For off the beaten path when in Chattanooga make sure to visit North Chickamauga Gorge for hiking, climbing and class 3/4 whitewater about 15 minutes north of the city. The world renowned Tennessee Wall for traditional rock climbing in only 15 minutes west on the TN river. Raccoon Mountain also west of the city provides great overlooks, hiking and world class mountain biking. Cheers to adventure!

Great video Alice. I love how you highlight places outside of Chattanooga too, like Fall Creek Falls State Park. I have a history with the state parks of TN. My grandfather (my mothers father) was the Superintendent in Charge of Fall Creek Falls from 1941-1952, and the resident superintendent of Cumberland Mountain State Park in Crossville, TN from 1940-1954. He was named superintendent of TN State Parks from 1943-1954. I believe my love for the outdoors comes from him.
Wow! That is some really cool family history. I love genealogy and am always looking for interesting histories. I wonder how different it looked back then. :)
The CCC built a lot of parks in the 1930’s and 40’s, Homestead Park in Crossville, TN was built in the late 1930’s for the Homesteaders. On July 18th, 1940 my grandfather took over the park from Sgt. Alvin C. York for the state of Tennessee, and it was as renamed Cumberland Mountain State Park:
ooooooh, so pretty!!! Didn't know that it was voted the vest adventure town. OKAY the fairyland caverns are right up my alley! I love caves, they are so fun and interesting!
We absolutely love visiting Chattanooga but haven’t been in a while. So many things to do. We will definitely have to check out Fall Creek Falls. I remember visiting the Lost Sea when I was a child with my parents and riding in the glass bottom boats. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures. Great video!!

Very nice! Can’t go wrong with a visit to Cheaha State Park. It is the highest point in Alabama and the hospitality of the locals is second to none.
I love visiting Chattanooga and you covered all the places that I have been to beautifully. The only one I I haven't been to in the video is Lost Sea.
Lived in this area my entire life. Chattanooga is like part of my home. Been to Lost Sea as a kid and loved it so much. Made a memory for me. But Im not sure on introducing fish to it as an adult.

Thank you so much for this beautiful video! I grew up about 30 minutes NE of Chattanooga, but live in a different part of the country now. I'm planning a move back home in a few months, and videos like this one definitely make me feel homesick, but also excited to get back!
Update: I'm going to be moving back to the area in about a month! Can't wait to get out and explore my home state again! I'm definitely going to check out Foster Falls, as I've never been.

Such a beautiful place. I was there when I was a kid, I remember Ruby Falls, Lookout Mountain. Have to go back and see all the other sights that I missed. Great video.

It is wall to wall people now. Everyone feels like you. Me too. I traveled east tn extensively in my youth. Nothing but beauty. Now? Super over crowed. Shoulder to shoulder, cheek to jowl. Noise, trash, pollution, tourist hustlers. Sad to see it go this way.

Excellent video! We were there for Ironman Chattanooga, but got some superb climbing in at Lookout Mountain. If you'd rather climb indoors, High Point climbing gym is superb.

What's your favorite type of outdoor adventure?
Being honest, it's the ones you hear about on some random forum thread posted by a local. Anything you can find on a list isn't usually very appealing to me.
Lived there in 2015 back before the population surge. Really cool town just kind of a shame there aren't better employment opportunities.
Seems like a lot of big companies are moving there. So maybe that is changing

The Mammoth Cave system was used to mine saltpeter for the War of 1812.
I’m going to try to get up there soon.
@@AliceFordAdventures if i remember correctly it is kind of pricy for the different cave tours, there is a small river boat ride in the park too, usually at night. W. Virginia has some caves to explore, nothing like Carlsbad Caverns but unique in their own ways, Michigan has several natural and man made cave systems in the U.P. some from copper mining.

Hi Alice, I just discovered your channel and watched your Long's Peak video, and then your "stunts' video. After checking your videos page I noticed you've never got into motorcycles, with such a wide range of specialized machines available I can't help think that the right bike would really broaden your adventures. You're really "fit" and matching you with the RIGHT machine would turn you into a "Supergirl", if you don't mind me saying so. A couple channels I really like are "Itchy Boots" and "On Her Bike", there are many others but these two gals are kinda "top of their class". Cheers, just wondering...
Thanks Mark, I'm so glad you found my channel. I know how to ride but its not the easiest vehicle to shoot and carry gear on. I have one video from a dirt biking and rappelling trip that I will have to add back onto my channel.
