Thank you for this video. I just bought this model a few days ago and I've never owned a riding mower before. Sitting there trying to get through a manual or guide is difficult. Seeing how it's done is far better.
Thank you. I haven't rode a mower in years until my husband passed. I don't remember them being this complicated. I would've never figured out how to get the parking brake off on my own. The manual disappeared long ago. Appreciate the video, well done.

Thank you, finally someone who gave a thorough video of how this tractor works. Lots of tutorialson you tube aren't that great. And thank you for showing the part with the rod in the back, I've been moving it with the rod in the whole time, as I didn't know
Thank you for watching and the very kind comment! I'm glad you came across this and your transmission will also be glad. It should also be very easy to push for you now knowing about that rod. Please give this video a like and share my channel to help it grow. It would be greatly appreciated!
Hey, thanks for the wonderful video. I am 'mowed' (impressed) by it. I got this model delivered to my home today and, after poring over the operator and reference manuals for 30 minutes, drove it nervously. Kept the deck height at level 6 to start with. Wasn't sure of the reverse controls. I did reverse/back up a couple times but not without fumbling. Your explanation on reverse movement and leaving the key in the Reserve switch-mode to move seamlessly back and forth was a revelation to me. I thought I had to switch between Reverse Mode and then press the Reverse pedal to move it back and then switch to the Engine-On Mode to move forward. Also, the Transmission Engage Rod at the back was a useful tip. Overall, a wonderful presentation. Thank you.
Searched our mower to find a how to video on how to use it to surprise the husband and get the yard mowed. First few seconds I noticed your hand! My daughter was also born with a limb difference and we both were so excited to see you! Thank you so much she is 4, so now is that critical time that she is taking notice in her limb difference, your hand made her so happy, we picked your video by coincidence, amazing thank you❤
Glad I was able to help in a few ways! If you have any questions in the future. Reach out to my website and leave your contact info on my contact page and I can call you!
I just bought one of these yesterday and it's going to be delivered today. If this mower is as reliable and tough as my Husqvarna string trimmer, then it should last me a lifetime

Got a new USED one of these today and got halfway through the yard when a sudden rainstorm hit. I've operated, owned, or worked on all sorts of special purpose equipment from Air Force fire trucks, refueling trucks, towing tractors, even full size road graders. But the levers on this tractor tend to be a bit confusing. I'm REALLY thankful for this video! Thank you so much!

Thanks for your video. Believe it or not I didn't know how to properly engage the blade deck on my brand new mower. Watching you do it cleared it all up.
I’m glad this video was helpful. I hope you like your new machine! Please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe and tell your friends to help my channel grow. It would be greatly appreciated.
My first two seasons were great with this tractor. For some reason this year I'm scalping my yard. Have tried all scripted fixes. Tire pressure, deck adjustments, scalping wheels etc; . Better cuts yet still some scalping to a lesser degree. I have watched so many videos, my next step is checking the mandrel. I have sharpened blades and replaced them as well. " Stumped"!
You need to check where your blades come by each other to make sure all four sides come across even. You most likely have bent blades or a bent deck or mandrel shaft.
@@JohnsonsSmallEngines thanks for the quick response. Mandrels were my next check. Then actually checking the deck not just my blade levels. Appreciate you confirming my suspicions. Bent deck was not considered. Hoping for the best there...lol!

I’m glad it was helpful. I suggest just start in a higher position and then start cutting. Lower the deck one notch at a time until you like the height of the cut. Please give this video a thumbs to help my channel. It would be greatly appreciated.
Just bought one from lowes a 2022 model. Mine like yours has the steering wheel off centered to the right. What is it with the Husky plant on final QA they can’t center the damn steering wheel. 🤷♂️
Why is it when I go to engage the PTO/blade that my machine shuts off? I have the key turned back to the safety position. If I do a forward motion and then engage the blade it seems to work ok. This is my first husqvarna. I used to have a John Deere and I did not experience any problems like this
Thanks TJ. I’m glad it was helpful and thank you for the kind comment. Please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe and tell your friends to help my channel grow. It would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, and thanks for the very informative video. I just bought one of these last week new and have a question about the deck. granted, my yard is not very smooth, but the deck seems to float noisily, like a lot of bumping around. Is that normal for this tractor? I’ve looked underneath and everything looks like it’s hooked up the way it’s supposed to be and I don’t see anything bent. One reason I’m concerned is that when Lowes unloaded it the fellow did it by sliding forks on his forklift from the back of the mower under the deck and picking it up that way which he said doesn’t hurt it however, it doesn’t look like the best way to do it as far as I’m concerned. Just wondering if you felt there could be any hidden damage .
Can’t say either way without seeing it up close. If everything looks as it should o will assume it is. You are correct about the unloading process. I would never want to pick up a mower from under the mower deck with metal forks.
Hi David, I’m glad this was helpful and thank you for the kind comment. Have fun with the new machine! Please give this video a like, subscribe and tell your friends about the channel to help it grow. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for watching:)
I just bought this tractor today, used with 95 hours on it. I finally toasted my Husquvana YTH 150 that I had for 21 years. It was a great tractor, too. But, I beat the snot out of it. I'm looking forward to using this one now. I'll try to take better care of it, as it will be my last one I'll need, since I'm 70. Thanks for the info on how to run it. I wasn't sure about the cruise control or how to run it in reverse or use the emergency brake. What grass height do you recommend using? Also, I'm thinking of buying the snow blade. Do you know anything about it? I live in the Minneapolis area. Thanks again!
Good luck with the new machine and you will definitely need to be a little less hard on the newer machines because as we all know “ there not built like they used to be”. I do not recommend putting a blade on the front. The machines are not built as tough as they were.
Just got mine , manual looked like it got run over during delivery, was not walked through the operations of mower this helped a lot. It there a spot for a trailer hitch on three things? It is a tractor right?
There should be a hole in rear near the hydro release and that is meant to pull a cart. I do not suggest putting anything larger in the rear for towing. The hydro transmissions are not built as well as they were back in the day. What do you want tow?
I bought this tractor in April. I need to plow snow with it and can't find a way to add the weight to it without taking off the back wheels. The holes don't seem to line up. Wondering how difficult it will be to add a snow plow. The model is the same that I bought. Any help would be appreciated.
My opinion, This model tractor is not built tough enough to withstand the weights and plow. I do not install plows or recommend it. Take the money you will spend purchasing all the equipment for the tractor and purchase the largest self propelled snow thrower for the money. Again, this is just my opinion working on lawn tractors for over thirty years.
You may be talking about the washout port that is on the mower deck. If you bought the machine new you may have the part that goes to your garden hose somewhere most likely with the owners manual bag. I would suggest not using it because water and these machines don’t mix. Meaning you will ruin mower deck bearings transmission bearings either bearings all the above when you spray the machine down with water. Check your manual to see if it shows you how to use the washout port. I will never have a video on it because I do not believe in using those ports as they will ruin your machine. Just my opinion. You can also take a picture of it and send it to me through my email.
There about the same in quality but I prefer John Deere. My opinion but both are lower end built machines recommended for flat yards under 2 acres. If you have a lot of work for the machines to do? I would spend a little more and go with a John Deere X300 series.
Hello, and thanks for the video. My friend just gave me his old Husqvarna yth26v54 2012 for free. I think its been used for about 600 hours. He is not the best when it comes to maintenance. It seems to work fine but I want to take it in to get serviced before I start using it. Whats is the lifespan of these tractors? Thanks, any info appreciated.
When I start mine and take it off the brake it starts to make whining noise, why is that? Lawnmower is brand new, I started it for the first time in the garage today.
how do you change the speed! I had it serviced and they put it in high gear/speed and I am having trouble controlling the mower. I mash the pedal to go foward and it moves so fast that it nearly throws me off the mower. i just bought the mower and that is the only problem that I have with it!
My tractor is a Husqvarna as well but it will only allow me to engage the blade in “Reverse-Mow” mode, if I attempt to engage the blade in anything else it will stall everytime. Any idea why this is?
Have yet to come across that one. Sounds like safety switch out of position for or bad ignition switch but that is guessing. Impossible for me to diagnose without seeing the machine.
Your very welcome! I’m glad it was helpful. Please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe and tell your friends to help my channel grow. It would be greatly appreciated.
My YTH24v54 makes a high pitched beeping noise when the break is disengaged. Can anyone tell me if this is a safety feature or if something is wrong? His model didn't emit the same noise and my rider is 6 days old.
Is the machine new to you? Check to make sure the rod in the back is all the way pushed in? Check to make sure your transmission belt is running around all pulleys? Have you removed a rear tire lately and re-installed it? sometimes the square key falls out in between the rim and axle shaft.
Yes, it can be the battery, especially if the machine has been sitting for a while. Remember, acid filled batteries will discharge as they sit, when not in use, First check your oil level to make sure it isn't over filled. If it is over filled by a lot, then smell the oil and if it smells like fuel and it is way over filled, you have a carburetor issue and I would not run the machine. (take it to someone that can repair it) If the oil level is good and If you have a battery charger? charge the battery. If you do not then I would suggest to purchase one. It it always a good Idea to try and charge the battery before replacing it. Most of the time when a battery sits for a long time it just needs to be charged.
Here are a few basic checks. Check to make sure you did not run out of fuel. Check your oil to make sure the engine did not seize. Turn engine by hand to make sure it still turns. Check to make sure your power takeoff lever or switch in the off position. Check to make sure the one fuse that is on that machine is not blown. Make sure the brake is in the down position when you crank the engine.
It sounds like your choke either isn’t working?, Please not properly adjusted? or your not putting it on when starting the machine? If it is a new machine?? You should have a warranty?
@jonathanlyles7480 I'm having the exact same issue I bought a used one with 46 hours, runs like gangbusters but it will not start without starter fluid. I'm thinking it is something about adjusting to choke.
Many things can make a battery die. The age of the battery? The older battery the less chance it has to stay good unless it’s being used. How long has the battery been sitting without use? Batteries will slowly discharged as they sit. I recommend slow charging the battery once a month in a winter time when not use and with long-term storage always charge your battery once every couple months to keep the battery from dying. You also may have a problem with the charging system on your machine. That would need a volt meter to check the charging system. A battery will die sooner than not. A low cold cranking battery such as 230 or less in my opinion is not a very good battery. I always suggest purchasing a 300 cold cranking amp battery or higher when purchasing a battery. You get what you pay for buying a battery. Leaving the ignition key on with many machines. You now have an electronic fuel shut off solenoid that is activated when the key is in the on position. Your battery will very quickly die. Also, you cannot keep charging batteries over and over as they will not come back after a few charges. So if you’re running with a week or an old battery, you may have more issues than not.
I came here for help cause the damn mower wasn't starting, and then you said to open the hood, THERE WAS A RAT OR BIRD NEST ON TOP OF THE DAMN BATTERY. Yeah

Can’t say either way without seeing it up close. If everything looks as it should o will assume it is. You are correct about the unloading process. I would never want to pick up a mower from under the mower deck with metal forks.
Thanks for the tutorial!

Thanks much! Excellent tutorial, just purchased one from Fleet Farm and they gave no instruction s!

Hey my husqvarna lights won’t connect any help?
it shows between the foot rests it shows a way to change the speed but I don't know enough about the mower to change it
Good job. I just got one and I'm wondering what the strange cap on the top of the deck is for? Any ideas. Can't find it in the manual
Makes perfect sense. Thank you
I jist bought a used one and the key won't cone out. Is there a secret or trick? The video was spot on!
No trick but someone may have put the incorrect key in it and now it’s stuck. Turn it all the way to the left and it should come out.
My sil used same model on a steep hill and now going very slow uphill . Has he damaged it?
As I said on your last comment. Impossible to diagnose with seeing the machine.
I’ve been debating one of these, a deere s130 or the cub cadet xt1. Any recommendations?
There about the same in quality but I prefer John Deere. My opinion but both are lower end built machines recommended for flat yards under 2 acres. If you have a lot of work for the machines to do? I would spend a little more and go with a John Deere X300 series.
Excellent video

my mower has a lot of missing features

Hello, and thanks for the video. My friend just gave me his old Husqvarna yth26v54 2012 for free. I think its been used for about 600 hours. He is not the best when it comes to maintenance. It seems to work fine but I want to take it in to get serviced before I start using it. Whats is the lifespan of these tractors? Thanks, any info appreciated.
The life of the tractor depends on the owner and how well he takes care of it. 600 hrs is a lot for that tractor.
Its just like your gas pedal in a car. You regulate the speed with your foot.
Thanks a lot.
I have a YTH20k46 I got used. I was wondering, why does it have an electric pto switch AND a cable? To engage the blades?
They do not have both. It’s either electric PTO OR manual.
@@JohnsonsSmallEngines that's what I was thinking. I reckon someone put a switch on here not knowing what they were doing.
@@JohnsonsSmallEngines now I just need to find a few parts, and I will be on business
I agree.
@Johnson's Small Engines need an idler pully, bolt and washer for thr idler pully. Any recommendations for locating them? I have a Kohler Couger
Thank you.

My mower want go forward or backwards am I doing anything wrong
Is the machine new to you? Check to make sure the rod in the back is all the way pushed in? Check to make sure your transmission belt is running around all pulleys? Have you removed a rear tire lately and re-installed it? sometimes the square key falls out in between the rim and axle shaft.
So my Husqvarna turns over but won't start. Can you help?
Go to my website and go to the contact page. Send your contact info and when I can, I’ll call you. To many questions I need to ask you.
My husqvarna acts like it wants to turn in then after a few times trying the motor won’t even turn. Could that be my battery?
Can you help me with mine
It just died while cutting and I have no electric power brought a new battery still no electric
Just got mine and I cannot get it to turn over. I don’t want to flood it. Do you known what I could be doing wrong?
If it is new? Did it run off of the trailer when delivered?
I’m having the same issue but mine will start if I use starter fluid. It started fine the first ten or so mows
Yeah do I have to use e85 or can I use 87 if wanted ?
87 is fine!
@Johnson's Small Engines what about the oil no where in the manual dies it say what kind I just baught it last night
@@Captaintripps1 Look up engine manual online to find out correct engine oil.

What causes battery to die
