and a really great person! I hope you're doing great!😊

Hellz to the yeaaaaa... Tanya always give the bassists love and attention
Yes!! I’ve been waiting for a new video 😊
It's great to see you working on those imstruments.❤
There's some very nice grain on that fingerboard. You can tell that you're still getting new viewers, because they're still asking the old question!
Every time I watch one of your videos I learn something new about guitar setup work.
The "mirror frets" lady never disapoints! - Love the pink tape.😄👍🏻
You do wonderful work Tanya...................stay safe.
Wow! Almost 200K subs!! That's impressive. I bet it happens before summer!! All the best to you, Tanya. And lovely work as always!!
Hello again Tanya! Love the video. Always a pleasure to watch your skill in action. Take care 😊
This gentleman on the workbench looks familiar. Many thanks for fixing the neck curve with the fretwork :)
Thanks for showing the method of grinding the saddle radius with the sandpaper on the fingerboard.
Another beautiful job, Tanya! I didn't even notice it was a lefty until you put the new strings on!

By far the best refret demonstration on the internet, with old school techniques. Bravo, I'm a subscriber. 🎉
I love your work, I can see you solder frets all day
It looks great. Nice job. I love your Aubrey Plaza sticker too!
Great job as usual Tanya. Well done
Happy to see you Tanya! I worry about you. The last video you posted the sirens were going off.
Stay safe sweetheart.

They make the most beautiful basses . Great job on cleaning 'er up!
Time to relax and watch a pro at work.
Shout out, twoodfrd!
Beautiful work Tanya!
You're very good at this. I have learned loads. Thanks!
Tanya, a suggestion, get an arbor press with flat and curved dies to press the frets to the board. That way you won't need to hammer them in.
Blessed Hands that moves the Earth🤘🏼
What a great project! Finished bass looks incredible! Good work!
An absolute Craftsmen!
Great video as usual! Many thx fro Paul and Rodie (meow!) in Canada
Very nice and it is a lefty, that bass plucker is in there right mind🤪 I look forward to the next vid. Cheers 🤘
Thank you another great video. Nice work!!
What a lovely TH-cam channel ❤️
Really great work on this left hand bass. And this time also the nut was right (or left) notched 🙃 - love you and your work 🥰
Sweet bass!
Great job! (As always)
I started repairing guitars about a year ago and I love your vids
Holy cow even the bridge too, awesome again 🎉
So perfect..thank you for the great video
Awesome job turned out fantastic. Hope you are staying safe there. 🇺🇦

I miss your fancy fingernails :). awesome work on the stingray!
That bass look almost new.
P.S.: Nice ring, best wishes to you. 😁✌🖖
