@@BeachcliffStudiosyeah I saw it on the app. The mistletones 4:30-4:50. I didn't know about the trolley deal. I saw it, but didn't know what it was for. That would be cool to ride. It's been our black Friday tradition to go since 2018 also. We have a big group that goes. This year we had 14.
I can't ice skate either. Last year my wife and daughters skated while I did single rider on Mystic...gonna give it a go This year though! Happy Holidays!
I think you guys are on to something with the crowd to ride ratio. I knew not much was open but with being 15 minutes away from the park and having a meal plan it was a why not. My kids liked dancing to the various music they had but if budget cuts forced cuts, winter fest is one I could handle. My wife thought I was nuts but I have to get in a cold mystic ride. I was all smiles until I was told to remove my hat then my mostly bald head was less than thrilled 😂
They did a great job this year decorating and looks like you guys had a great time. Seen the photos you shared as well they're good photos of you guys too. Have a great day guys.

They even added 2 rides this year and the lines were still long, maybe they could add BLSC since it's in the middle of the park next year, or the new coaster in Planet Snoopy to help with the crowds, this is good for the park, so happy about that. I am hoping to go for NYE!
While yall were there. I was in tennesee for dollywood..loved big bear mountain...and I'm officially comparing it to maverick just tamer...and then wild eagle which is the orion of wing coasters...everything except tennesee tornado was 85 mins...
Winterfest is starting to get big as its the first time it's starting to run consecutively and build momentum. KI Winterfest was the original seasonal park Christmas event when it launched in the 80s, but only lasted a few years as Taft/KECO couldn't really figure out how to make it profitable. Paramount eventually decided to bring it back, but only for a year as they sold their parks to CF the next year & CF canned the event. Then Cedar Fair brought it back in 2017 only for Covid to cancel the event again. 2024 will mark the most years its run in a row (unless if Six Flags cancels it). The best plan is plan to get most of your rides in in the first & last 30min of the event (last hour if it is a cold night). While normally always true for a park, it is especially true for Winterfest. If you can tolerate the cold, the last 30min on a night in the low 30s/20s can be the best time to marathon Mystic all year. And Mystic is honestly at its best with a bite in wind and a slight flurry. It is between the first and last hours that you should focus on the shows, displays, food, and upcharge activities like ice skating.
No six flags management is part of the decision making process so it’s probably safe. Whether they keep the name winterfest or holiday in the park remains to be seen

It is a 5-6 hour drive for us, and as all-park season fastlane holders, we didn't realize that fastlane wouldn't work during this event. Not sure the lines would be worth it for us, given the huge crowds and the long drive. Does look beautiful though. Too bad Cedar Point doesn't do something similar.
The week before & the week of Christmas KI Winterfest is open through the week (except on Christmas day). If you visit visit Tue-Thur, especially the week before Christmas, you should get a lot less crowds.
Seems like it's more about the lights and festivities vs the rides. They should add BLSC to the list of coasters, unless LIM's don't do well in the cold. Maybe add Adventure Express as well? Rides that they will never add: Orion- while B&M's can handle the cold, going 91mph in 30 degrees is not going to be pleasant at all Diamondback- same reason as Orion except it goes 80mph The Beast: wayyy too much track to clear off if if snows, plus don't want to add stress to it in the cold because of it's age The Racer: don't want to add stress because of it's age

Sad to see that huge empty plot of land where Vortex stood. Really changed the Skyline of Kings Island. It would have been nice if they could have saved Vortex. Dang Arrow cheapo coasters. Gee i wonder how much longer until Magnum will be taken down at Cedar Point? Its an Arrow, so surely the life of Magnum has to be getting near......😮

Our group waited over an hour for mystic last night. They finally got the tree I'm the shed.

Maybe if you went both Friday and Saturday it would be more worth the drive.
