    so happy y’all are checking out yebba! If you’re planning on doing another song by her, I highly recommend her song evergreen, it’s a tribute to her mother after she had passed. She’s such an incredible artist, with her ability to so fluently and openly express her feelings through music.

    I’ve been watching this performance repeatedly for 3+ years and it still brings me to tears. Evergreen and October Sky , How Many Years are about her mother and her album Dawn is titled after her mother.

  • @KVNxx
    @KVNxx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    From my understanding the song has no direct correlation to her mom, but because that performance was so close to her mom's passing in regards to time, it made that connection. If i remember correctly she never or rarely performed this song after this performance. She ended up making this audio available few years later.

    After watching this 4 times in a row, the air is still sucked out of the room. Her haunting voice and that melodic guitar took me back to place years ago that still has me crushed, broken and brought to my knees. Oh the power of music….

    First of all, all three of you are gorgeous. Stunningly beautiful people. Second, this song makes me wanna throw stuff. And every time I listen to it, I feel conflicted. I don't know if I wanna run up on dude or thank him for inspiring such a masterpiece of a song. Definitely do her Tiny Desk and her song "Evergreen", as others have mentioned. Also: the line "I sure won't stay, but I'll be damned if I ever leave": I took that to mean she won't stay in the relationship physically, but he'll always be reminded of her and he'll look for her in the next woman because of how good of a woman she tried to be to him.

    Loved, love, loved the three of you listening together and sharing this experience and your thoughts with each other, and hey, with all of us!
    This Yebba song gives me goosebumps from the first note to the last…. Singing isn’t even the right word for what she does, it’s sooo much more, I feel; and my god, you can see right down to the bottom of her heart ❤️ She knows grief, having lost her mother in the way she did.
    Thanks so much for that really respectful video-.
    Have you heard of Swedish trio Dirty Loops (vocals/keys, bass and drums)?

Lots of people mention watching Yebba at other performances but I think she’s best in stripped down settings, just her and the guitarist with no distractions. I've seen several posts saying her mom committed suicide about a week BEFORE this was filmed. She pulls her emotions out through her music. If anyone has confirmed this let me know...

    • @edwinjlr1345
      @edwinjlr1345 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it's true. The song takes an entirely different meaning if you see this from the perspective of death taking her mom away, her fighting to not join her, and Yebba not allowing the memory of her mother to be tarnished by the pain, confusion, sorrow, and sadness involved in suicide.
      Heartbreak seems to be the main theme of the song, but you can interpret it as a broken relationship due to infidelity, or losing an entire piece of your soul when your parent passes away, specially in the way she did. Considering how raw, and guttural her performance is, I'm assuming that Yebba certainly went with heartbreak over losing her mother.

    Hi guys, just found your channel, and you guys are pretty darn cool. I watched several of your videos and looked through the ones you've already done and I like the variety of music you've done, including even BTS. But to foray into something that is unique as Pentatonix, I'd like to recommend you foray into some heavy metal. (Disclaimer: I am NOT a heavy metal fan. But Babymetal is my all time favorite group). But it will not be ANY heavy metal you will have ever heard of before.
    The band is called Babymetal. It is a japanese heavy metal group (celebrating their 10th anniversary last year) that was originally created as an experiment as a subunit of a jpop idol group Sakura Gakuin. The goal was to reinvigorate the heavy metal genre by fusing together jpop and metal. Fronted by three young japanese girls (Lead singer Su-metal was 13, backup singers and dancers Yuimetal and Moametal were both 11 at the time, and Moa just turned 23 on July 4th, and Yui's birthday was 2 weeks ago), they are backed by the Kami Band, whom are among the best session musicians in japan. Babymetal does not refer to their age, but to a new genre they created called kawaii-metal (cute metal). They have played venues as large as 55,000 (at the Tokyo Dome in Japan), and every show is always sold out. They have also performed on the Stephen Colbert show. They have done 3 headlining world tours to date. They have toured with Metallica, Korn, Lady Gaga, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many others. Bring Me The Horizon opened for them during their Asian tour. The fans are called The One. And once you become a fan, you've fallen into what the fans call the 'fox hole'. The fox is the symbol of the band/lore. But you don't need to know any of that. Just know that the hand sign they are always holding is the hand gesture for a fox shadow play on a wall.
    The songs I would recommend (since it seems you're coming from the poppy side of music style) is more from their early days, which are a bit more poppy. Gimme Chocolate (currently with 162M views), Headbangeeeer!!! (23M views), Megitsune (79M views), Karate (72M views), and Road of Resistance LIve in Japan (31M views). They have three studio albums out, but they are a live performance band. So if possible, steer towards a live performance instead of their music videos (although they are also very good too). There are many other songs, as every single song is different. So there is something for everyone. There is a song with rap, Pa Pa Ya (with a Thai rapper named F. Hero), and a one that's purely a rap song, BxMxC.
    Warning though, their videos gets highly blocked. Head over to the Babymetal Reactors channel for tips and recommendations on reacting to Babymetal videos.
    Why do I like them? Their fusion style of music intrigued me. They are different (kawaii metal never existed before them). The girls are adorable. The musicians are excellent. The songs are happy and always bring a smile to my face. The songs are GOOD. Every song is different. You don't have to understand the lyrics to feel the song. The lead singer is excellent (she has been singing since she was 7). The choreo (which is entirely unheard of in the Heavy Metal genre) is really fun to watch. Their performances are full of energy. They have excellent crowd control, which they encourage crowd participation (which is VERY different considering japanese culture refrains from doing that, they consider it rude to yell and scream while the performer is performing). They LOVE performing. You can see how much fun they are having while performing, and that feeling is very infectious to the crowd. When the song ends, it makes you feel good. Now, that's just from watching them as Babymetal. When I delved into their past in Sakura Gakuin to discover that the girls are super humble, sweet, and have a sisterly bond together that's really cute when they're together. That was one of the purposes of Sakura Gakuin, to create sisterly bonds to last their lifetimes (and also teach them all the aspects of the entertainment industry). Sakura Gakuin is a whole different story in itself.
    I hope you give them a chance. I would really like to hear your take on it, and it would be really interesting to watch your reactions.

    you should try to react to Daneliya Tuleshova a 15 year old vocal wonder, she is friends with Dimash, and her and Angelina Jordan are the future(Different Genres even ough both can sing nearly every genre) I would recommend her recent cover/mashup Skyfall+Toxic
    She is also a The Voice Kids Ukraine winner in 2017, The Worlds Best Semi Finalist and Dimash gave his spot up for her kinda, AGT S15 Finalist((top 6)(Voted Fan Favorit by many)

    I’m sorry, I swear I’m not judging y’all but how are you listening to those lyrics and not understanding she’s talking about a guy for as long as y’all did 😂 “ I heard you come in at a quarter to three, you closed the door and laid down next to me, then I heard you say HER NAME IN YOUR SLEEP, your dirty secrets too far gone to keep” hahahaha
    You’d love her tiny desk performance she does four songs and it’s just pure perfection
