To me, you are describing the power of 'virtuoso' in motion benefited from knowledge, talent, & experience. Amateurs play the basic tune, while pros expand it and make it flow with rhythm and filling that makes a tune whole and very enjoyable. I really appreciate you Andy. God bless you.
If I had to summarize how I wanted to be able to play this is pretty much it. I noodled for years on pntentonic scales and always wanted to play like a blues piano player playing melodic with tasty fills. Great stuff! Great variations at the end. The way you kicked off the 2nd to last variation was :chef-kiss
Good stuff Andy. The singing, and melody is the heart and soul of a song, a road map for the players to follow. I heard the post you and Hayes did about American music's flat third heritage. So true. The beauty of guitar is the key of C shapes are so easy to learn, play, and move, via capo, up the neck as needed. A pro needs to play all the shapes, open, or closed, but us amateurs don't.
Can I flatten the third on my fiddle? 😂😂😂 Great Lesson! I've heard those licks and turn arounds all my life but never been able to wrap my head around them. This is a great starting off point thank you!
Question for you Andy maybe a video idea 🤷🏻♂️ When you're playing on a c shape tune and you're improvising over the 4 chord, what is some stuff you might play over the 4? Example like what del McCoury band did with the tune "just because"... playing a break on that looking for some "4" chord lessons!! 😅
Andy stop wasting your time teaching these guitarists how to play they don't appreciate at all! Us mandolin players are all ears just waiting for you to pass on your talents to us !❤ Only joking about the guitarists 😂
Amazing how you can make that “simple” song sound so “musical” it’s always great to go back to the roots and you showed us all that 👌🏻🤠

Very nice - tasty improvising but simple, no need for "shredding". Thanks!
I'm just learning bluegrass, and I have been looking for these little secrets that aren't really secrets. Thank you.
This is great. You make it look easy....

And I'm seeing as I get to the end you're pointing to that already but yes F shape licks feel different than G and C
@@grassrootsguitarschool how do you like that Yamaha?
@@grassrootsguitarschool if you glue your first finger down, f feels more like c or g
@@mandohat love it man!
@@mandohat I'm gonna try that. I hope it works.
It’s like finding the candy your mom hid from you😅
