    CORRECTION.
The Ateliers Phileas Hobonichi Weeks cover is about double the price. Not about 30% more but about 50% more.
    My review stands.
It is better value for money to order from Ateliers Phileas or The Superior Labor. For more comparable price points, you are better off with Galen LEather. They are not as flashy. But neither is Sojourner. For around about similar prices you are getting a better variety, better customer service, better and consistent leather quality, and better international shipping.
I am not affiliated with any of the brands I mentioned here and in this video, in any way.

The fuzzy side, it is unfinished. The one you like more, it has been finished and burnished. You can take tokonole and a glass burnisher and finish it yourself

@@MM-pj4bl I paid several hundred dollars not to have to do anything myself 😂 Thus, my original conclusion: UNLESS YOU ARE IN THE US, this isn’t worth the costs (after shipping and currency conversion).

My love of handbags has definitely devolved into a love of leathers. To avoid adding yet another bag to my collection, these leather goods would be a way to satisfy my curiosity. But they need to be functional in my life. No more shelf candy for me. I think I will not buy another ‘designer’ piece. I’ve learned this much in the last couple of years- that the better feeling leathers usually come from the small specialty (cheaper) stores. But then again everything is cheaper when compared to designer prices. At this point, do I even need to say that anymore? It;s a given.

@@kellylyons7611 I was going to share my love for The Superior Labour and Ateliers Phileas on the other side but I thought they have ruled Hermes and barenia for me why let them ruin these too? 😂 Yes. Start with those two. TSL has two distributors. One in Belgium and another in the US. They each often have collaborations with prices only available from them. There is another stationery shop in Canada who collaborated with TSL but I can’t remember is they also sell the other TSL range.

@@TwoMiceOnMyBookshelf I don’t know, Barenia is still pretty special. But as you pointed out in a recent interchange, the ‘love’ of Barenia now by the…let me be nice…sheep ( couldn’t find the nice button I guess) has blown up the prices way too high. I’ll wait 5 years and hope the hoopla and prices die down. Oh that really wasn’t nice. I should amend but I won’t. It can be an indictment of myself-I can baaaa with the best of ‘em.

@@kellylyons7611Yes Barenia is still special! But it is just not fun anymore with the people geeking over them gone and we are left with people competing over them for the status of having that one heritage leather everyone else seems to want even though most of them don’t care for it and only care for it because it is supposed to be hard to get.
      I have a whole rant coming 😂

Also, the “line” on the front of the sojourner is a natural mark from the animals skin. That is not a defect

@@MM-pj4bl I know. Animal skin is an organic product. What I am saying is, higher quality tanneries won’t have that part of the skin for sale. Better quality producers like The Superior Labor and Ateliers Phileas will pay more for skins which will EXCLUDE these parts of the animal. You can get those for 40% more money and my recommendation would be to pay more for those. And not waste your money on this.

@@TwoMiceOnMyBookshelf some makers put those blemishes on their products intentionally. I make leather planners and I love those marks. The look of my covers is very “rustic” “old used saddle” kinda look lol. So, when I shop for hides, I actually seek out those with branding marks, scars, stretch marks etc. I think it’s beautiful. Go figure haha
