Hi Ajay: Interesting video of Old Delhi. People in New Delhi hardly visit that area unless there is a need. I remember as a college student, I would go there only to look for certain second hand text books.

The name CHANDNI CHOWK means the zone of silver. CHANDNI means silver, chowk means zone or in Tamil PETTAI. Silver ware was the main trading commodity here. The nearby MEENA BAZAR was famous for ladies items like jewelry and makeup items. Chawri Bazar next to Jama Masjid even today is famous for house construction materials. In 1984 February I had visited Chawri Bazar and purchased tiles for my new house under construction in Coimbatore. The tiles were for fixing on the walls in our kitchen and bath-toilet. I could get them at less than half the prices of Coimbatore shops.

@@km-fl2gb Yes you are right. But even if you add transport cost it was much less than Coimbatore price. In my case I had an official trip to New Delhi for a two day meeting. After that engagement I took three days leave before I left by train to CBE. I stayed three days with my mother’s sister at Karol Bagh. My cousin took me to Chawri Bazar At this place there are pucca shops with tax registration and cash bills. Only genuine company items are sold in these shops. I got Kajaria tiles. In the train I weighed the cartons at the station and paid extra charges to transport them in the luggage van of the train. At two way side stops I got down and went to the luggage van to see they are all safe. At CBE I transported them in a cab boot. Only twelve tiles had broken in the journey. But calculating possible breakage I had purchased 30 tiles more than my requirement.

Used the executive lounge twice with family. It is very expensive.
IRCTC lounge is 200 rupees for 1st 2 hours and that is incluisve of the below one's. Lounge is basically for small waiting time like 2 hours stay to board the train.
The rates of Executive Lounge, Platform-16 are as under, Entry fee for initial 2 hours: Rs.200/- per person "Exclusive of all taxes". Services included in the entry fee:-
1. Two hours stay
2. Free Wi-Fi
3. Soft beverages (tea, coffee, sharbat)
4. Newspaper and magazine reading
5. Train information display and announcement
6. TV
7. Toilets and urinals
