When Brock lost the belt to Cain - BEFORE he resigned w/ WWE - Brock crossed paths with Undertaker as he was leaving the cage. Undertaker asked "You wanna do it?" Brock looked at him & walked off w/o answering. Speculation said WWE wanted Brock vs Taker @ Wrestlemania. When Dana was asked if he would allow it he said "no! I won't blur the lines between UFC & WWE." Brock retired voiding his UFC contract, joined WWE, & NOW Dana is saying a dual-contract is possible when b4 he wouldn't have it.
He came in with a record of 1-0, fought nothing but top contenders, won the heavyweight championship from the greatest heavyweight in UFC history, avenged a loss to a 2-time heavyweight champion, all within like 3 years. And he was the biggest box office draw in UFC history. If that's not a Hall of Fame candidate, I don't know who is.
Who seriously complains about slightly shaky video? The camera is good, the audio is good, they're synched up correctly and jostling for position is part of the press job description.
Sorry but look at who he beat, the only stand out name is Couture who was really a l'heavy + was old as hell, a muscle bound Carwin + Min Soo Kin (who), Heath Herring (who), etc It was a great piece of matchmaking that Bob Arum would have been proud off. Every fresh guy he fought battered him, now he's at wwe ! which is were he belongs, thge guy was more a novelty act than anything else. Of course props still for getting in the cage tho, but he's not top level.
Yeah, it is certainly not for everybody. Also, a lot of people dont know this, but there are two types of weed: Indica and Sativa. Indica - basically couch weed, will not make you productive, might give you paranoia, but will however help people with anxiety disorders and give pain relief. Sativa has a completely different high. It will make you think and actually help your mind process thoughts more efficiently. Will also reduce depression, energize you, increase focus and creativity.
I respect Dana White quite a bit because he always comes across as honest. He's not trying to spin things to make himself seem awesome or anything like that. He tells it like he sees it and even if you don't agree with the things he says, you can at the very least appreciate his honesty.
chael and anderson both really have something in common, they have both only lost by submissions and lost by TKO once (yes silva did get tkoed once and sonnen once only too)
He was an NCAA World Champion, he beat Frank Mir who just recently was a number 1 contender, he retired Heath Herring, won the world title regardless of who against in his 4th MMA fight, was to first man to beat Shane Carwin who had knocked out all of his opponents in the first round and came back from a life-threatening condition (Diverticulitis). Enough Said.
not true. Anderson lost to Yushin Okami at Rumble on the Rock in Hawaii by disqualification due to an illegal kick to a downed opponent. its bogus too if you ask me because Anderson was on his back and had Yushin in his guard. the fight couldve gone on but okami said he couldnt continue thus eliminatind Silva from the fight and the tournament.
what is amazing to me is that some of these fighters don't watch the UFC fights and press conferences - if they watched all these press conferences they would have an idea of what Dana White wants, and the kind of stuff that he doesn't want. Basically he wants you to be as clean and quiet and professional and respectful outside the ring and as agressive as possible in the ring. Sometimes I think certain fighters were released unjustly but they should have figured some of this stuff out..
Chael didn't do steroids. He had a testosterone injection administered by his doctor for health reasons and he reported that to the proper offices. The steroid myth was started on ESPN by a commentator who had no idea what he was talking about. But Chael was not on steroids and his testosterone levels were within normal parameters.
i had been a casual UFC fan but after seeing the first silva fight i became a Chael fan especially seeing him on Joe Rogan's podcast. His overall MMA record is not perfect, but he is not the same man he's been since 2009 and since then his losses have only been to silva (if you want to count his first with silva a loss which Chael clearly doesnt) i think on a third rematch chael will finally take him. in 100 fights, Silva would beat him 25 times, the odds just havent been in chael's favor.
Maybe you did not hear that stuff went down backstage afterwards. As you can see Dana does not want to talk about it, but if it is enough for Dana to fire him, then it must of been bad. These guys are professional athletes, and they need to act like it.
He should be in the HoF for what he did for the UFC. He drew millions of eye balls to the UFC and made everyone in the UFC more money, including all the other fighters.
I Completely Agree With Your Statement But It Was The Gaming Commision That Had Diaz Suspended, Dana Even Said, Even If It Is Legal To Do It, The Gaming Commision Says You Can't. I'm Not Arguing Cause I Agree With Your Statement. Just Sayin
I think it says a lot: When Brock got his ass whipped by Cain, The Undertaker was in the audience & as Brock walked by Taker asked "you wanna do it?" People thought Taker was talking about a Wrestlemania match between he and Brock. When asked about it Dana said there was no way he'd let Brock do it. Now Dana's open to the idea? What's changed? My guess is that UFC's ratings aren't what they hoped they would be after leaving Spike and going to Fox. Now he's catering to Brock to get him back. Sad.
That's sad that he was cut, Mayhem is a good fighter with a good record, he is a crowd pleaser that always has a good fight. The UFC has made a mistake cutting Miller he gives the crowd what they want.
the so called grease on his chest trick you are calling silva out on has absolutly no effect on the fight because in the first round now he stayed on top even though he couldnt do any damage, chael didnt not land a decent shot through out the fight he got outboxed basically and became really wobbly bad idea to throw spinning back fist and like an idiot and end up on the ground half unconcious only to get finished via GROUND AND POUND.
No matter what anyone says Lesner should go in the HOF he won the tittle after what 3 Mma fights and defend it twice what ever you guys think he should he help the sport alot and everything.
yeah i did watch that and all his fights. i just disagree with you on the finishing of fights, you make good points, i dont get why he does not finish fights though. yes he almost ripped hardys arm off and took it home, and beat the piss out of him. but when gsp goes to a desison with dan hardy??? the shield fight he tore his groin so i can see that. the koscheck fight, he chould have finshed him a few times. and hes not a lay and pray bore, i was refering to jon fitch.
What Dana needs to do is get better coachs and put middleweights in the competition because I don't see many contenders for Anderson Silva. The only weight classes that have competition is Heavyweights and lightweights every other class has one guy on the top beating on everyone.
he plays it safe. i whould not call him boring, hes a champ. he got koed by serra and you cant tell me he fought the same way, the name of the game is to win fights, but gsp is the greatest welterweight ever, but idk what happened. you cant tell me he should not have finished dan hardy, koscheck or shields or that they where great fights dont think so i think people get mad because hes so clearly above everyone in the division but has not finished a fight.
its not how many fights u do, or how many wins/loses u have, its about the way you perform, and overcoming odds. brock overcame illness for ages, and fought while ill - and set an example to people who want to transition from wrestling to MMA or from anything to MMA in general. i think he deserves it... the best fighters are not allways the ones that make it into the half of fame, its the ones that make a big impact - eg brock but u have ur opinion :D thats cool too
In his entrance he came out with a gas mask on and apparently did something post fight backstage as well. plus he has lost his last 2 fights and did not look in shape at all.
In a lot of Mayhem's fights i think his opponents made him look better than he is. Bisping is good, even though mayhem lost if he had put in a good performance he would have been praised. He should have won CB. Still like the guy though, One of the legends in the sport.
Thats news to me about the current TUF seasons ratings. I thought it was a good season. Dom and Uriah were funny to watch and there was some good fights. Literally has to be because its on friday
Whether he is doing medical testosterone or not he is still on steroids my friend, Testosterone IS steroids. The only difference is that the commission puts you on a legal limit to how much steroids you can do, if you go over that limit and try to fight you wont get your license and you will have to pay a fine and get suspended. SECONDLY, this is synthetic testorone he is doing, its much stronger then what our body produces.
Did you even watch the Hardy fight? he nearly ripped off his arm like 3 times, give credit to Hardy for not tapping. The Shields and Kos fights were good fights that proved that GSP isn't just a wrestler, he can strike as well. Also, GSP doesn't "lay and pray", he's probably the most active wrestler in the division, he's constantly transitioning, landing punches and looking for submissions. Name ONE fight where he "laid and prayed"
I see both points, Mayhem did very well against Shields and I think he could be much better, I agree that Bellator would be a great place for him to face tough competition and get better in order to do that. I must agree though, he hasn't beaten anyone in the top tier really, he's gotten fights on the strength of his personality. Shame, I feel bad for him but since he's been in the UFC he's sharply declined. Anderson Silva he certainly isn't but he was pretty good before, now he's terrible..
You do realise that chael said he would do the same thing if he was in anderson's position right? But how can his wrestling be too much for him if he defended against the takedown multiple times in the second round... Anderson had him everywhere and he would of finished the fight right there if chael didn't throw the spinning backfist. Just would of hurt chael even more and provided more entertainment for his fans.
I'm not denying the UFC's popularity but that's what it goes for when looking for talent. CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, and Conor McGregor were all recruited for their popularity and nothing else. Cm Punk was the obvious one so I won't even explain him. Lesnar only had 1 MMA fight with Min So Kim (3-7) before he got signed then he lost a fight then won a fight to the same guy then got a title shot. What? How the fuck does a guy whose 2-1 get a title shot in an organization that claims its the best? Now for Conor he is very good but that wasn't why he was signed, Dana signed him after one dinner with him and even said, "If he can fight as good as he talks, he'll be a star." He signed him purely for his trash talk. Jake Shields is an example of the opposite, he was good but his fighting style was as boring as his personality so the UFC dropped him. If your good why would they drop you when your winning? These are just a few examples showing that the UFC focuses on showmanship not bringing you the best fights.
If it wasn't for Dana White and the Fertitta's, UFC would have went under back in 2000. And anybody who knows anything about MMA back then, knows this as a fact. They saved that company. And possibly MMA in the USA.
he saw mayhem wearing a mask backstage, since he didn't really like mayhem in the first place some little thing like wearing a gas mask backstage pushed him over the line and decided to cutt him from the ufc.
Ha, ha. I knew I'd hear about the beginning. Here's what happens... Dana starts a media scrum almost immediately after the press conference ends. I have to jump off the camera platform, push through a mob of writers and try to begin filming Dana before he starts talking about something good. Last night I wasn't able to set-up my monopod right away and I was also jockeying for position. I figured hearing Dana was better than nothing...
He's not saying the rape joke was okay. If you were drunk enough to smash your $300,000 dollar car then you were putting a lot of people in physical danger. Rape jokes may hurt someones feelings, but not kill someone. Of course someone like Torres wasn't making zuffa millions of dollars like jones.
dana is right about the ref rosenthal. cain velasquez litterally made it look like a homicide with all that blood it was a vicious punishment , and rosenthal should had stopped it earlier and really is a shame nobody really talked about it at the post fight presser. joe was right it was a statemen A MEAN STATEMENT
its how much he did in the UFC in the short amount of time and he brought a lot of viewers and made the UFC a lot of money also he won the heavyweight championship his 3rd fight in the UFC
When Brock lost the belt to Cain - BEFORE he resigned w/ WWE - Brock crossed paths with Undertaker as he was leaving the cage. Undertaker asked "You wanna do it?" waaaaaaaa the filming up and down is making me sick
I appreciate that the cameraman had some issues getting settled down, thanks for bringing this to us!
Thanks for posting this interview w/ Dana...
Who seriously complains about slightly shaky video? The camera is good, the audio is good, they're synched up correctly and jostling for position is part of the press job description.
are we here to get the latest ufc info or critic filming skills ?
Sorry but look at who he beat, the only stand out name is Couture who was really a l'heavy + was old as hell, a muscle bound Carwin + Min Soo Kin (who), Heath Herring (who), etc It was a great piece of matchmaking that Bob Arum would have been proud off. Of course props still for getting in the cage tho, but he's not top level.
i m sure dana white is 100% behind arianny
Thanks Karyn!
"Do you guys know how much shit goes on that you guys don't know about?"
Smooth Dana...
Will also reduce depression, energize you, increase focus and creativity.
i like these interviews, it's like a get together.
whatever happened with mayhem backstage?
oh man that really sucks..
but thank you very much for explaining! good guy
the stress is really catching with dana, you can compare to the older interviews
I respect Dana White quite a bit because he always comes across as honest. He's not trying to spin things to make himself seem awesome or anything like that. He tells it like he sees it and even if you don't agree with the things he says, you can at the very least appreciate his honesty.

You know, the more I think about it the better the fight I think it will be. Thanks
i can't believe i sat here for 30 minutes and watched this while the rob & big marathon was on
He was an NCAA World Champion, he beat Frank Mir who just recently was a number 1 contender, he retired Heath Herring, won the world title regardless of who against in his 4th MMA fight, was to first man to beat Shane Carwin who had knocked out all of his opponents in the first round and came back from a life-threatening condition (Diverticulitis). i believe it's the nevada state of athletic commission that gave diaz the punishment, not zuffa. i totally agree with your point about jones though.
Why am I reading that on a UFC video?
Then why are you watching this video?
wht did mayhem do to get cut???
for UFC News right here
what happened with arianny??
He should be in the HoF for what he did for the UFC. He drew millions of eye balls to the UFC and made everyone in the UFC more money, including all the other fighters.
Why was arianny arrested??
I could listen to Dana all day
Pretty awesome that they've drifted towards giving out all this cool info on youtube,
DOES ANYONE KNOW WAT MAYHEM DID BACKSTAGE?
She was in a limo with her BF, she got pissed about a text message, she ended up kicking her BF in the face. They both were arrested and released.
I Completely Agree With Your Statement But It Was The Gaming Commision That Had Diaz Suspended, Dana Even Said, Even If It Is Legal To Do It, The Gaming Commision Says You Can't. I'm Not Arguing Cause I Agree With Your Statement. Just Sayin
Why did they cut mayhem ??

While I agree about the whole Jon Jones thing, but what you have to realize is that Diaz was reprimanded by the Athletic commission not the UFC.
That's sad that he was cut, Mayhem is a good fighter with a good record, he is a crowd pleaser that always has a good fight. The UFC has made a mistake cutting Miller he gives the crowd what they want.
y was arianny arrested ??

why would you say something like that?
30:15 I thought the stoppage was fine... He was still alive and squirming. Good stoppage in my opinion.
What Dana needs to do is get better coachs and put middleweights in the competition because I don't see many contenders for Anderson Silva. The only weight classes that have competition is Heavyweights and lightweights every other class has one guy on the top beating on everyone.
what did arianny do?
Mis-read. I agree. Thought you said light-heavyweight
"I don't know yet, we'll see"
at 19:55 what does that lady say please tell me
UFC better start showing more free fights
he plays it safe. i whould not call him boring, hes a champ. he got koed by serra and you cant tell me he fought the same way, the name of the game is to win fights, but gsp is the greatest welterweight ever, but idk what happened. you cant tell me he should not have finished dan hardy, koscheck or shields or that they where great fights dont think so i think people get mad because hes so clearly above everyone in the division but has not finished a fight.

No,Travis browne does not have a massive ko power...
Did you even watch the Hardy fight? he nearly ripped off his arm like 3 times, give credit to Hardy for not tapping. The Shields and Kos fights were good fights that proved that GSP isn't just a wrestler, he can strike as well.

man i love mayhem but he two last fight in the UFC had me really upset but i dont want him to get cut from the ufc
Dude where you there?Any witness?
I see both points, Mayhem did very well against Shields and I think he could be much better, I agree that Bellator would be a great place for him to face tough competition and get better in order to do that. the ufc does not exclusively house the best fighters in the world Dana White. i know u think that but ur wrong.
+Patrick Quinn lol good one
Patrick Quinn I consider my self a mixed martial arts fan and I watch every ufc
I've seen maybe 3 Bellator cards
ufc is clearly leading the pack
I'm not denying the UFC's popularity but that's what it goes for when looking for talent. CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, and Conor McGregor were all recruited for their popularity and nothing else. "He's Boring... he's like a Fitch type guy" lol
Thats why I would love to see him atleast fight in Bellator or STRIKEFORCE.
what did happen?
I'm so hoping that UFC cuts Dana white.
If it wasn't for Dana White and the Fertitta's, UFC would have went under back in 2000. And anybody who knows anything about MMA back then, knows this as a fact. They saved that company. And possibly MMA in the USA.
I can understand Dana, he wants the weigh ins to help sell the fights which playing around doesnt do
he saw mayhem wearing a mask backstage, since he didn't really like mayhem in the first place some little thing like wearing a gas mask backstage pushed him over the line and decided to cutt him from the ufc.
good point.
"It wasn't one of those heavy-weight fights with guys laying around" Funny stuff
Ha, ha. I knew I'd hear about the beginning. Here's what happens... Dana starts a media scrum almost immediately after the press conference ends. i agree with dana about volkman i think if he went to another organisation he would be a top 2 or 3 155er
his knee gave out~he was tryin....it was out of his control whn ur knee just gives up on u theres nothing u can do rly....
Roy Nelson vs Ben Rothwell rematch. make it happen Joe and Dana
Its funny that the title says "cutting mayhem" and the thumbnail is Dana with a huge smile!! trolololol!!!!
Haha i read over that conversation and was about to ask him that to you were talking about Mayhem and he went on about Dana
Brock vs Roy Nelson would be good for him to come back.
basically he rocked cb then his knee gave out and was dominated from then on. well cept for rocking cb again in the 2nd round.
forgive me if i sound dumb but how the hell can something that increases paranoia help with anxiety?
dana is right about the ref rosenthal. cain velasquez litterally made it look like a homicide with all that blood it was a vicious punishment , and rosenthal should had stopped it earlier
and really is a shame nobody really talked about it at the post fight presser. joe was right it was a statemen A MEAN STATEMENT
its how much he did in the UFC in the short amount of time and he brought a lot of viewers and made the UFC a lot of money also he won the heavyweight championship his 3rd fight in the UFC
Who the hell has Miller fought? His most notable fights were against Shields and Sakuraba.
they kicked mayham out? ...why?!
