- Following the construction of Icon's remarkable 68 meter explorer yacht "Ragnar" has been a unique and thrilling privilege, and one I am so happy to have been able to share with you. Recently the shipyard invited my team and I to visit the yacht as she was in her final stages of delivery. Lots of work was still going on on board, but we were able to film a unique glimpse of a vessel that is so much more than just another explorer yacht. She is a real ICON!
This is amazing, it’s like the ultimate Bond villain yacht 🛥
uh, that is what it is.
OMG
It would have to be faster
If by Bond Villain you mean Bezos, you may be right. I think he’s going to have one like this as his “support” yacht for his crew and toys to accompany his main yacht.
You mean good guy?
Easily the coolest yacht ever made. If the owner ever reads this, invite me please
Check out the Rev Ocean maybe the only yacht that is cooler
@@anD4riL rev ocean isn't a yacht
@@blewyd well it is kind of 1/3 of the year it will be rented ou to to people
@@anD4riL it isn't classified as a yacht. It's a research vessel. Even though it can be used as one, it is still and always will be a research vessel.
I’m the owner and you’re invited. To rent it for 500K per week. Special price only for you.
WOW...Breathtakingly different. All credit to the designers, shipyard and owner for their fabulous work, vision and foresight.
Im the owner. Thanks Simon, I really needed your validation. To be honest I had zero stakes in the work, vision and foresight. I dropped a couple hundred million and that’s it. I’m gonna use it for holidays and drug trafficking.
@@artje123 couldnt read a more intelligent comment :)
Now Ragnar's interior is done the way I like. Natural woods and leather accents. This reminds me of some of the old ski lodges in the Pacific Northwest that I've seen. Man cave maybe, more like a bygone era Gentleman's hunting lodge. Nothing buffed and polished to a mirror finish like on so many other yachts (No Gold and Silver gilding).
He said it's manly. I think it's the style of the boat we see on old movies about sea explaration. Many women like this style.
The dining area was a bit dark for my liking, but I know exactly what you mean. So much nicer than the antiseptic, high sheen interiors used on most super yachts
Yes..
I feel everyword spoken...
An amazing floating man cave! I love how the designers kept the "working horse" character intact and combined that with a style what is very luxurious but not glamourous. this ship is actually a ship someone could live on ( i would) and go everywhere. definitely my #1 on my top 10 superyachts
Whats the other crap in your list if this is no1
Best yacht ever toured on TH-cam to date. Period. I was in love already but then lost it again in the last three minutes with the gym, spa, and sea toys. I agree with another poster - so many yachts are just deck after deck of sofas, wet bars, tanning beds, loungers, tables, chairs, and then more sofas. Then more lounge space, chairs, and sofas. Completely useless. This one is a gem.
The rest of the yachts can float off into the sunset/scrapyard now.
Thanks for watching. I have to agree...she sets your heart racing!
Placing the bridge and living areas at the front of the yacht puts them at the worst point for a ride quality in rough seas. Poor design.
@@brettrun8575 where else would you like the bridge??? 😕
@@kylebieth3678 The best ride on any boat is at the aft end. Not at the bow. Placing the bridge and the living areas at the very front of the boat gives it the absolute worst ride in rough seas.
@@brettrun8575 again, besides a catamaran, what other yacht has the bridge aft? I agree with you on rooms, but if im captain, i want to be at the front. Im subscribed to denison and aquaholic and i have yet to see a yatch with an "aft" bridge
Immediately one of the most iconic yachts ever made.... GORGEOUS!!!!!
Just speechless, no words can capture what Icon has done. Truly unique!
If I had the income to afford any type of yacht, I would 100% buy an explorer yacht. Their value proposition for luxury and genuine sea-worthy exploration is unparalleled
I feel the same way. A truly utilitarian vessel that does not sacrifice comfort.
And without a doubt ppl will want to charter this for the more personalized experience
That one is in a class of it's own. Amazing layout. Holy crap that's a nice ship.
Wow! "Truly a tribute to its designers and its workers!"
Amazing icon.
dawn I love this yacht is so different, so out of box, so row, so beautiful, so strong, so elegant, so unic, so much more then others is a icon
Whoever designed this, has a sense for style. This looks great
I always struck by the professionalism of this gentleman's presentations ,knowledgeable ,understated, none of nonsense so often associated with such videos, pleasure to watch and yes the yacht is a masterpiece.
I would say... MASTER PIECE. Never seen a yatch more exquisitely furnished and oriented than this... pure extravagance with the most delighfull taste! Weel done for the owner!
Simply stunning. All involved in her design, fabrication and style deserve the pride they no doubt feel.
Hi David. Ragnar is absolutely fantastic. The conversion from commercial vessel to a rugged, arctic, bold gentlemans club with light refreshing stylish staterooms. Enough toys and tenders to rival any explorer yacht on the planet. Ive folowed the Ragnar series, Icon have created a masterpiece. Awesome video David, thanks.
I've always had a passion for working vessels, especially supply vessels and AHTS vessels. I've had the pleasure of being employed by a team designing such vessels in addition to icebreakers but I've never seen yachts as much more than floating hotels for the ultra rich. This yacht is positively magnificent. The beautiful polar rated hull shape, the cool, clean, dark exterior, and the brass and mahogany interior that harkens back to the golden age of exploration. It's perfect, now I just need enough cash to buy one.
What a work of art and function! It's been a dream of mine to explore the Arctic. This is the perfect vessel to do it in style. Such a privilege to be invited aboard and permitted to host a 'tour', lucky bloke! Thanx for sharing, Dave.
The best interior design and the most luxurious yacht I have ever seen. The man cave, spa, and toys make it to the top of my wish list.
This is by far the most exciting yacht that you have featured on this channel. The owner deserves to be congratulated for his vision in creating such a distinctive looking yacht.
Well designed for sure. I would literally use this vessel as my primary residence.
It was a pleasure making the name sign... good luck with all the exploring!
What an epic video. Really nicely done David.
Would love the opportunity to visit her 1 day.
My local news reported that she’ll be available for charter at $500k per week. My local news is shit though, so take this with a grain of salt.
The Gavel is soundgavel Your local news is not half as shit as your comment discrediting your local news for correctly communicating the charter price of this ship.I’m the manager and owner of your local news and also of this ship so I know what I’m talking about.
@@artje123 wow..you really are full of it. So..not only do you own this ship, you own this guys local news station? And what praytell would that news station be?
Kyle Bieth Well, me and my daughters own this ship yes. Plus a bunch of other ships. I have in fact so many ships to manage and charter that I have only an hour a day left of my valuable time to spend on trivial stuff like TH-cam comments on videos of my own ships. That’s what billionaires do, you know.
artje123 This has to be the best comment on all of TH-cam.
🤟🤟
agnar is an ICON and you are an icon too Dave!! What a vessel......She's amazingly remarcable!!
That is to say "remarkable".
Hands down the best conversion I ever saw. Best interior design by far and all these over a supply vessel. Kudos Icon!
So great to see it finished! - I really have enjoyed watching the updates. Thank you!
I would have liked to see the engine room.
That would be a great video as well.
Me too. Really, the only reason I watch yacht videos is to (hopefully) see the bridge, engine room and crew quarters. The engine room is rarely seen, and views of crew quarters are impossibly rare. But I'll say one thing about Ragnar, I really like the the style of the living areas, with the hand carved woods and leathers, it's very warm and inviting. Timeless design. Beautiful.
Ditto, I was really looking forward to the technical spaces
Have a look to the previous videos of the series 😉
Love the boat but hate the tacky decorations. It’s like it doesn’t know who it is. Some rooms timeless while the others modern. Then a tacky Viking mannequin? This feels like a child’s room.
That was you fastest 10 minute video to date. What an absolute treasure that ship is.
Now this is a gorgeous yacht!
This is exactly how a superyacht should look!
Fantastic video David! You manage to explain the ship and its unique features so well in such a short time.
Even if I find the interior a bit too conservative, Ragnar remains one of the most fascinating yachts in the world.
Awesome and looks eminently useable. Well done to all involved in her design and build. Long may she sail the seas
This is absolutely amazing! My new dream yacht! The adventures this boat will see...👾
Ragnar is more than just an icon. She is definitely one of the classic greats! What a time to be alive to witness this.!
Ragnar is the future of yachting by experiencing the recycling of a old hull. There are always new yachts on the market but what about the old ones? Well, Icon has the solution!
I guess if you have a classed icebreaker around and you want a yacht. Which this was. It was just 5-6 years old when they started. Not that they took a 40 year old hull
@@theablanca17 I thought it was a brand new hull?
@@nutsmcflurry3737 No. Ragnar was based on a vessel called Sanaborg. Started life in 2012
@@theablanca17 thanks for the info.
Absolutely love the finished ship! The detail and functionality is unreal. One of my favorite yachts of all time.
Love this! I often see those Offshore Service Vessels and think: That would make a brilliant exploring vessel. Nice to see I wasn't the only one! Brilliant execution on this.
Me too
Spectacular like Ragnar himself , Ragnar will make an impact. I hope to see it one day. Well done to the owner. What a vision.
It was in Malta a few weeks ago. Right down the road from where I live. Cool!
I have been waiting and lamenting this video since your first Ragnar video. Waiting, because I love the concept of an ice class explorer yacht, lamenting because now that Ragnar is being delivered this may be that last we see of him. Thank you.
Great video! A gorgeous ship for someone wanting to explore the world rather than exploring women. Respect 👍
Who needs a house this would be perfect to live aboard forever
Yeah probably costs more than 5,000 houses though..
It’s a half a billion
Matt Taylor Easily I reckon
justine moise chicken feed then!!!!!!!
@@justinemoise1037 No way a 68 meter refurbished support/supply icebreaker is half a billion. Maybe 50 million.
Fantastic, I think this is just about perfect... the yacht I see when I sleep.
Amazing video as per usual, thank you very much. Take care and stay safe. 👍👍👍🛥🛳🏴☠️🚤⛴☠🚢⛵⚓😎
Wow really impressive explorer yacht
Eighteen months already. It goes so fast. If Ragnar is not the most beautiful boat, it is among the most beautiful. The line, the designe, everything is perfect. David and his team are also responsible for this wonderful video for a beautiful boat. I didn't expect to see a yacht of this quality when I saw the video 18 months ago.
such a badass name...perfectly fits the vessel
I remember when you first talked about this Yacht. I always thought it was going to stay a concept. It’s amazing!
Extremely impressive - just like every super-yacht, but somehow very odd and weird.
That's the most beautiful yacht you have ever done. Thanks David.
Only a fully fledged “Bond Villian” could ever own this......Ive been expecting you Mr Bond.... 🙄
I’ve always loved yachts since I was a child but holy cow this was impressive.
Exquisitely beautiful exploration yacht...
Perhaps we can see inside the Ulatein "Olivia-O" & Damen "SeaXplorer".
That is far and away the most beautiful and well engineered vessel, explorer or otherwise, that I believe I have ever seen. Suits my sensibilities completely. If only…maybe in another life. 👍
I could self isolate on this :)
Need more! This 10 minute video is such a tease, this is my kinda M/Y. I'm all about exploration, and too think this bad boy can travel to both poles is just amazing!
When the zombie apocalypse hits I'm stealing this! Oh yeah! What a beauty!
What an amazing yacht! This really is a pinnacle of practical luxury. We need more, thinking outside the box, yachts like this. As always, fantastic video!
Question for you David.
How on earth does your videographer decide what parts of the boat to shoot? There must have been so many choices on this one. Kudos to him for the way this is made. These videos truly are the gold standard of yacht videos on TH-cam. They inspire my own editing and videography techniques on a daily basis.
Cheers!
I'm just guessing here, but the camera crew probably shot every angle of every room, and then David worked with the editors to pick out the best ones. Really well made by all means!
@@basstrammel1322 That's exactly how it's done. But even then, one must prioritise what to shoot. I could be in that boat for a week and not be finished!
Style and substance in one magnificent package. It's beautiful and clearly proves that with enough imagination, determination, cooperation, craftsmanship and money you really can turn a sow's ear into a silk purse. Bravo!
Is this the one currently stuck in Narvik?
Would have loved to see the crew spaces and kitchen too! But that cigar/sky lounge, WOW!
5:50 i wish i had that deck hands energy
That was legit me🤣

This looks like what I would imagine yachts will look like 30 years from now. Now they just need to make it fly 😂
I'm quite sure it does that and much much more. Outfitted for Giants
I really enjoyed seeing the series of videos following the construction of this yacht--an unusual looking but very cool yacht that's really become one of my favorites. Thank you!
Whoever reads this, I want you to be a billionaire and wish you the best love.
Insane! Very well meeting modern exterior to classic interior. The toys are also insane, Big Bo, is what a 200k + amphibian off-road vehicle crazy 👏
This will be the Benchmark for years.
Don't you mean the FOOTSTOOL?
Awesome ship. Purposely built for a mission. One of the nicest big yachts I've enjoyed in awhile.
Another one bites the dust... Sanctioned
Wow... probably the most beautiful yacht i have ever seen
Row, row, row your boat...
I have been waiting with anticipation for your review of "Ragnar" since you first viewed it at Icon's shipyard, along with several build updates,
To turn a once working ship into something so stunning is remarkable to say the least,
Well done to all involved at Icon and RWD for producing such a luxury yacht to cruise the world in.
And thank you David for sharing your excellent review of such a world beating Yacht…delivered as always impeccably….. Super yachts around the world have just had a wakeup call..
Bah, many could care less about this yacht. The global elite only care about opulence, this is just one of the few that came from a donor vessel. Most of the world's elite wouldn't dare set foot on a ship such as this.
'Big Bo' is just the name they painted on the ATV, it is a Sherp.
Big Bo is Big Bo, and Sherpa is Sherpa, okay? Before approving, rummage around even the internet for educational purposes ... ignorant
look exactly the same as a sherpa
Never heard of big bo ? What is it if it's not a branded sherpa ?
BigBo ATV 4x4 is a completely different all-terrain vehicle. Comfortable, spacious, powerful and beautiful.
Of course it resembles a Sherp, but like all cars resemble each other... and this is an incorrect comparison.

Exactly why would you want to be anywhere else but on this Yacht, and when life is over I can be buried at sea ?.
I definitely have to say that this boat Ragnar is a one-of-a-kind quite unique in the in the looks of the vessel and the Interiors why I just wow
That mans club looks like the perfect place to get the lads together after dinner, break out the scotch and cigars and hatch a nefarious plot for world domination.
Such a beautiful and classy expedition yacht. Inside and out this yacht is amazing.
Its nice to see a yacht interior that reflects the man who bought it, and not their wife.
Yep, he certainly is trying to impress *The Boys with this 1.
@@asgoodasitlooks that would make sense, considering that 99% of these things are bought and paid for by "the boys".
Great yacht & a very clever ending to the video 😀👍🏼.
I've heard the owner of this outstanding yacht is Ragnar Danneskjöld
I was an engineer (construction & outfitting) on this project and it is easy to say the most beautiful and unique project I have experienced and will experience in the future.
Still working there?
Owner: I love nature - the calmness, the solidarity, fresh air....
Also Owner: but I need to bring everything I can put gasoline into with me.

Wow! What a ship! Thank you for this video. This is one of the ships I’ve wanted to see the finished product ever since I heard it was being built. It definitely did not disappoint. The interior spaces were amazing. The interior design was amazing with the use of finishes onboard. Kudos to Icon and the owner for the build. It is sure to rack up some awards.
David, any chance you can get on board and do a video of the other explorer class ship, OceanXplorer
In my first posting, I failed to commend the craftsman who worked on this ship- without their work this ship would not be so amazing.
To the owner: please let Aquaholic do a tour!
Agreed...although Nick may never get off once hes inside this treasure
Kyle Bieth Get off? It’s TH-cam not porn tube ok
This is by far and away the most amazingly beautiful, insanely kitted out and sumptuously luxurious explorer I have ever seen! This is the absolute pinnacle of yatching for me! Who ever the owner is really knows how to do it right! Hats off to Ragnar, I doubt anything will be able to top this in my books! Man what an absolute beauty! I can only imagine what it must feel like to be the owner of the gem on hand over day, just walking arounf your new floating palace with a well earned smug smile, patting your self on the back and just saying "Well (name) ........we did it, well done indeed, now let go have some fun" What a feeling. Wow, some people really do have incredible lives. And clearly, sometimes, money does buy class!
Calling Ragnar a “she” just doesn’t feel right. It’s an old classic male name in Sweden, Norway and Iceland.
Calling a ship a “he” isn’t an option.
It's always a pleasure watching your videos David. Thank a ton..
5:50 Broom getting a serious workout
Wow! What a beautiful yacht, now there is something you could easily live aboard and travel the world with. Truly wonderful. Thanks for sharing. :)
Well this didn't go all too well 🤣
Pretty cool yacht. When I first saw it I thought of a Support Yacht, but after seeing the walk around it is a beauty to behold. Thanks for the video. Great work.
owned by oligarch...
That makes no sense lol
Any difference from a billionaire?
I've been waiting for this video since may 15th last year! FINALLY! She (or he?) looks absolutely amazing. I can't believe how much stuff they managed to put into that ship. I've seen a lot of awesome yachts on this channel, but this tops them all!
Aquaholic should have a look at this and then we’d be sparred the continuous clichés.
Congratulations Dave: excellent videos that show us how Ragnar come to life as a kind of his own yatch
one of the best videos ever made by uncle David...
I never thought much of super yachts, but this would definitely suit me. Thanks for the update.
This explorer yacht looks like it can be over 100 m longer! Design play a big part in how we perceive this beauty! Great video 👌🏿
