Some people have to suck the life out of anything that another person may find fun they are so miserable going through life they hate to see someone enjoying life I enjoy the history you are sharing thank you and keep them coming 🤠

Thanks, Ken for another wonderful video! I worked my last 13 years in the CT State Capitol Building, before I retired.

Northern Vermont is so stunning. I purchase Ben and Jerry's all the time at the grocery store. Will definitely plan a vacation in that area soon. Thank you Ken and Lauren.

That was a nice trip out, even though the weather was a bit gloomy. Your personalities brightened things up. Part of the enjoyment watching your videos is how you talk to the camera and chat on these trips.
It’s like hanging out with friends 😊

On route 2, I’ve been there picking up at the paper mills and going from or to New York and Maine. Slow road for over the road trucks. And being 72’ 6” long and 102” wide. Thumbs up 👍 Maple 🍁 save the Maple 🍁

In 1978 I was travelling through the Burlington area and figured we'd visit the UVM campus and the underground mall. We got sidetracked and stopped for ice cream at a gas station-turned-ice cream parlor. The service bay is where they made the ice cream. They had a single bathroom, clearly marked "Uni-Sex". It was run by a guy named Ben and his buddy Jerry. True Story!

Nice road trip that ended up with flying monkeys. So happy cows don't fly but monkeys get into everything. Just statues on a furniture building as a reminder of The Wizard of Oz flying monkeys.

I could understand Bren Alvarez's frustration trying to get something built! Nice, I like the flying monkeys on the Burlington train station! So Steve Laraby made flying monkeys. Those whale tails on the side of the road were crazy looking too! Thanks for this Ken and Lauren. I really like your field trips you take together! Nice drone footage at the end!

Good Morning Ken and Lauren ; I enjoyed your winter journey to Montpelier and to the worlds tallest THIS in Burlington. The only thing it brings to mind is the US Capital Building in Washington DC when you talk about RED TAPE !!! It Was nice to see Lauren come center stage and share her beautiful smile and laugh. It would have been nice if you had stopped at the capital and spent a few minutes, instead of the 10 second drive by. My daughter have taken a road trip from the middle of New Hampshire to visit your capital, it is nice to get out and view it from several vantage points and to read about some of its history. Just a suggestion about the Stowe area to add is the Stowe Inn where you can get a wonderful meal with homemade bread and maple butter with your meal. (yum). Also worth a drive just up the road from downtown Stowe is Smugglers Notch , I don't know if you could catch it on video very well but it sure has some interesting history as well and I'm sure you hear about truck drivers who venture up the road only to get stuck and make the evening news. Ha, Ha. Again love these videos with you and Lauren , keep them up.

:38 my neck of the woods... I knew exactly where you're at when you flipped the camera to front view lol. Rt2 @ Thistle hill. I have a video on my channel flying my drone over this area to the top of the mountain. Marshfield dam over to the left.
That syrup place between Marshfield and Plainfield supposedly has different types of tree syrups to try....not just maple.
The whales tails are the original tails but not the original location. The original location in Randolph (just off 89) has new tails in place....much better view. There's a whole story about it but too much to mention.
Thanks so much for this video!

Do you remember when those whale's tails were in Randolph back in the 1990s? Then they were moved to Williston during the 2000s and eventually new whales tails were erected in the same location in Randolph, across from Rinker's gas station just off exit 4.

Is the filing cabinet kept locked? . . . just wondering. I was waiting and hoping that you were going for ice cream at Ben & Jerry's. Thank you for showing us the highlights of the area. 😊

Given I doubt you drove all the way to Burlington just for those sites, how did the visit with the doctor for your wrist go? Speaking of sites, the apple cider donuts, fresh off the cooker, at the Cold Hollow cider mill in Waterbury in the fall are great. YEARS ago we would stop at the mill and refill our gallon jug ourselves on the way to my in-laws in Stowe. Can't do that anymore, prefilled only. They make excellent apple cider!
The Whale skeleton was found in the mid 1800s in Charlotte some miles south of Burlington.
The Southern Connector/Champlain Parkway is back on as of last year. It is going to dump out onto Lakeside Ave rather than go all the way to Main St (near where the Flying Monkeys are) as originally planned. They will have to repave the entire 2/3 mile section that was originally built, but never opened 30 years ago, from where 189 stops at Rt 7/Shelburne Rd (including the cloverleafs) to Home Ave. Past that is the 2/3 mile section that will have to be cleared and a road built. Frankly I don't see the value since Lakeside is a small street and all the traffic will have to get off there and take a short hop to Pine St before turning back north to get into the city. Pine is the current alternate route paralleling Rt 7. Glad I don't live just south of the bottom of Pine anymore, getting to my prior house from Burlington will be a lot harder with the connector built.

Randolph had those whale tails at the end of the off ramp. I'm guessing those are the same ones that used to be on exit 4.

They either make port-a-potties or dual-purpose telephone booths. This reminds me of another odd business. In the 1970's I worked for an international chemical company (ICC Industries) that made urinal blocks at one of its subsidiaries to sell to the Soviet Union.
