I bought a pony in 2005 with a blown motor for 30.00 i bought a new motor for it took me 20 minutes to replace it. it has run solid ever since. i am a scout leader and my scouts have used it every year for aeration. not a problem. Good mower in my opinion.
Just took delivery of a Pony model today. Can hardly wait to use the plow for winter. Plowing tip from someone who grew up in snow country; Angle your blade to the side, for less stress on the frame, and more pushing oomph. ;-D Thanks for sharing this with us.
I have a 2007 troy-bilt pony. I mow 2 acres of lawn and I have to fix the mower about once every two weeks. I will NEVER buy another Troy-Bilt anything. It is good if you want to learn how to be a lawn tractor mechanic though. I hope you are having better luck with yours. Mine may have been assembled wrong at the factory or something. My wife bought it brand new in 2007 and had to take it back at least once a month under the warranty. When I complained to Troy-bilt they didn't want to help.
Home Depot, and Lowe's as well as straight from Troybilt. Way cheaper than the $1300 USD snowblower! This is the model you want for the Pony www.troybilt.com/equipment/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&productId=1852461&urlRequestType=Base&langId=-1&catalogId=14102 Check Home Depot and Lowe's for their pricing
I work for Lowes. You're NOT supposed to plow with a Pony. Of course they MAKE a plow for it... it's all about what these companies can make to get more money from you. Doesn't mean it's a wise idea. Think about it this way. Do you really think a $900 tractor is designed for plowing? It's a riding mower... nothing more.

Nice vid i might put a plow for mine this winter got the same one as yours
Over time, how has it held up for plowing snow? Transmission in particular.
if you use the chains they will give more traction and make it able to move more snow more efficiently.
wet snow nice job
to plow do u have 2 take blades off?

Thank you very much!!!!
did u remove the mower? because i have the one with mower
You can see the mower deck was removed in the video. ;-D
Would you guys get that at I need one for a 20 horsepower Troy-Bilt
Where can you get it at
Have you tried plowing dirt or gravel?
only pushes loose dirt/gravel as it does not have any downsards force pressure(on this setup).
the transaxle wont last too long ....under heavy push or pull load it will kill its self wont be nothing but grinds
