Your visual aid drives the point home. It's sunk a little deeper into my noggin 😊

Right... good way to refocus. There are so many things we are told to focus on: write more books, learn Amazon ads, etc, etc. Thanks, Derek!

Giving gold in a "ugly" looking video gets attention - and Derek you deliver the value loud and simple, clear as a bell. Thanks to you for the past year I've increased my emails from erratic to 1x a week (at least) and no longer get spooked when I get an unsubscribe!

Makes total sense! I have long been a proponent of having an email list but this really visually illustrates the role of the list in book marketing

Not ugly at all! Very simple and well explained.

This is cool. I was DMing with Rahel Wallace and she mentioned concentrating on one funnel process to connect with my target audience. Thanks for the visual, it helps greatly!

LOL. This cracks me up because it's 2009 all over again. OF COURSE you need to build YOUR OWN email list. Hello? If you don't, you're just adding shareholder value to FB, LinkedIn, etc without owning YOUR community that YOU built. Duh
What's missing in this video? Any mention of TARGETED MARKETING. Who is your audience avatar? This feels so scattershot... FOCUS people, FOCUS.

Yeah, I can't believe how many people still don't realize the importance of building an email list. Targeted marketing is also important along with many other things. The goal of this video is to lay out the big picture.

This simple visual aid is really helpful. I appreciate that your presentation style is calm, free of hyperbole and with a splash of humor.

Nice, at a glance diagram. Is it possible to have what the acronym ASPIRE stands for in the notes please?

I've heard about the importance of email marketing repeatedly. What I don't hear is how to actually get people to subscribe to your email list. Promoting it on social media doesn't really do anything if no one sees your posts. I have a link to the signup page on my blog and have shared it on socials a few times, but I still have less than 10 people on the list.

Do you have something compelling to offer people to sign up to your email list? That's the first step. Then virtually all promotion avenues can be used to promote the list such as ads, social media, guest podcasting, guest blogging, cross-promotions, joint promotions, referrals, etc.
