Priest main here, twisted fate competes in pve if checking a lot of top logs (especially as fights get shorter). And has very good pvp situations, like grp content where kill pressure matters. Give a spriest 3-4 secs of casting and a target is dead, 1.2k mind blast crits into a death.
Horn of Lordaeron needs a buff. It doesn't provide enough stats compared an imp BoM, which it is exclusive with, and it lasts a ridiculous 2 minutes, and is only party wide. This was supposed to be one of the perks of taking an Hpal since they have nothing else heal-like on chest rune but it's not even used.
@@justinkedgetor5949 except it’s a neutered, half of two totems each. Using it right now gives you less than half the attack power of a blessing of night which lasts 10 mins and isnt a party wide limitation. Most of all though, your holy paladin will never be in the wind fury group where all the str/agi users will be, so this buff is completely useless. It needs to be fixed to be raid wide , last at least five minutes, AND stack with blessing of might, otherwise it’s trash. And totems aren’t “kicked over” ever, no one cares about or was ever talking about pvp. Vanilla PvP is a meme.
@@cococock2418 I can clearly see you don't want to have a constructive conversation. I suggest the forums to express your discontent as it's more likely to reach blizz.
Carve already hit with both weapons, they just don't specify it in the toolkit. This said hunters really have one meme rune at the beginning of a phase while the rest is weak at best, except AoL and Trap launcher.
I think Blood Frenzy would be a lot cooler if it caused any bleed abilities or procs to also be applied to all nearby targets (or maybe up to 4 targets).
I for one still hope for a Smite-Priest rune settup. Two would be enough. Something along the lines of: Rune of the Inquisition. Each time you cast Smite, you gain a stack of "Strict discipline" (Maximum 5) which reduce the casttime of your next Holy spell by 20% and its manacost by 15% each (100% / 75% max). Your "Holy Nova" also consumes your Stacks of "Strict discipline" to increase its Damage and Healing done by 15% and reduce its Manacost by 15% each. Rune of Strict Discipline. You can no longer cast damaging Shadow spells. Your Holy spells and Wand Attacks can no longer miss their Target. Enemies aflicted with Holy Fire take 100% extra damage from Wand Attacks and Critical strikes consume Holy fire on your target to grant you "Mental Clarity", causing your Smite to deal 20% more damage and reduces its cast time by 100% for 7 seconds. The idea behind these two runes is to lean into the Discipline Talents affecting your Wand and Holy damage and the Holy talents revolving around Smite and Holy Fire, aswell as forming a cycle of Smite -> Holy Fire -> Wand attacks -> Smite (With critical hits boosting the next smite cycle). Also this would introduce a spec that finally uses a Wand as a main damage source. Meanwhile the first rune is not just for Smite Priesting, but rather an addition to a healers toolkit too. As this now fullfills a similar role to the Druid rune of rewarding Healers that also deal a bit of damage during their downtime with an instant heal.
Honestly great ideas and I'm also hoping for a holy dmg build priest. Doesn't have to be much like you say, just a couple of runes and they can be some hybrid heal/dps. I'm also imagining streamers like say Savix/Hydra/Esfand could make an all holy raid with only paladins and priest for content.
They can't even reasonably handle all the current specs and playstyles in the game, let's not add pointless specs that ultimately don't differ much at all from an arcane mage, thanks.
@zhadez10 yeah, but it doesn't exist, let's keep it that way so they can focus on fixing the current dumpster fire, as opposed to dumping more gas in it.
@@bluburryyumyum1367 Smite priest has been done in vanilla before. There are talents for it in the game and potential synergy with paladin holy dmg aura and crusader debuff. They should fix the current dumpster fire (I agree there is a lot to fix) and then I'd love to see something like a couple runes for smite priest. I don't think SoD should be about making useless spells even more useless. Like penance doing more damage for less mana than any holy dmg spell and also healing more for less mana than your vanilla heals. Prayer of mending and circle of healing also vastly outperform holy nova and prayer of healing.
Getting it at 32 was nice for the spell cleave groups. Luckily, I had a group of warlocks grabbing the rune with me. There's no way I could solo it at 32, lol.
@@CrixGuides But cataclysm is a bad expansion that literally every single person that has ever lived hates, how can there be something good in cataclysm? Whenever you mention cataclysm and good in the same sentence, a horde of people that never played it will flock you and tell you it is a bad expansion
Maybe when you're tanking. I haven't tried in SoD but in classic once you were wound up it was hard to keep rage dumping when you got other stuff to do but also feels bad to be capped.
It definitely trashed the fun part of arms warrior. Give up stance-stancing, whirlwind, and berserkers rage to use this rune, or do almost the same amount of damage in SOD as normal classic. Want to switch stances to overpower while tanking? Nope. Want to sweeping strikes into whirlwind? Nope. I am convinced whoever made the warrior runes never played warrior in classic.
@@fanofcodd This whole ass load of a game is pointless balance wise. But it does, give people who are terminally pissed off a perfect source of irritation
The only way to make that drain life room better is if it gave you increased mana regeneration by a significant margin. Or to make melee better in raids each debuff. That you have on the enemy that you cast it on while channeling it on that enemy they would take let's say 3% more damage from physical attacks stacking or if that's too much 2%.
Serpent sting has 100% spellpoeer scaling, but if you chimera shot, it double dips to 200%,, which your chimera shot scales off. Serpent spread gets 2 ticks of sting on several targets, which with my build is 250-400 per target, and performs well in raids as well
I think there is still application for demonic grace when used with dance of the wicked but it does seem struggle to make a case against 25% fire damage. Gotta be a lot of physical damage going out to make it worth it sometimes. When they interacted and gave ludicrous mana regeneration it felt really good. I miss it, turns out having to life tap during a boss fight ur tanking can sometimes be rough.
i have been waiting 20 years for this. 20 god damn years of warrior players telling me to respec resto and heal and let the 'real' dps classes do the dps. now the shoe is on the other foot, and their reaction when i say "Yo, your dps is pretty bad, maybe its time to spec prot and tank and let the real dps classes, such as enhancement shamans, do the dps" is priceless almost every single time. nothing gets them fuming like a former top meme spec smugly telling them to perform the one role they don't utterly suck at, and in the warrior's case; the most boring one - tanking, while i am DW tanking the boss while still doing enough dps to be in the top 5. will be even more priceless to see them sperg out in discord when we get to 40 man raids and i start implying that, basically, they don't _really_ deserve to roll on loot because whichever loot drops will serve the raid better in my hands, than it will in yours, so you know... step aside ok?. you can get the swords solely because shamans can't use those, but don't get your hopes up chap, because those (yes plural) Deathbringer axes are shaman prio now, as is the DFT trinket because honestly, its more important that i hitcap my offhand than it is for you to hitcap your mainhand since my standard offhand hit does like twice the damage of your main hand crits.
The sheer pettiness is something I usually frown upon but warriors are indeed the most insufferable people at least in Classic. It feels good to see warriors doing worse than casters and my warrior buddy who's normally chill is malding over warriors sucking and all I can do as someone who switched from rogue to mage (because Blizzard hates rogue DPS) is laugh.
@Xachy apparently that wasn't a problem for 20 years. why is it suddenly something we need to take seriously now? oh right, because now its the warrior community crying. entitled prats.
@WillE have u do u think we will get a meta rune slot where u can use a any rune slot so u can use like 2 leg runes in your build because lock runes on legs runes assume at some point there will be a way to use everlasting affliction with incinerate
I mostly play balance druid, tho more often than not i have to jump into resto for gnomey raids, as we seem a little light on the ground for healers, but i get to soft reserve balance gear as they know I only go resto for raids. The new play style of fishing for dream state procs is a strange situation and I dropped eclipse for the last raid yesterday so I could use nourish (that is now far cheaper since the patch) I found I was totally out healing the priest along side me so long as my mana held up, but without eclipse I found it hard to trigger dreamstate to begin with. This change does allow for full tank healing tho so the fishy dps build is kind of gone, my raid leader after looking at the log afterwards said the drop in bonus dps and the fact I did have to use so many mana pots suggests (I cba to look at logs personally) that the original set up using eclipse tho does not do as much healing is far more effective for the team overall and extra 220 dps and no need to use innverate on yourself turns out to be more effective overall. Sorry, I am ranting about the druid healing changes. Great vid man :)
Can you post your toon's name and realm so I can see your logs? I'm curious as 5/0/26 is still talked about being the best resto spec seeing as nourish isn't normally beating out a HT4.
Sorry but if you’re using anything beside wildgrowth and various ranks of healing touch you’re just not healing correctly on a Druid lol almost all of their “normal” healing spells are horrible for the mana:healing ratio
@@JustLikeYou. well thats my point, i tried adding nourish and it overall performs worse because of the lack of dreamstate procs, so you cant maintain as many wildgrowths, but wild growth is mostly over healing where as nourish does allow for better tank healing (far more efficient than healing touch) if nourish was on another rune slot I could see a way for it to be used, as it stands wildgrowth is the only healing rune you can viably use as it stands.
@@carlmcclatchie2122 I would say it’s more “it’s literally the only healing rune you need” sure single target healing is much harder cause you’re just trying to get Fury procs, but one healer can’t be the best at everything (or at least shouldn’t be)
For hunter it would be quite simple to do things properly. A rune that allow autoshoot to have a 10-15% proc chance to give an instant aimed shot. Of course we need traps/spells to scale with attack power. Seeing our dots hit at 35 is a joke.
I also hope they will put the druid's Mangle and Lacerate on different slots. It feels weird only having one without the other. Also, I'm pretty sure lifebloom is unviable as long as spells can't proc omen of clarity, or alternatively you rework lifebloom to its TBC state, where it is low mana cost and does not return mana. I actually much preferred that version of lifebloom.
Hunter runes really are terrible. The only choice for chest is HOTL, most specs use Beast Mastery for gloves and the rest are undertuned. The only thing that works is melee and while I like melee hunter I’d rather it not be good at the expense of everything else. Even Trap Launcher could do with a buff, specifically adding scaling for the fire traps but I’d prefer that to be a new rune that adds general ap to sp conversion like for paladin.
I wanted to try shockadin, but they have the range judgment +17% spell hit, the 20% holy shock and chance to reset, and the spell power buff rune ALL on the waist... what a waste... would be good if we could use all three.. i guess they just wanted to taunt us with shockadin viable build with the runes...
Hunter Runes feel kinda like "We didn't know what to put in for Hunter so here is some Stuff". I mean you have Beastmastery on Gloves and Lone Wolf on Chest, which counter each other??? Dont forget that Melee Hunter got nerfed/Buffed now -30% dmg for the effect that you can use different weapons... Meanwhile Mage bombs every encounter with living bomb and has so much crit stacked on lvl 40 that you can actually play Fire and Warlock has so many Impro Damage Spells like "Incinerate, Lake of Fire, Belt Rune" that they Crit with Chaosbolt for around 4,2k if they crit that is. (Both Classes are a lot of Fun tho, i must admit) TL:DR i dont really understand the Patch Politics and Nerfs for some Things, if Blizz wanna nerf them for PvP, dont actually nerf the Dmg Part of it, it just hurts the Class even more. Warrior aren't that bad either apparently to warcraftlogs - they are on the Rise to the Top of the Logs atm, just a few atm, but i think the Numbers will increase over the next 2 Weeks.
90% of the warrior runes are meme tier. Only one actual game changer is the warbringer in pvp and basically thats it, other than that its a vanilla class.
Devs are just don't want players to play warriors apparently xd Clearly it's abstraction to them to think that warriors would have something interesting and not OP at the same time. Instead they add something like TWO slam related runes XD There is nothing that would make gameplay different or special/interesting.
Next phase frostfire bolt with shatter, crit modifiers in talents and runes for full frost, with the ability to take ignite will be obscene if we get deep freeze like was leaked. Nova somebody, hardcast frostfire and while its in flight deep freeze for obscene damage
Dishonorable mentions for paladin: Infusion of Light is suppose to be a niche shockadin rune, but it shares slot with your biggest source of spellpower, Sheath of Light, which even with no strength gear gives over 100sp. Maybe it will have some use in the future, when you can get a lot more spellpower from gear, and when your base AP won't give you much SP. Horn of Lordaeron is suppose to be an alternative to BoM, but even the most tryhard melees I played with don't really care about it over BoM, plus it's much more annoying to use as paladin. But I guess if you only have one paladin in your raid, it can be used along with BoS, BoW or BoL.
Yo man. Can u pls tell me if instant spells like Arcane shot or Explosive shot clip Auto shots ? Cannot find some relevant information. Thx for answering
How long will Blizz ignore how broken Shamans are atm. Tankiness of a prot warrior with the burst of the (old) shadow priest. New version of WoW same old team balancing it
Aspect of the lion is a curse as much as it is a blessing to the hunter class, not ever being able to play a different rune in that rune slot is kind of annoying (unless there is a second hunter that wont mind)
I have found spellfrost bolt works great for me in a shatter shell that dips into arcane for arcane focus and subtlety to farm mobs that are levels 44-46 with pretty reliable success. Of course it also works great for farming water elementals and bypassing their frost cc immunity :D
the Rewind time on mages legit need to change slot: its a heal rune but share same slot as arcane blast: you know 1 out of 2 main spells to heal with objectively the worst rune not even becuase the ability is bad but becuase it replaces a important piece of the whole idea of mage healer so make mage healer not work at all and only give arcane dmg via missiles that makes missiles barrage useless so that rune legit dont work with whole theirs concept of mage healer only becuase it share same rune slot with arcane blast + not helping it cost alot of gold to even get that rune
when I was leveling I tried shadowflame while farming library. fire shield from the imp was doing more damage per pull. shadow flame needs a serious scaling buff considering how crazy the other 2 boot runes are.
I really enjoy playing shaman, but I do think it's about time they implement a change to the duration of weapon enhancements. Because 5 minutes is just way to short to avoid it going off during fights where you'd prefer to conserve your mana. it really doesn't bring any difference to gameplay. Just add a book or whatever which gives you a 10 or 15 minute duration on them instead of 5.
I got a feeling like you totally miss Healing Runes in Priest. and focus only on Shadow side of the class. Even if we as a priests have 2 trees of healing Talents and plenty of abilities.
Rogue basically has 1 or 2 runes max that they can use in each slot and still be viable. Here are some changes that some runes would need to be viable against the other runes in the same slot. Poisoned knife should do as much dmg as mutilate to have a chance to compete with shadowstep. Shuriken toss should basically do double the damage or lower its energy cost to be able to hold threat at all against some classes. Shiv should deal double the damage and proc a second debuff to the enemy. Shadowstrike should deal as much dmg as ambush. Its hard to take seriously when we have mutilate in the same slot. Main gauge should have no cd at all to make rogues choose it in any way, shape or form. Slaughter from the shadows should make backstab use 30 energy. Ambush is fine with 40 as it is. Saber slash should deal increased damage to poisoned targets. Maybe this way it would be somewhat worth it.
Main gauche will be good at lvl 60. Can reach 90% avoidance with pre raid gear and every buffs. With main gauche and ghostly strike, that mean 100% avoidance with only 3s of downtime where you will be at 90% avoidance every 20s.
Lone wolf and cobra strikes being on the same slot as lion locks horde out of it unless theres a second hunter, hell even most alliance would prefer it from a hunter as it allows paladins to buff something else. Serpent spread could change serpent sting to hit 3 targets and allow it to crit and scale from attack power, which also buffs chimera and actually lets ranged be somewhat viable Sniper training should work similar to wotlk one where it has a lasting buff afterwards so it's playable Carve does actually work with both weapons and has been buffed to 65% weapon damage however BM is the play for melee hunter at the minute which means we'd prefer the BM rune over carve Steady shot lacks from us having faster, lower damage threshold, weapons and in TBC ranged weapons had a big dps buff compared to how vanilla ranged weapons are which is probably why steady shot feels so bad currently. Invigoration, with how good this iteration of viper is, is essentially useless. You can swap to viper and launch in an explosive trap to gain back more than enough mana, I think cobra strikes and invigoration being tied together as part the same rune would still be a questionable take lol
Everlasting affliction! Leg rune for warlocks. Basically not usable because affliction isn't usable in raids. And solo pve content stuff dies too fast where corruption doesn't need refreshed
Art of war rune for feet needs the exorcism rune on legs. So it is basically useless if you don’t use the leg rune. Also you are always oom without the manaregg rune for feet. Feral tank has no useful leg rune. The charge/kick shares a cd with the feral charge lower range and costs double the rage. And as others mentioned the lacerate/mangle slot in hand feels strange. Just put one onto legs
Warriors need runes that allow them to play with a shield and not require windfury to generate rage. Blood frenzy is the one single ability that allows consistent rage generation in dungeons. In the raid it is just flat out worse than flagelation, and warbringer.
Sham is in a weird place, I dont think "shamanic rage" is that intuitive, wish "way of earth" didnt have interrupt distance reduction, shams main function was interrupting and using totem, that's where the big skill cap came from. If water shield was effective and didnt take up lava burst slot, there would be more interesting build option with less mana concerns
Pumping the stats up really high on sniper training should fix a lot of marksman problems imo. Having more crit shadow buffs all the useless crit proc runes and making the change to sniper training as opposed to another rune wouldn't have a big pvp impact due to it's massive movement restrictions. Course it would still be booty in raids with a ton of movement, maybe they could let you active sniper training on a cooldown to get 6 seconds to reposition without losing the passive buff?
so ill be honest where is the tremor totem and horn of winter rune for paladin? horn is okish while leveling until you get DS but the antifear isnt utilized anywhere
Exemplar, horn, and the placement of divine storm and seal of martyrdom are nerve racking to figure out how to use. I just can't see constantly changing runes for cleave or single target utility is annoying. I feel like Martyrdom should be a spell tome honestly.
Plus exorcism needing other runes to even work at all is stupid because you can't even attack with it unless you have the damage one and you get get resets without are of war. Paladins are viable because they are hard to kill, but honestly not by much. I think alot of our runes should have been tomes and moved around. Exorcism especially should have been a tome because it's literally a core dps ability. Horn as well could have been added as one and exemplar because otherwise when do you really need to use it. It's like they are trying to make us mirror Shamans but with none of these crazy damage buffs they are getting.
Horn can be used as holy paladin since no healing option on chest. Problem is you will need to be in the melee group for it to see use. One advantage of horn is you can use horn + salvation blessing so it is 2 pally blessings for 1 group. The tremor aura buff is only used in pvp since it has no use in Gnomeregan.
@@Newchaos190 on horn yes has uses but there isn't really much dungeon content that you would use it in and it's really not an option to put you into melee grp for the buff while raiding. Both are just so niche that they don't get used or downright undertuned
He completely missed the problem with Rogue and focused on Rogue tank, which is objectively a less played spec than Rogue DPS. So I am gonna cover (as a Rogue), why people don't take rogues into PvE grps: 1. You bring ZERO raid buffs, which gives you the prestigious title of being the ONLY class which can do this. This is the main issue, and Rogue basically needs a party buff (probably something small, not broken). 2. Mediocre damage (the reason #1 is important is because when rogue does not have S tier damage, it just doesn't make sense to bring one to PvE. The only thing we have is Kick for raid utility, and well, other classes can easily interrupt as well, and they are just better 😅) In short, Rogue DPS will be a mess in PvE as long as no buff rune is introduced. It means that the entire existence of the spec depends on its damage, which may be good (like in p1), or just mediocre (like in p2). I have 94-95 logs, so I am not the best player (Aramija - Living Flame EU in case you think I am bullshitting you), but if I was making an optimal comp, even I wouldn't take rogue atm. Arguments that Gnomer is too easy don't really apply here. It is easy, that is true, but if its easy, it will be even easier if you bring better classes which have raid buffs and so on, and it is in your interest to do so. Sry for the long rant.
Well to be completely honest it feels like Blizzard aren't even playing some of the classes in terms of what is needed to be fixed and how it actually is fixed (or lack thereof). P1 felt decent in comparison but right now me and my friends are debating wether we'll stick around for P3.
Gonna have to disagree with the Mage assessment. Fingers of Frost has been bugged and procs with frostbite exclusively, making it 100% useless. Ice Lance does 65 damage with a .15~ SP coefficient at lvl40 near BiS and with FoF being bugged it's even weaker. Icy Veins is completely unusable because of how strong living flame is. Arcane surge is unhealthy for the game, as a mage it feels terrible to use and get a kill (0 skill expression) and if it doesn't kill you just die because it costs 100% of your mana, it feels awful to play against as well. Frostfire/Spellfrost bolts do less damage than your baseline spells so there is no reason to press them or slot them. Essentially you have these options if you aren't healing. Chest: FoF, dead rune all the rest are good - 1 dead rune Legs: living flame or significant DPS loss - 1 dead rune, 1 rune that should be removed (arcane surge) Hands: Arcane Blast or Living Bomb - 1 dead rune Belt: Hot Streak if Fire, Missile barrage if not - 2 dead runes Boot: All are actually pretty decent 5 dead runes, all of which are frost sadly, which is also the lowest DPS spec in the game for the entire life of SoD according to Warcraft Logs.
Sniper Training is actually the go-to rune for Ranged Hunters right now. Because you don't have enough room to Meleeweave, it's this one Vs. Kill Command. And Kill Command is a LOT worse! Even on movement fight having 10% Crit on Shots 30% of the time is far more valuable. Hunter Leg runes are just really, really bad. Master Marksman is also decent as Melee Hunter if you have someone else for Kings. Carve has a niche for Beyblade AoE (aka Ravager Melee Hunter). The worst Hunter runes in my opinion are Invigoration, Steady Shot, Cobra Strikes and, most of all, Serpent Spread. Ordered from most to least buffable.
I’m leveling a paladin after 10+ years of exclusively playing priest on whatever version of wow I was playing I think beacon of light needs to be more interactive and not take up a GCD to apply. Let it share healing still while also proving a passive stat buff to the recipient OR a heal over time OR increased healing/crit chance from the paladin! Horn of Lordaeron needs to be buffed a little to make it worth taking over blessing of might. My rogues and ret pallies love it but it can be better.
This is one of the reasons i thought they should have added in the new spells to your trainer, and use the runes on gear to buff your spells or change them in some way creating more varied game play.
Serpent shot should make serpent sting scale with AP, similar to deadly brew on rogues. Or just rework, like a lot of hunter runes should be reworked anyway.
Don't worry. The fact that poisons scale for rogues doesn't prevent our class from being literally useless in PvE. Zero party buffs really hurts it. The damage is fine, but rogue just brings nothing to the table. Hopefully they fix it in p3.
Mind Flay is fantastic for dungeons and trash mobs along with shared pain. I top all AOE pulls over 4-5 mobs and constantly pull threat. I think for Shadow I use almost every rune for some reason. Its been really nice. VP is fine for more AOE spread. Twisted Faith is great for single target bosses.
Man I was so bummed about Shuriken Toss sucking as hard as it does. I was hoping Rogue would get some decent AoE, maybe not be literally unable to hit more than 2 targets at a time (1 target if you're Assassination), but Blizzard felt otherwise. :(
@@MoonTurky I'm already 9/9 in mythic Amirdrassil, 3500 io on my rogue, playing SoD with some friends. Unless this was a "play retail if u don't like it 🤓" comment then in that case you're a geek with no friends man, get a grip.
@@kat-rau. Gee, i am so sorry for hurting your feeling so badly. Didnt know wow basically is your life lmao. Relax man, its just a game. I take it you didnt try retail yet thats why you complain about SoD?
Poisoned knife is good for tanking and maybe dpsing tho shadow step might be better You are using mutilate which gets 20% damage bonus against poisoned target. Pulling with poisoned knife guarantees your first and second muti to do full damage. It has its uses
Lone Wolf is also usable for ranged hunters this phase, which brings us to a different problem... Also, some healers doing damage was 100% intentional. Mage is obviously to a much larger extent a healer dps, but fury of stormrage can't possibly have had a different intent
the different intent for fury of stormrage is to give druids a viable option for dpsing when mana is low/gone just like priest warlocks and mages being able to use their wand. The Shamans can use their melee weapons + can enchant them for bonus damage.
I actually think Serpent Spread is PvP BiS for ranged hunters. It allows you to multi+chimera for full damage at no additional mana or GCD cost, its a lot more damage over the course of a STV/BG than flanking strike. On a side note, I find it crazy how bad blizzard are at designing marksmen playstyles. Looking at other MMOs / MOBAs there are literally hundreds of playstyles for marksmen toons. But with all the runes in SoD the new marksman playstyle is... melee? It's so weird to me.
So here's the "issue" with the druid runes right now. I'm not going to call it a problem, because it honestly leads to a very fun play pattern I hope remains. But basically, healing is a binary in the game. You either have the healing to clear an encounter or you don't. And right now, Druids have healing and to spare between Wild Growth and your base HOTS. I've 1.5 healed Gnomer without Lifebloom, and using Starsurge to help fish for crits, and it's been absolutely no problem. This isn't bad, but it does mean as long as lifebloom is a sufficient healing rune to clear content, there's no reason to take nourish, living seed, or even lifebloom. The thing is, I don't hope they change this at all, it's actually really fun at the moment, and I'm super enjoying it. But to the extent that there are "issues" With the druid healing runes, it's just that at the moment their overkill for healing checks, and it's more fun to play with the other runes instead.
I mean if you cast HOTS like rejuv and regrowth I’m ngl you’re just playing the class wrong lmao and lifebloom is incredibly mediocre. You’re “supposed” to just use wild growth and various ranks of HT to heal while using starsurge and stuff to put out some dps
Disagree on Poisoned Knife - I find it extremely useful for solo kiting hard elites with crippling poison. If they're not immune - you can kill anything with just that one ability.
Also regarding resto druids trying to DPS instead of focusing on heals: No, I hate it. It's so annoying trying to tank Scarlet Monastery or Uldaman and the druid won't stop casting Wrath to give me a heal. I get the thing about the instant heal proc, but the time spent casting wrath is time a Druid could be spending casting a healing spell. It's just a bad build and playstyle that only works when your tank has a full set of tanking runes and pvp gear
Every single Hunter leg rune could be thrown as useless. Kill Command started off as its worse possible and most boring version, it acts as little more than 1 extra pet skill worth of damage every minute (already not ever worth taking) and then got nerfed further due to scorpid's bug, now only working on select pet skills instead of all skills as originally intended. This rune only ever had high % usage (bug aside) from Hunters who didn't know any better. Sniper Training should have a grace period after triggering it to allow you to move from mechanics, but it instantly falls off, it's something you throw in just in case you happen to stand still for long enough (and because there's nothing else to pick as ranged). Serpent Spread needs no explanation, even for solo dungeon AoE farming it's not worth the seconds it takes to rune switch. Finally Flanking Strike was always just a filler, even now in Phase2 with melee hunter being THE hot topic, our sole active melee rune is still just filler to the superior normal ability - when usually active ability runes on other classes are the exciting and overly damaging element, but not with us.
I will say, Blood Frenzy has been a fine choice when farming SM dungeons, IF you are not the tank and can just tab-target between many mobs. But in raids and such it is useless indeed.
Lonewolf is actually better now since Melee got nerfed (thankfully). that 30% damage from Lonewolf is worth it, if you are full survival tree. My pet was only doing about 10-15% of my damage as survival.
i can't even get sheathe of light, 4 gm responses later and they have all said: cant do anything, you should report the bug. as if i hadn't already done that
Okay, why the heck is everyone calling the Shamanistic Rage change a nerf? Because in a vast majority of use cases, it's a big buff. Before the change, a dual wield double rockbiter use of the skill would give me 65-70% refund, and to do this I'd need to mess around with a weapon swap macro. Now it's a baseline 75% mana (so more refund) without the annoyance of swapping back and forth between weapons, and making sure rockbiter is up on the other weapons. The only time the 75% mana refund would be considered nerfed was if you were max level and had absolutely trash gear with no int on it whatsoever.
I would like it if the Druids' WF glyph would get a nerf, either to the AP used for the calculation or the chance of the effect. So that enhancers remain in demand in the later game, yes, that's a shame for the alliance, but you can also adjust the glyph of hunters maybe 2% less, i.e. to 8% + all stats
Grimoire of Synergy is usefull if you lvling/do Q like afli (dots + haunt) to keep sustain, you have only 2 spells thats can crit, so in this scenario its better than Shadow and Flame. Invocation is trash, why ouy take it? On mobs? They die on one dots. On boss? Fire destro is da way.
Rune Balance is horrid right now and that's just bad design. Frost Mages picking Living Bomb over Ice Lance because it's objectively trash tier in both PvE and PvP. Many more examples but this one I found funny.
Twisted Faith is meta for Spriests on all bosses except menagerie still for PvE. Void plague also makes the rotation so clunky. Both do about the same in terms of DPS but Twisted Faith is better for faster kills and it’s easier to play
@WillEmmo: Maybe (Shuriken Toss) is good enough now to get the job done. Spoiler: it wasn't. Could cast it 3 times at a pack of mobs running at me to get Blade Dance running, and as soon as Whirlwind/Mind Seer/Chain Lightning/Living Flame touched them, instantly lost all threat. Rogue tank just feels really bad still, even with the 30% threat buff AND Alpha
what i did as a warrior, i went fury, aimed for the epic fist weapon to make every caster to 6% more damage, so for now im more of a support class, sunder, demo shout, commanding shout, improved shout and Rallying Cry and we have cleared the raid every reset so far
i do my part, supporting the top dps classes with my epic fist wep that gives casters 6% more damage, i sunder armor and i demo shout and warrior isnt the top dps class anyway, so it just shows yet again you have no idea what you are talking about @@MoonTurky
void plague and mind spike need a buff, shadowpriest dropping in meters every raid lockout , that sucks pretty hard. also nerf paladins in pvp, i think paladins shouldnt deal that much dmg in pvp when they have all these bubbles, freedom, lay on hands, stun
Twisted faith on priest should proc spirit tap when your mindblast crits!!! Or add mindflay and mindsear to the rune as well and it should also refresh SWP
I think they should change the Haunt rune for warlocks so that it increases all shadow damage done not just dot-damage, probably making shadow bolt a viable option again.
Oh man Willie didn’t mention the worst p2 warlock rune. INVOCATION. The quest is insanely annoying to do, it’s far worse than shadow flame. It’s an instant cast less than 150 damage ability that you have to use at very specific timings (between 5-6 seconds remaining on your dots) in order to even do that! And this is post BUFF. Completely useless.
Hot take: This is season of discovery, why does every rune need to be BiS? I like the idea of having runes that aren’t always used because maybe they become viable in the future? The idea of having a lot of different runes to play with excites me and allows for a lot of experimentation. It’s not blizzards fault the player base just wants to use what is considered best, that’s just how gamers are nowadays. But still, having the more casual friendly runes makes for a lot of unique and fun play styles if you ever want to just have fun.. I just don’t think they will ever be able to balance them no matter how many nerfs/buffs they apply.
All of the mana return runes for hunter are aweful and would NEVER be chosen now that we have Aspect of the Viper... they all need removed or completely revamped..
That's true but at the end of the day you still got viper as baseline ability. Paladins got their mana return in the form of a rune that nerfs your healing by 50% and our ability book just turned our awful 5min buffs to awful 10min buffs. I wish I could just swap to Aura of Wisdom or whatever like hunters can.

Priest main here, twisted fate competes in pve if checking a lot of top logs (especially as fights get shorter). And has very good pvp situations, like grp content where kill pressure matters. Give a spriest 3-4 secs of casting and a target is dead, 1.2k mind blast crits into a death.
give any caster 3-4 secs of casting and a target is dead
Rank 1 SP here I am the one who started using twisted faith, its better than void plague :)
Bro horn is literally 2 totems in 1 . And can't be kicked over like a 5hp totem lol😅

This said hunters really have one meme rune at the beginning of a phase while the rest is weak at best, except AoL and Trap launcher.
Melee hunter is a retarded idea in the 1st place. Clearly just some dev who wanted to change (Her) class.
Ranged hunters to much damage. Beating frost Mage. Better nerf hunter to keep them in line
Twisted faith actually bangs for Gnomergan bosses
it should buff mind spike dmg tho since that's our filler now, nobody uses mindflay for pve at least
@@UnoDPScan be helpful on the bombs sometimes
I think Blood Frenzy would be a lot cooler if it caused any bleed abilities or procs to also be applied to all nearby targets (or maybe up to 4 targets).
I for one still hope for a Smite-Priest rune settup. Two would be enough.
Something along the lines of:
Rune of the Inquisition.
@@bluburryyumyum1367 I feel like a potentially off healing smite priest has a bigger right to exist than an arcane healer.
Prayer of mending and circle of healing also vastly outperform holy nova and prayer of healing.
almost seems like warlocks shadowflame rune was originally meant for tanking but it doesn't give high threat currently so it's just bad.
I wish it was the Cata version of Shadowflame. It'd be soooo strong
The best part is you can get it around lvl 40, after you are done with leveling and dont need aoe threat
I HATE the "keep 80 rage to do more dmg" warrior rune.
So counter intuitive.
Nope.
I am convinced whoever made the warrior runes never played warrior in classic.
carve and lone wolf were played in prenerf full survi hunt build
but carve only because there is no other hand rune that fit with lone wolf melee. it was quite underwhelming even then
@@mandurrudnam7632 yeah it was kinda a filler spell on single target

Serpent spread gets 2 ticks of sting on several targets, which with my build is 250-400 per target, and performs well in raids as well
You may want to reconsider your stance on whether Blocking a Boss' attack is good or not. Blocking prevents crushes (150% dmg) and crits (200% dmg).
The award for biggest chip on your shoulder goes to this guy!
@@rottingcorpse6565 it’s just about what’s best for the raid. Don’t worry, you’ll get the next DFT

Rogues need a rune that gives a party buff. Idk what that would be but if you’re not gonna make rogues top dps than why take them?
Thanks for the info, good to see!
@@carlmcclatchie2122 I would say it’s more “it’s literally the only healing rune you need” sure single target healing is much harder cause you’re just trying to get Fury procs, but one healer can’t be the best at everything (or at least shouldn’t be)
I have yet to see a rewind time mage.
PvP healing. But it's niche and rare to see
Warrior definitely won the competition for worst/most boring runes in SoD
For real. Even the good ones are boring. Warbringer is the only fun one and it just feels like it shouldve been part of the base class kit
Both talents that allow backstab to crit more and do more damage also effect Mutilate hence why its so far ahead
Classic blizzard move, still not knowing how to properly develope basic things after 20+ years
Hunter Runes feel kinda like "We didn't know what to put in for Hunter so here is some Stuff".
Dishonorable mentions for paladin:
Infusion of Light is suppose to be a niche shockadin rune, but it shares slot with your biggest source of spellpower, Sheath of Light, which even with no strength gear gives over 100sp.
I wish they would nerf it to be group rather than raid wide. It's strange how it doesn't behaive like all other auras.
@@Leerillits because horde doesn't have blessing of kings.
I have found spellfrost bolt works great for me in a shatter shell that dips into arcane for arcane focus and subtlety to farm mobs that are levels 44-46 with pretty reliable success. Of course it also works great for farming water elementals and bypassing their frost cc immunity :D
the Rewind time on mages legit need to change slot: its a heal rune but share same slot as arcane blast: you know 1 out of 2 main spells to heal with
objectively the worst rune not even becuase the ability is bad but becuase it replaces a important piece of the whole idea of mage healer so make mage healer not work at all and only give arcane dmg via missiles that makes missiles barrage useless so that rune legit dont work with whole theirs concept of mage healer only becuase it share same rune slot with arcane blast + not helping it cost alot of gold to even get that rune
when I was leveling I tried shadowflame while farming library. fire shield from the imp was doing more damage per pull. shadow flame needs a serious scaling buff considering how crazy the other 2 boot runes are.
Maybe this way it would be somewhat worth it.
feral tank is in kinda weird spot aswell with lacerate and mangle on the same runeslot and beserk is not very good with lacerate
Serpent spread could change serpent sting to hit 3 targets and allow it to crit and scale from attack power, which also buffs chimera and actually lets ranged be somewhat viable
Sniper training should work similar to wotlk one where it has a lasting buff afterwards so it's playable
Carve does actually work with both weapons and has been buffed to 65% weapon damage however BM is the play for melee hunter at the minute which means we'd prefer the BM rune over carve
Steady shot lacks from us having faster, lower damage threshold, weapons and in TBC ranged weapons had a big dps buff compared to how vanilla ranged weapons are which is probably why steady shot feels so bad currently.
Sham is in a weird place, I dont think "shamanic rage" is that intuitive,
wish "way of earth" didnt have interrupt distance reduction, shams main function was interrupting and using totem, that's where the big skill cap came from.
If water shield was effective and didnt take up lava burst slot, there would be more interesting build option with less mana concerns
Twisted Faith is amazing in PvP. It makes Mindblast crit for over 1200 with decent spell power.
fr, I use twisted faith all the time unless doing some aoe trash.
All the warrior runes except warbringer
Warriors just got kicked in the balls
so ill be honest where is the tremor totem and horn of winter rune for paladin? horn is okish while leveling until you get DS but the antifear isnt utilized anywhere
The problem with the anti-fear aura is that it shares a slot with avenger's shield, which is way too good in pvp to pass on.
Blood Frenzy works with weapon procs, if you use the STV weapon, you can actually generate like 20 rage every 10 secs from bleeds, it’s decent.
He completely missed the problem with Rogue and focused on Rogue tank, which is objectively a less played spec than Rogue DPS.
So I am gonna cover (as a Rogue), why people don't take rogues into PvE grps:
The only thing we have is Kick for raid utility, and well, other classes can easily interrupt as well, and they are just better 😅)
In short, Rogue DPS will be a mess in PvE as long as no buff rune is introduced.
Chest: FoF, dead rune all the rest are good - 1 dead rune
Legs: living flame or significant DPS loss - 1 dead rune, 1 rune that should be removed (arcane surge)
Hands: Arcane Blast or Living Bomb - 1 dead rune
Belt: Hot Streak if Fire, Missile barrage if not - 2 dead runes
Boot: All are actually pretty decent
5 dead runes, all of which are frost sadly, which is also the lowest DPS spec in the game for the entire life of SoD according to Warcraft Logs.
For Soul Siphon, make it cap at 30% and hit up to 3 targets effected by your corruption.
Blood Frenzy works with weapon procs, if you use the STV weapon, you can actually generate like 15 rage per second from bleeds, it’s decent.
2:20 if ppl keep saying warrior is bad or "in a rough" spot im gonna snap
they are literally top loggers on low armor bosses
I’m leveling a paladin after 10+ years of exclusively playing priest on whatever version of wow I was playing
I think beacon of light needs to be more interactive and not take up a GCD to apply.
About warriors: Blood Surge is for PVE and Precise Timing is for PVP
poisoned knife is decent for pulling as a tank rogue. it guarantees deadly poison goes on a target so mutilate hits it properly.
Rogue has good aoe on retail, why dont you give that a try?
@@MoonTurky I'm already 9/9 in mythic Amirdrassil, 3500 io on my rogue, playing SoD with some friends. Unless this was a "play retail if u don't like it 🤓" comment then in that case you're a geek with no friends man, get a grip.
@@kat-rau. Gee, i am so sorry for hurting your feeling so badly. Didnt know wow basically is your life lmao.
Relax man, its just a game. I take it you didnt try retail yet thats why you complain about SoD?
@@MoonTurkyCrazy how quickly you backpedal after talking shit. Weak af. Go bother someone else, loser.
Poisoned knife is good for tanking and maybe dpsing tho shadow step might be better
You are using mutilate which gets 20% damage bonus against poisoned target. Pulling with poisoned knife guarantees your first and second muti to do full damage.
It has its uses
Bloodsurge and precise timing are both BiS runes. Precise timing is used with arms, and bloodsurge is used with fury.
And besides making wrath free it’s good for pvp
95% of rogue runes
I actually think Serpent Spread is PvP BiS for ranged hunters. It allows you to multi+chimera for full damage at no additional mana or GCD cost, its a lot more damage over the course of a STV/BG than flanking strike.
On a side note, I find it crazy how bad blizzard are at designing marksmen playstyles. Looking at other MMOs / MOBAs there are literally hundreds of playstyles for marksmen toons. But with all the runes in SoD the new marksman playstyle is... melee? It's so weird to me.
Cobra Strikes still has some usage, like if you already have a pally for kings and there are pet abilties that can't benefit from KC
I feel like paladins got a tremor totem they aren’t going to use just because blizzard didn’t want to give all priests fear ward.
Carve already does hit with both weapons, and has since day 1.
Carve already hits with both weapons.
Finally someone addresses these bad runes ! Thank you wille 🙏
On Druid it is pretty grief having to decide on wether to take Mangle or Lacerate. Those abilities are meant to be used in combination.
Rogue runes need A LOT of work
Rune Balance is horrid right now and that's just bad design.
Yeah warriors are cucks in p2 :D feels terrible to play in current raid on those high armor bosses. Also sucks a c*ck in pvp. Amazing class.
Sounds like you are being carried by nice people
sounds like you havent done the raid at all :)@@MoonTurky
@@Laems2809 Atleast you dont deny being carried, i am glad
i do my part, supporting the top dps classes with my epic fist wep that gives casters 6% more damage, i sunder armor and i demo shout and warrior isnt the top dps class anyway, so it just shows yet again you have no idea what you are talking about @@MoonTurky
void plague and mind spike need a buff, shadowpriest dropping in meters every raid lockout , that sucks pretty hard.
also nerf paladins in pvp, i think paladins shouldnt deal that much dmg in pvp when they have all these bubbles, freedom, lay on hands, stun
Honestly next step in P2 for Devs should be relocating rune abilities on diffrent slots for balancing purposes. no shame in that. :)
Willy - incorrectly about Carve
It is already hits with both weapons
All of the mana return runes for hunter are aweful and would NEVER be chosen now that we have Aspect of the Viper... they all need removed or completely revamped..
That's true but at the end of the day you still got viper as baseline ability. Paladins got their mana return in the form of a rune that nerfs your healing by 50% and our ability book just turned our awful 5min buffs to awful 10min buffs. I wish I could just swap to Aura of Wisdom or whatever like hunters can.
