    Bought the 4080S MSI Slim Gaming X for £1049 which in UK is considered a bargain ;)
    I tried just lightly OC it (+240 core, +200 memory and +5% Power no undervolting) and I get nice and stable 2890 MHz with temps at lower 70s and almost no noise.
    Will try your settings and see if I could get that 2950 MHz and how it improves the fps and if it's worth it.
    Anyway nice video, man. Thanks for your work!

      Every 75 clock points (MHZ). You earn 1.2 ~ 1.4%. I don't think it's worth it. Even using overclocking the gain is very low. In my opinion, overclocking the entire system (CPU, GPU, etc.), there is a real gain of 10 ~ 13%. Still, I don't trust overclocks.

    I got the ROG Strix version and to maintain stability with high core and memory speeds. Asus allows the power limit to be increased by 31% and I had to put the voltage slider all the way to +100 (in MSI Afterburner). During gameplay this would give me a core clock speed from 2955 to 3030Mhz depending on temperature and a memory speed of 26Gbps. The voltage would fluctuate between 1.085 and 1.100 and if I tried to lower the voltage I ran into instability. At those speeds the gains were also marginally better which I was honestly hoping the 4080 super would have been a slightly slower ADA-104 die so, like a cut-down 4090 that was maybe only 10% slower.

    • @casuallygamin9
      @casuallygamin9  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This one can't go lower then 1.075 for 2955. I actually gave up in trying to undervolt to get lower power usage for the same clock speed.

    I got a really good undervolt on a ASUS ProArt 4080S. Increased the voltage curve to 2564, dropped 900 all the way down. 110% PW Limit and memory +1250, I'm getting a good stable fps with less 1% fps drops. I have noticed that overclocking these supers we get a lot of fps drops 1% lows.

    Been debating on the 4080 super or 7900xtx, both are the same price but honestly is it worth the fps trade off for dlss and rtx? I mainly play competitive fps but I do enjoy single player games, im really looking for a card to run for the next 4+ years. Im still rocking a 1080ti at 1440p :p

      If you are set on 1440p, and you enjoy single player games with graphics to yhe max, I think that the 4080 Super is a bit better due to the superior RT performance. Native is still better then DLSS

    Did I hear correctly? 08:17 you say Gigabyte Windforce has better fans? So Gigabyte at ~2000 RPM is quieter than MSI at ~1800?

    • @casuallygamin9
      @casuallygamin9  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      So,the MSI fans have a high pitch sound while the Gigabyte has a low pitch. The cooler is better for the MSI, but the fans are a bit better, sound wise, for the Gigabyte even though these spin faster.

    @pilkjaer 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Thank you for the review! It's still a problem to find a 4080 Super card and with this card coming in stock soon it would be good alternative. I also appreciate toned down look. It will live in a box and no one will even see it so looks is the least thing I care about in this case.
    I'm not particular sure why you want to buy such an advanced performance graphics card and then try to undervolt it? If you want less performance, heat, energy consumption and noise - why not just go with lower tire card?

    • @casuallygamin9
      @casuallygamin9  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Well undervolting is not to loose performance, is to keep the same performance at a lower power.

    • @casuallygamin9
      @casuallygamin9  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Usually people try to undervolt to reduce power draw and heat output at no performance loss. Underclocking will make you lose performance.

    I've just bought this card and, like the Zotac 4080s I had to send back previously, it lags and stutters across all features of windows. Games are unplayable. I've reinstalled the gfx drivers, updated the bios and updated windows itself and still have the same lag, poor performance issue. I have a EVGA 750w GC psu and think it might not be providing enough power so I've ordered a Phanteks 1000w psu. Thoughts/opinions appreciated. Anyone have the same issue? Any other remedies?

      I would advise to reinstall windows. After, make sure install the drivers. Did you install it in the top PCIE slot, make sure to use separate cables to supply power. Make sure to plug in yhe cables to the discrete GPU, not the ones on the motherboard board. You could check my latest video, and use the tools that I mentioned for troubleshooting. Also, provide more details about your configuration.
