Just came back from Ferrari world FORMULA ROSSA WAS INSANE I LEFT MY SOUL THERE AND THE LIFT ON FLYING ACES FEELS LIKE A LAUNCH AND THE BACK IN THE DROP IS INSANE also all night rides
I’ve always said winterfest mystic feels faster than on a warm summer day. No clue why but it does. Also 50 degrees in December feels like summer in southwestern Ohio is practically summer.
was just at Winterfest a couple Sundays ago and the crowds were super light! i wish they would run the racer for Winterfest. I'm a local and go every year just to ride mystic.
I wish they would have the Racer open too. Hell, even the Beast if there's no snow. Seriously though, how does Mystic feel the same in December, as it does in July? I love it. I'm about 3 1/2 hours away, and we make several trips to winterfest every year. The kids love it. We do the ice skating, and decorating cookies with Mrs Clause, hell, we do it all. I REALLY miss the petting zoo they did. Those were actually the animals from the CP petting zoo, not all of them, but at least my camels were there. Sam and Artie are the best.
I like Kings Islands Winter fest, but it just bothers me that there are only two coasters open. I know that there are problems with the weather during winter, but at Carowinds, Fury is open, so Diamondback could possibly be open. Other than that, Winterfest at Kings Island is still amazing.
i’ve never been to KI winterfest but here in NC it is usually not too cold, and your right, Fury runs almost every night at Carowinds winterfest. I wonder if it’s just the temp that causes these differences
We went last year the day after Thanksgiving. Got there at 5.00 when they opened, went straight to BooBlasters and the line was just like it was here. Really wish they had FastLane available during WinterFest since the lines are unbearably long, even for rides like Scrambler and Carousel. Glad you all had a nice time despite the crowds and thanks for sharing!
I really wish they would too. I buy all season fast lane for the family, and not being able to use it sucks there. Utilize the single rider line though. Last year at FOF they were sending us through like it was fast lane😂. Maybe it's because we are there so much, but idk.
Only if it's a Mack extreme spinner! Or a new gen Vekoma like the one they rode in Europe. The name is escaping me here, but they loved it, and the on ride looks amazing.
@@nathanpayne5358 absolutely not, but that should go back behind Banshee. Matter of fact, they should use the SoB station, or at least the station location, since apparently the SoB station is condemned. The RMC should be what replaces SoB, and the extreme spinner, or a Vekoma should go to the Vortex plot.
We were supposed to go to Winterfest on Thursday night but didn't end up going because I'd been sick all week and thought better of being outside for several hours after dealing with all the illness. We're going up there next week now and hopefully the crowds are a bit lighter. Glad you guys enjoyed your trip to my home park! =)
I haven't watched this yet or rode that coaster yet. But like 3 years ago I went to Hersheypark Christmas candy Lane and rode the original wildcat in the cold twice and both times it was amazing. Totally smooth and enjoyable. GCIs or wooden coasters in general must ride better in the cold and or eliminates any roughness. Although I understand the coaster you're talking about doesn't normally have that much roughness to begin with! By the way i was in your six flags america superman on ride reaction bug in the face video from 2 years ago lol. I was on the train like 6 rows back. And saw you guys in the station and all. Should have said hi but didnt... Next time...
I thought that was you a saw at kings island I was up in Indiana visiting family and I was in the cafe at 9:45 I wanted to say something and saw you recording but I got nervous and didn’t, probably won’t get another chance to meet you but it was cool seeing you
Orion and Banshee might be able to handle winterfest. Diamondback can't because the splashdown is part of the breaking mechanism, and a freeze would be problematic to put it lightly. Also imagine how it would ruin someone's time if they wound up in the splashzone in the cold of winterfest. That's just my guess. Diamondback will never be added to winterfest though because of that, even if they decided to make it enthusiast oriented.
CF didn't run rides beyond manufacturer's specs so a B&M wouldn't go below 40 in any case, e.g Banshee. I wonder if there is any chance that could change, although not many ex-CF parks are as far north and operable for Winterfest. Def. could have helped KD this week though.
@@spentron1 If Nitro at their sister park and Candymonium can run in the winter, so could Banshee and Orion. Even if they required fitting. Diamondback isn't going to happen though because of the splashdown. That said I wouldn't be surprised if Diamondback related to why they won't spend the money for it. Winterfest is plenty successful as is, they'd probably be spending more money than they'd get back.
@@urbex_coasters Great Adventure ignores manufacturer's spec, and also their crew is great at changing wheels etc. to make them work. One time I was there heard it took blowtorches to open Ka. 38 degrees front row in November... Also I think SF is self-insured. No idea if that will change. May just lose some winter events.
For some reason I remember a video from a couple years ago from Kings Island’s Winterfest when Lucas was working there. Was Taylor not there then? I could be mistaken as well.
Dang great america won't even open goliath in the winter, but Kings island ill open their woodie. SFGAM only opens steel coasters for their winterfest thing. edit: They coulda opened banshee, orion, etc... B&Ms work fine in the cold. I went on raging bull and og batman at sfgam couple years ago when it was snowing.
we didn't think of this when we said that, but that is so true! I'd love to hear their excuse for Banshee though... that DEFINITELY could run in the winter
@@CoasterStudios it was only $20 to ice skate but I’ll run into you guys somewhere I’m going to Carowinds and kings dominion in March and Dorney Park and Michigans adventure in May more credits for me this year
The B&Ms would not be worth the effort because it’s very rare for it to be above 40 for them to operate and Kings Island won’t run them if it’s below 40. I’d rather them get all their maintenance done and be ready for opening day.
Awesome guys! If I had to add three things to Winterfest, I'd.... 1) Open up Adventure Express, put Santa hats on the monyets at the end, and when they move their arms at the end, tie gift boxes on it because that would be cute AF. 2) The Pirate Ship, dress up a life-sized Santa and put it in the seating and in the background via soundtrack, have that thing scream "Harr Harr Harr" instead of "Ho ho ho pimp hoe like the real Santa. This Santa will have a peg leg, Santa hat, grey beard, a massive dong, and a parrot. It would be wicked as sh*t" 3) Open up the Charlie Brown Race log flume, but instead of water, have it on ice, when you hit the bottom, you get blasted with a dusting of snow. That would be sick as a bastard. Winterfest looks sweet though. Good work

I love Mystic Timbers, but The Beast is my top fave. 😊
Same here. Beast at the top, then Mystic, then the B&Ms.
I saw you guys the night before this was recorded. Loved to finally meet you guys after being a fan for so so long!!

I went to winterfest December 18th and it was in the 30s and windy enough that mystic timbers wasn’t running

Lots of rides are better in the cold, something about the cold wind hitting you.
I don't get how the B&Ms are closed. It can't be because of the temperature can it?
I personally prefer Thunderhead & GhostRider over Mystic Timbers
Can I ask what’s your reasons why??
@laager3223 I think Thunderhead is way more intense & GhostRider for me has more airtime especially after the mid course brake run
FACT, I got way more airtime on thunderhead than mystic
I have Thunderhead slightly ahead of Mystic, and Prowler by far ahead of all other GCIs.
I think mystic timbers is ridiculously overhyped Ghostrider was levels better
