    Four months is a long time. I am sure after going away and returning to some great surprises, your feeling s have changed. No worries, we all feel it!💓! My string of turtles kept growing with such tiny leaves. I don't have a greenhouse nor Ikea cabinet. I put it in a Ziploc bag and it began growing huge leaves with beautiful veining. So much is light and humidity change. You are a good plant Mom!🤩😍💓!

      Oh maybe that’s it! I’ll try upping the humidity, thanks!

    This is your first video I've watched and it's funny how our tastes change huh?! I didn't particularly like "string of" or "chain of" plants a couple months ago and I now have a variegated chain of hearts, a string of turtles and a string of bananas :D To be fair I only purchased one of the three!
    Random question - I keep thinking I can hear a hint of some other accent than US in your voice is that right?

      Exactly! I wasn’t expecting my opinion to change so quickly though. And yes, my husband is British so I’ve picked up a bit of the way he speaks

    I relate to this. I’ve gotten into plants hard kind of suddenly after a very long slow warm up and I’ve learned so much in 2 months! And my tastes have changed too.

    Thank you for this video! It’s funny how our plant preferences can change. As a rule I like fat fluffy plants, however, I added three more of the more uncommon Sansevieria to my group this year and I’m thrilled to have them. For whatever reason, I have a greater appreciation for just the structural elements of these plants. Who knew?! 👌🌿🥰💚

    Awww, this was a sweet video. I always say we make the best decisions at the time with the information that we have. When we get new information, we make different decisions. Thanks for sharing and being vulnerable. You're welcome to like and dislike whatever you want whenever you want. ;-)

    Love healthy tradescantia s but they NEVER grow well for me and start going crispy/leggy on the top every time I get one. Not getting any more even tho I do love them !

      I agree. They are beautiful when others have them. Mine do get leggy. I do have a few that have remained beautiful. I will not purchase any more 🙃

    That is part of being human. Our mood and opinion always changes. I used to own ZZ and snake plants too but they died due to overwatering. Now I have grown more experience but don’t think i get them again. They were slow grower for me. Good luck for your choices.

    I love my raven ZZ plant and I bought it online. When I first learned about ZZ plants I didn’t like them but I eventually got the raven and it’s one of my favorite plants. It’s slow growing for me though.

    I can TOTALLY relate to your taste in plants massively changing a further on in your time collecting them! I got into houseplants kind of fast and furious and, looking back, there were TONS of plants that I had no interest in or even thought were ugly..and now, of course, I have HALF of those plants!😆🤷 Once I really got into them I just began to appreciate the subtleties in plants that I didn't get before!

    Idk, I actually recently watched that video. All of your reasons for not vibing with the plants were totally valid. Zz and snake plants do grow super slow and kinda don't do much in low light, hoya get into everything and grow tendrils everywhere with no leaves. Lol
    You didn't mention this but Alocasia, Syngonium, and Ficus have be checked constantly for spidermites. 🤯
    I still love all of these plants My only reason for regretting any of my plants is when I rush to get a plant and get it smaller, more expensive, and less happy than I would have if I had just been patient and waited for a big healthy version.
    Otherwise I only buy plants that I'm familiar with, have a good spot for in my home for, and am in love with so I rarely have regrets..... except for constantly buying and killing birds nest ferns and calathea. Lol

    When i dont like a plant I sell it off on facebook and buy plants that i actually like. You can keep a propagation for yourself and sell the plant. Just an idea.

    All I ask of you is "be true to yourself" ... don't just change your mind on how you feel because of some fan hate comments that you received on a previous video! I'm not saying that you did this video to make some sort of amends to your fans, but I certainly hope that you didn't! There's a lot of plants that I'm not crazy about myself. ZZ is one of them, an I have one! Arrowheads are another, always die on me. String of pearls, tears, dolphin, fish hooks, I can't keep them alive no matter how many times I've bought them. Hoya Hindu Rope & any plant in the Prayer Plant family, always has mealy bugs! I could go on & on but the fact is.... some plants are more trouble than what they are worth for me! I've got over a 100 plants in my apartment and I'd much rather have a plant that's not so much trouble in my collection! I already have a ZZ, Hoya Hindu Rope an a Prayer Plant but once they die or I can find someone who wants them, I most likely won't ever purchase them again! I will try a Arrow Head plant again someday, hopefully it won't die the next time around like the others! I can only wish! lol 😂 Everyone has different tastes an not everyone has the same environment to grow different plant species. Once you learn which plants that you can grow in your home, then stick to those species mostly. Sure we all love a lot of plants an will try multiple times to grow them or try growing ones that we never did. Which is fine, But, once you try multiple times on the same plants an keep failing at them... You sometimes just have to realize it's time to QUIT!!! Why waste more money buying them??? You have every right as a person to like, love or hate any plant on the planet! Don't feel guilty about that!!! If people would be honest, we all have plants we like, love or hate too! Best of luck with all your collection & happy growing! ❤️🤗

      I felt the same way like why are you “redeeming” yourself??? Your opinion is yours and the people on here can have there’s but be a true person it kinda turned me off of this Chanel a little I’m not gonna lie.

    • @Sheryl1026
      @Sheryl1026 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@summerk9499 I felt like she was doing the same but, I'm not her so I really can't accuse her of that. I don't know what she was feeling. I just hope she wasn't! There's no reason for her to do so! It just sounded like like that when I watched it. So I re-watched it again an thought I'd comment that it's ok if she doesn't like a plant, some are just not our cup of tea.. we are all different an that's ok!

    • @thepetiteplant
      @thepetiteplant  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hahaha it’s alright guys I’m still being true to myself. Using the word “redeem” and that was more of a joke tbh. I bought some of the plants I used to “dislike” because I genuinely thought they were cute when I saw them in the shop, not because I want more people to agree with me. This video was just to show a genuine change in opinions. I still dislike the majority of snake plants for example, in the video I was simply saying that I’d give a smaller snake plant another try but I’m not sure I’d even like it. I’m stubborn as hell so my opinion isn’t easily swayed by other people’s view of me

  • @alexiabailey905
    @alexiabailey905 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’ve been that way. There are certain plants that I always thought oh I’ll never get that because I just didn’t think they looked good and then later on I changed my mind and those are some of my favorite plants now so it’s normal to feel one way and then four months later feel completely different we all do it LOL

    I relate to this way too much 😆 How about other way around? I have wanted some plants for long time, but once I see them in rl, I’m like “pass”. Watermelon peperomia was one of these plants for me.

    • @thepetiteplant
      @thepetiteplant  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely! It happened more at the start of me getting plants, I’d buy plants just because people I knew loved them and then I found out I didn’t like them as much as I thought

    I believe we all have certain plants that are hard for us to grow. I can't grow peace lily. I do love my sansevieria. They never give me a problem. Just a yellow leaf if I am bad and give too much water! But that is what is easy about them. I went 3 months in the winter without watering my big one!! If you ever want a small one, check out 916 plant mommy. Unfortunately she stopped posting videos. You might like a starfish sansevieria? 👍🌿🍃🌞
