Having my kids have a nightly chore for the week has really helped. Still not perfect but definitely helps. I give them a room to clean or help me with the dishes. I rotate them but give them the same chore for the week, that way they know what to do.
My kids just learned how to fold towels and blankets. They wanted to learn how. They also wanted to help with laundry, so I showed them how to do the socks. I hate doing socks, but they love finding the matches. They feel so proud when they fold. They also will make their bed. Win win.
Thanks for the video. Something that has helped my house is when my kids need a break after a lesson I set a 5 minute timer on my phone. They get to play, watch a show, color, etc. but I also get that 5 minutes to do a chore or meal prep or just breathe. We have come to learn that when that timer goes off it’s time to get back to the table and do another lesson. My kids are 5 and 6 and we are starting first grade in a few weeks and this hack was our saving grace the last two years while learning how to homeschool and live life and be a family.
I just love this Gina. You are sharing the true hardships and struggles, but also the amazing and incredible work we are called to do. So blessed (in all the mess)! 😂😂❤❤❤ Editing bc now I feel like crying bc all the things that are “a lot” and the mess….are our true lives work. These babes will grow up and move into their own adult lives. And man, that hits me hard. Working on it! Goals for this year! My grandma always said this about housework, “It’ll keep!”
Loving this series. It is indeed harder to cook/clean and homeschool at the same time especially younger kiddos who arent independent in their school work. But I wouldn't ever trade it by puttong them in public/private school. Too many benefits to homeschooling.
Hi❤ love your content all the time:) I have an unrelated question.. when you plan your days or your weeks, do you add your kids chores on your to do list??
Hi love!! Thank you for your kind words! I usually make each of the kids a to do list and give it to them so they can check it off themselves! They love checking off the things otf the list lol
“If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will-to your surprise-miss them profoundly.” - Thomas S. Monson I struggle with this topic as well, but it helps me (most of the time!) knowing it will only be for a small moment. My kids are growing and I'm now going to have a middle school kid. Can't believe it's gone so fast! My mom was very much OCD when I was growing up. She would be cleaning all the time. Because of that, for some reason (trauma or something), I do not like cleaning. Yes I still clean the home and we don't live in a pigsty, but it's hard for me to care as much. My husband actually does most of the cleaning because he has ADHD and always needs to be moving. Thank goodness for him! Also, laundry wise, we just put the kids clothes in fabric storage cubes. I used to fold the laundry, but they would always unfold it while finding their clothes to wear, so I gave up! Best decision and it has saved so much time!

Thank you for sharing your experiences! I think once we build our home, I'm going to have bins, too, for laundry!
Ugh, I’m not crying- you’re crying. Time goes by too fast.
Way too fast!!
