Soumitra Chatterjee inaugurates 31st International Film Festival of India

A sound of traditional drumbeats, a queue of luminaries of cine world, rendition of Sanskrit shlokas Siri Fort Auditorium on the 10th of January and the 31st International Film Festival of India was off to a colorful start and as usual, the festival began with the customary speeches. The Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dixit spoke about her love for cinema.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mr. Arun Jaitley assured the Indian Film Industry with all possible help. The festival was inaugurated by the chief guest Mr. Soumitra Chatterjee the doyen of Bengal cinema with the ceremonial lamp with some assistance of Karishma Kapoor.
The Bollywood heartthrob had been brought in to provide the necessary color and tinsel to the atmosphere.
