Just to clarify: I'm not demanding that remakes need to happen or that we should get them OVER KH4 or new side games. I don't want that! This was just a topic I thought would be interesting to discuss. It was just for fun. I'm also not suggesting drastic remakes or a reboot either. Since the games are getting older, I just thought it was something worth considering.
No, because they’re perfectly fine on their own! In fact, they have aged so well! We don’t need any remakes of past KH games except maybe 358/2 Days and Re: Coded. Besides, I’d rather have a brand new installment like KH4 and Missing-Link.
I definitely agree, and a lot of this ended up being targeted at KH1 anyways lol. But It's still so good, and KH2FM is like still shockingly great. I haven't played it as much, but it undeniably plays better. I would be happy if KH1 was at least reworked to be more like KH2. Days and Recoded absolutely need to be remade, though, hahaha. But any remakes I would only want AFTER ML and KH4, I don't need them right now lol.
@@smugaru The reason I think 358/2 Days and Re: Coded should be remade as playable games is just so that modern audiences can get a chance to play them. That way, they won't need to buy an old Nintendo DS.
@TrevortheTrainFan The stories I feel are less compelling when condensed to just the cutscnes. Recoded really suffered from it. I'd argue it becomes almost skippable with just the cutscenes, while the actual game is a must play lol
They’ve re-packaged, upscaled, and brought the games to so many platforms over the years. And every time they do, they’re saying “This is the definitive way to play the game.” With how long games are taking to develop, I think they’d rather spend their time and resources moving the story forward rather than retracing familiar territory. And even if they did feel like revisiting the past, they should remake 358/2 Days, not KH1 or KH2.
Very fair, and I would agree on that. The remasters have done a lot to make them last, and they're still great to look at and play. Definitely would still like a proper remake for Days and Recoded yeah lol.
Maybe a Remake isn't needed quite yet but a remaster update that removes the fish faces and adds Ven's heart into the Sora's sacrifice scene would be a great.
Fish face Sora I love that! I always called him monkey face Sora lmao 💀💀 If they could improve the graphics so that the whole game was of the level of the pre-rendered, in-engine cutscenes, that would be awesome. The transitions from cutscene to gameplay in KH3 were so good, and I'd love to have that be a part of the OGs. Adding Ven's heart in the sacrifice scene is really interesting! I hadn't even considered that. There are definitely a lot of very subtle details that they could add to help foreshadow events. That would be really cool!
I'd say it needs a quality of life overhaul. I'm not a diehard fan but really like the story and recently played the first 2 and it was mentally exhausting with the lack of basic modern conveniences like a basic functional map or an icon of where to go. I can deal with the graphics but for me personally I think it needs to be a bit more user friendly.
Yeah, like they wouldn't need to be drastic remakes. Ideally just like adding a few modern conveniences like you said; take advantage of current day tech to improve on a few areas. KH 1 & 2 still hold up, but they can be kind of vague and inconvenient at times The remasters have done quite a bit to make these games last as is though.
@daz-4th882 Exactly, that seems like a pretty reasonable thing to want. Like, it seems like an aspect they realized was troublesome in KH1 and figured a solution with each subsequent game 😂
@smugaru it sucks cause I didn't play them back in the day. And now I'm really wanting to get into it but it feels like such a chore to do anything in them. 3 is the only one I feel is playable. Like I said I'm not a hard-core fan by any means I just wanna play a game with a good story
@@airbrushking9813 What else about them is proving frustrating for you? KH1 can definitely be a little slow and vague, especially with navigating or explaining mechanics. I feel like KH2 added a lot more cool combat mechanics that make it really satisfying, but it doesn't intuitively explain or encourage you to take advantage of all of its systems. The vagueness from KH1 is still kind of there lol KH3 is the easiest to just get up and get going, (which is why it's the one I've started the most so far) they mitigated a lot of the early grind. It's a lot more accessible, but doesn't feel as tactful, I guess? It also doesn't encourage or explain how to take advantage of its systems well either 😅😅
Yesss big agree with that. Someone else commented on the Days video with what if Days had gotten a ps2 port, and I'm kind of obsessed with that idea now. It could have literally been the KH2 Sequel we would have always wanted lol.
Don't worry, I wasn't demanding remakes. This was just something I thought would be fun and interesting to talk about, considering the games are getting a little older. The remasters have done a lot to help the games last as they are, and I would agree are still great.
I vote they make the DS games playable on modern hardware instead. Then they will have it where you're able to play the entire series on one console! But I'm actually doing another playthrough of the first game currently and am almost finished with it. I say, the first game could benefit from a remake simply because a remake could possibly allow us to pet the Dalmatians!
Yesss! The DS games should absolutely get remakes, I'm glad we're all on board with that haha. And holy crap I hadn't even considered a remake allowing us to actually pet the dalmatian puppies. That would be so good lol😍 It always bugged me that we had no interaction with them outside of some basic cutscenes😅
@@smugaru exactly! DDD let us pet the dream eaters so I know for a fact that they are capable of giving us the same level of interaction with the puppies!
@@smugaru It would be my favorite addition easily! However, I will say that the platforming is definitely where the original shows its age the most. The jumping is so much smoother in KH 2 and the camera isn't too close. The close camera in the first game is awesome at times but at the same time annoying at others.
I'm shocked at how so many people feel like KH1 and 2 remakes aren't necessary. I mean, they would make my life so much happier. KH 358/2, re:coded and dream drop distance too. Of course, if having these remakes will delay KH4 2+ years, then, no.
Yeah, I wasn't assuming or asking for remakes to take priority over KH4. That should come first! This was just like a theoretical question because the games are getting older now lol. The remasters are still wonderful, still look great, and are fun to play. But there are like, little inconveniences or annoying aspect that could be nice to see worked out with newer tech. I do absolutely want Days and Recoded remakes, though, for sure. Now, a Dream Drop remake would be interesting considering it's relatively newer 🤔
@DymirRobinson Reaction commands would be really cool to see show up in KH1. Bosses have definitely become more of a sticking point to me. Non humanoid/Disney bosses tend to range from annoying to mediocre at best. And, of course, there's so much that could be done with the worlds (especially in KH2, lol)
That's fair. If what I've heard about FF7 "Remake" is true, I'd be concerned about what Square might deem appropriate for anything called remake now lol. They wouldn't need major remakes, just some quality of life additions😂
A remake doesn't have to be drastic though. Ideally it would just be them using newer tech to smooth out a few areas they weren't able to do as efficiently back then. More than a remaster, but not a reboot.
If anything I at least want them all the have similar enough game play that it's not like being thrown into the deep end when going back to kh1 from bbs or 3. I don't mean adding shotlocks to kh1 but to have the combat be styled and as fluid as each other so that the extra features like attractions and shotlocks feel like additions instead of a play style change.
Yeah, that's not even asking for anything unreasonable. Having them all be up to a similar modern standard is really all that I'd want, IF we were to get a remake. They don't need to be drastic remakes because they still hold up really well. Even just making KH1 somewhat more like KH2 would be really nice.
I would love it, I would buy it, I just think they should update the controls and platforming physics. But I can’t help but feel that they would butcher the art style. There’s a very particular charm to those games that honestly the art direction of KHIII was just completely lacking. But I would also love a way to play the games with the Japanese va. I wouldn’t want them to update the gameplay at all, except maybe the shortcut expansion yeah. Although an abilities menu ala FFVII Remake for a lot of those triangle button actions would be cool. At any rate here’s your name Square, Kingdom Hearts Final Re:Mix Kingdom Hearts II Final Re:Mix
The platforming physics, oh my god, yesss lmao 💀 The art style is absolutely a concern for me, too. I'm glad to know that I wasn't the only one a bit put off by the way KH3 looks. I mean, it's graphically very impressive, but it also very much looks like "KH in Unreal Engine" rather than resembling the traditional style haha. If they could make it so that a remake just looked like the pre-rendered, in-engine cutscenes throughout the whole game, that would be sick. I was super impressed with the transitions from cutscene to gameplay in KH3, and having that be possible for 1 and 2 would be nice. Also, I definitely like the idea of them being called Final Remix 👍
yeah, its a ps2 game, i think every ps2 game that is still popular should get a remake. like its not too badly aged, but its still clunky and deserves one
Yeah, like the remasters have done an awesome job of making the games last, plus they still look great and are fun to play. KH1 does have some annoying quirks that do add to the nostalgia, but also are just kind of annoying sometimes lol. They don't need drastic remakes either. Really, just smoothing out some of the rough edges with some quality-of-life stuff.
Honestly I don’t think so tbh I recently played the hd collection games and they aged really well they still look fantastic even now, I would say that 358/2 needs a full on remake but that’s really it I’m super excited for 4 tho
Yeah, for sure. The remasters have done quite a bit to help make these games last, and they do still hold up very well. This wasn't a demand for remakes or that I'd want them over KH4 lol Just something to discuss for fun and at least consider, since that the games are getting to be a little older now. Days and Recoded absolutely should be remade at some point though lol.
depends on how much it'll hold back the kh franchise. if nomura is taking a lot of time doing mobile game stories instead of doing the spinoff games, I'm going to accept a remake. It's a different case if there's actual spinoff games being made.
Yeah exactly, it will really come down to what's in the pipeline with this new era. I'm really curious to see what's gonna happen! I wouldn't want remakes OVER a new game, but the topic is kind of interesting and at least worth considering. The games are definitely getting a little older, lol
I swear i will never understand why people are so against a remake of KH1, of 2 i understand but 1 has a lot of issues that need to be addressed even thought the game holds up pretty well. I played it and honestly couldn't get far because of the camera controls and the fov being way too uncomfortable, but 7 heard the game has other problems too.
Yeah, like the remasters have done a wonderful job of helping the games last the way they are. And they're still really good, but KH1 especially still has some annoying rough spots. I just thought this would be an interesting topic to discuss considering they are getting to be kind of old now lol. I wouldn't even want drastic remakes. I appear to have upset some people for asking questions though😅😅
This is still a very interesting topic to say this day. It’s the age old question isn’t it? Personally I don’t think it’ll ever happen. There really isn’t any reason to and technically I see the final mix versions as the true definitive way to play kingdom hearts 1 and 2. That’s just how I see it overall.
Yeah, I guess the perspective I was coming from is, if we're asking for remakes of Days and Recoded, should we consider remaking the originals; just enough to make the series a little more cohesive. And add some quality of life and accessibility features 🤔 The games have still held up really well, especially KH2FM, but it's fun to imagine KH1 being reworked just a little to be more like KH2 😂
@@smugaru yeah it’s definitely an interesting thought. Personally I love kingdom hearts 1 no matter what and I don’t care it’s outdated but some added features would be really beneficial I think.
@BrennySpain The remasters really have gone a long way in making them last. So I definitely agree there, too, lol. KH1 still looks soo good, and 2FM is still so much fun to play.
If we could get visual upgrades, with virtually no changes to gameplay, sure, but with how much I didn't enjoy 3's combat, I frankly don't trust that they wouldn't mess up 1 and 2 remakes.
Yeah, if what I've heard about FF7 Remake is true, I'd be pretty suspicious about what Square might try to pull with a remake. I wasn't thinking of anything drastic like that. Really just using newer tech to smooth out some of the rough edges, make them a little snappier. Maybe make KH1 more like KH2 as well.
Yeah, I think the remasters have a great job and they both hold up very well. KH2FM is still surprisingly great. This was not like, a demand for remakes, but it's interesting to consider now that the games are getting to be older. And yeah, KH1 has more rough edges, that while charming do get annoying at times. They don't even need to be drastic remakes either. Really just using newer tech to help smooth out some of the annoying and inconvenient rough edges they probably weren't able to tackle efficiently back then. Hell, even them just reworking KH1 to be more like KH2 would be cool lol.
@@smugaru since kh1 is the only entry point for newcomers. It gets more tedious as time goes by. A remake for kh1 to help newcomer entering the series would be great
@rafagrupp4953 Yeah just adding things to bring it up to more modern standards and make it somewhat more convenient. Nothing crazy because I already like how a lot of it is already, lol.
Remakes can be anything from engine/graphics upgrades to gameplay improvements to environment design, difficulty and pacing adjustment and even story changes. Simply said every old good game or worthwhile IP deserves a shot at a remake. Only people that would object to this are either people that dont understand the concept of what a remake means on a case by case basis, or those who are super fans/retro fans and cant handle any change nor separate two things as isolated entities. Aka even if the remake sucks it doesnt touch the OG. These people are mentally incapable of that.
Truuuuee. I am wondering if there is a confusion between a remake and reboot now, and the concern that Square Enix would pull another FF7R which from what I've observed, apparently is more of a reboot lol. I wouldn't want that for KH! I'm only even considering the possibility of remakes because I really like these games and they hold sentimental value to me. They are worth it! Worth being enjoyed and to not have people turn their nose up at them because of old ideas or technical limitations. They don't need to be drastic remakes either. At least I don't think I was suggesting anything too drastic 😂😂
@@smugaru Honestly I think even the FF7R example is moot. It's really not as bad as people make it sound to be. But my suspicion is that allot of people that happen to like games also really.. really struggle with the prospect of change. Not all mind you, I think a majority of players really enjoy trying new things and old games getting a new remaking. But a part of the playerbase really struggles with this concept mentally. Even if the remake fails in the eyes of the individual and changes to much for the worse. It shouldn't matter because said person was already against a remake and preferred them not even attempting it. Therefor the old thing was always going to be the version they prefer. Again it's a mental and emotional thing. They can't separate it. Even though not attempting a remake and the remake sucking amounts to the same thing. That they don't end up playing the remake. And I personally also love remakes. Sure the retro games are fun. But I don't enjoy playing those on a big screen. I have ways to play those on my phone or a handheld device. But I love the old titles and if they get remade with high fidelity and proper modern gameplay. It's great to play these things on the big screen. Again I think this has nothing to do with FF7R being the reason people are scared. Those games are great remakes imo. Some segment of the gaming population just struggle with this sort of thing. They probably also struggle with this outside of gaming lmao. We just never hear about that and just read the angry comments when a remake is announced/released and they hate it.
@mikev8746 That's a really helpful perspective. Thank you 😮 It's frustrating because, like you said, the original games will exist in some capacity even if a remake were to fail. What really bummed me out with the reception of this video is that (on top of not getting much actual conversation,) it also gives the impression that any complaints expressed by new players getting into the series with the Steam release won't be valid or worth discussing because the games always been that way and have been "remade already" Or the assumption that all of the problems will be fixed through modding now 😅.
@@smugaru I didn't notice the reception cause I didn't fully read all comments. It's a negative one? That would be very telling regarding my theory lol. Anyway don't sweat it you tried and I think the people that agree just like your video or skip through it and thats that. Obviously very emotionally involved people who are afraid of new things will more often spend time trying to interject in the comments. It's not a representation of the majority
@@mikev8746 Yeah absolutely, it has been a bit of a learning experience. And I do agree that it does lends a lot to your theory for sure lol. But the most important things will continue to be having these thought-out discussions. That's what I've realized is the most fun thing about making these videos for me is getting comments like yours haha.
That would actually be pretty sweet. You also reminded me that they might have to replace Deep Jungle due to copyright. If they decide not to go for it again, that would be really cool way to add in some new worlds.
I’m personally tired of remakes. Yes, they iron out the rough edges of the originals. But isn’t that why we love the series? Plus we’ve technically already gotten remakes of the first game. CoM, Re:Coded, and 358 to an extent. I’d much rather have some spiritual successors than remakes or sequels. Taking the aspects of what you enjoy from the original and building on them and\ putting a fun spin on it. Like Jack Skeleton, but with less disastrous results
I agree. A part of the charm is the rough edges, and the remasters have done a lot to help them last so long. It's still interesting to consider, I think lol. I do think Days and Recoded would benefit from proper remakes though. The cutscenes alone do a bit of a disservice haha. Spiritual successors are a really interesting thought, though 🤔 👀
No. they'd destroy both 1 and 2. we need remakes of Days and Coded before anything else gets remade. but even THEN, we dont need remakes of any of the other games (except BBS and DDD to give them proper physics? lol)
Ya knooooww... a BBS remake would be nice, cause... I got very strong feelings about that game lol💀😂 But yeah, I would rather see Days and Recoded get proper remakes, finally. Only after we've got KH4 and gotten to see what else they have planned for this new phase would I even want to seriously consider Remakes of 1 & 2. I am worried that they'd botch it. I don't think they need drastic remakes, just a little smoothing out with quality-of-life improvements.
I feel like if you take your nostalgia goggles off kh1 can use a remake it holds up good compared to most ps2 games but is still dated in a lot of aspects. Clunky controls, unintuitive camera, lack of maps, weird platforming just to name a few would probably make it harder for a kid and most modern gamers from getting into it. But if they did a kh2 remake it should be more faithful to the og game. Essentially just kh2 but make it look and feel like a ps5 games. Maybe more interesting areas to walk around would be nice though instead of empty spacious combat room. But im open to the idea of remakes
Yeah, like the dated aspects are definitely a part of the charm, but at least with KH1, it could use some tweaks. I don't think they need to be drastic remakes because the remasters have held up so amazingly well. I think at least reworking KH1 to be more like 2FM while both games being able to maintain the graphical fidelity of like, the pre-rendered in-engine cutscenes throughout the game would be awesome. I loved how seamless the transitions from in-engine cutscenes to gameplay in KH3 were, and if we could get that with 1 & 2? 👀😍
Yeah, that's fair. The video ended up being more unintentionally targeted at KH1 anyways lol. I'm glad people agree on Days and Recoded needing remakes, though 😂
Days absolutely needs a remake omg 😭lol For KH1, if it were at least reworked to be more like 2FM, that would be nice. If both games could also have pre-rendered in-engine cutscene level graphics throughout the game too, now that would be amazing👏
Trruuuee! 6th Gen games were a different breed lol. But I do feel like (at least with KH1) it can be a little vague and inconvenient at times. Ideally it wouldn't be drastic remakes, just like a few quality-of-life improvements to smooth out a few of the rough edges.
@@smugaru I mean you’re not wrong. I’m playing the og kingdom hearts right now and I’ve been like “where do I go now” like so many times. When I played it as a kid tho, I don’t really remember that being a thing. So did I get dumber? Lol
@funkrobot9762 I think it's a patience thing? When you're younger, you probably didn't notice getting stuck. But as an adult, you're more aware and conscious of your time spent lol
Yeah. I know they just came out on Steam, and the remasters are still awesome, but I'd say it's at least worth considering since the games are getting to be a little older lol. I'd only really consider them after we've had KH4 for a bit and we got to see what they got planned for this new phase.
Yeah, for real. Like, I just thought the topic would at least be interesting to consider, but I do worry that they'd botch it. If there were to be any sort of remake, they wouldn't need to be drastic (the remasters still hold up remarkably well), but I can imagine Square trying to do a little too much with them lol.
I just came to say no. The HD collection literally just dropped on Steam, even just that is a big deal. The steam version will feature even more enhanced backgrounds than the Epic Game Store version supposedly. Now that it's on Steam fans will really be able to mod the f*** out of it and modders will be even more motivated to make mods now that people are going to play the collection now since no one wanted to buy the EGS version unless they were desperate. There's nothing they can do to recreate the magic of KH2 anyways.
Yeah, that's fair. The steam release is hype, and it'll be really exciting to see what more mods will pop up! This was just a topic that I thought was interesting to consider since the games are definitely getting to be older. But the remasters have done so much to help the games last the way that they are.
Haven't played FF16 myself, but I have heard about that. That would actually be really sick! More games would probably benefit from that in general tbh lol.
Yeah. These wouldn't need to be drastic remakes; the remasters are still great. But there are like, little things here and there (especially in KH1) that would be nice to see smoothed out and made a little more convenient.
Yeah, I remember hearing about that. Looking into that again, they were having to like, reverse engineer the OG games using the finalized retail versions lol. It's super interesting.
Nah they are timeless classics and perfect already. They need to focus on KH4 because at this point Sora is the only only one that is carrying this series.
Yeah, I think some of y'all are assuming I'm demanding for remakes to be made instead of KH4. I'm not. I wouldn't want a remake over KH4 or a new side game. This was just something I thought would be interesting to think about considering that the games are getting kind of old now.
@joonarintamaki1553 Yeah, I agree with that. I mainly like the idea of the convenience factors of KH3 being applied to 1 and 2, not how the combat actually flows together. You just linger around in the air so much in KH3 lol. Letting us be able to guard in air was nice, but that could have just been a necessity because of the floatyness 🤣
No remake is needed for this one. They graphics of the first 2 are perfect for the medium and story. The ps2 quality ironically maintains the basic essence of the Disney characters much better, making the immersion quality a bit better. Adding in maps is ok, but that's an update. Not a remake.
The OG art style is still fantastic, I agree lol. That's one of the areas I'd be really iffy about being changed too much. Ideally, if the graphics resembled the pre-rendered, in-engine cutscenes for the entire game, I think that would be really cool It would be really nice if they ever decided to patch maps into KH1😅
@@smugaru I still don't think a remake is necessary, but thatis just my personal view. I completely respect what you are saying. Is it on steam and can you mod it for your playing experience? If not, that may be more of what you are looking for. It seems better than dumping tons of money into a remake.

Lookout guys we got a badass over here
me too
I'd say it needs a quality of life overhaul.
KH 1 & 2 still hold up, but they can be kind of vague and inconvenient at times
The remasters have done quite a bit to make these games last as is though.
KH1's navigation can be a bit confusing at times yeah
aIthough, whiIe not fuII maps, games past 1 aII have mini-maps for what they do a fine job
The vagueness from KH1 is still kind of there lol
KH3 is the easiest to just get up and get going, (which is why it's the one I've started the most so far) they mitigated a lot of the early grind. It's a lot more accessible, but doesn't feel as tactful, I guess?
It also doesn't encourage or explain how to take advantage of its systems well either 😅😅
They should have 358/2 days and Re:Coded get a Re: Chain of Memories PS2 style remake. Don't touch the original games honestly
Yesss big agree with that.
Someone else commented on the Days video with what if Days had gotten a ps2 port, and I'm kind of obsessed with that idea now.
It could have literally been the KH2 Sequel we would have always wanted lol.
Bro, literally NO ONE wants this. It's remastered and available on every console, and they are honestly fine as is.
That would be so good lol😍
It always bugged me that we had no interaction with them outside of some basic cutscenes😅
@@smugaru exactly! DDD let us pet the dream eaters so I know for a fact that they are capable of giving us the same level of interaction with the puppies!
@CFLaughs Yeah, we now have advanced puppy petting technology that wasn't possible back then.
This would be such an awesome addition, lol😂
@@smugaru It would be my favorite addition easily! However, I will say that the platforming is definitely where the original shows its age the most. The jumping is so much smoother in KH 2 and the camera isn't too close. The close camera in the first game is awesome at times but at the same time annoying at others.
@CFLaughs Yeah, you're right. I do forget how close the camera is in KH1. The platforming as well has always been a little "particular," lmao.
Kingdom hearts 1 was basically entirely remade already
1 Needs reaction commands in a remake! Make the boss battles fun!! And yes we need expanded worlds.
No. I'm burnt out on remakes. They end up changing way too much.
That's fair. If what I've heard about FF7 "Remake" is true, I'd be concerned about what Square might deem appropriate for anything called remake now lol.
They wouldn't need major remakes, just some quality of life additions😂
That's the whole point of a remake. It's in the name
A remake doesn't have to be drastic though. Ideally it would just be them using newer tech to smooth out a few areas they weren't able to do as efficiently back then. More than a remaster, but not a reboot.
yup me too
haven't you played Crisis Core?
At any rate here’s your name Square,
Kingdom Hearts Final Re:Mix
Kingdom Hearts II Final Re:Mix
The platforming physics, oh my god, yesss lmao 💀
The art style is absolutely a concern for me, too.
I would love a remake of them both please and thank you.
yeah, its a ps2 game, i think every ps2 game that is still popular should get a remake. like its not too badly aged, but its still clunky and deserves one
This wasn't a demand for remakes or that I'd want them over KH4 lol
Just something to discuss for fun and at least consider, since that the games are getting to be a little older now.
Days and Recoded absolutely should be remade at some point though lol.
@@smugaru ohhh I’ve got ya though but yeah fr those games definitely deserve to be remade
depends on how much it'll hold back the kh franchise. if nomura is taking a lot of time doing mobile game stories instead of doing the spinoff games, I'm going to accept a remake.
@@smugaru dw, kingdom hearts fans are pretty uptight about this for some odd reason
@@brinst_ar I appreciate your kindness lol.
And add some quality of life and accessibility features 🤔
The games have still held up really well, especially KH2FM, but it's fun to imagine KH1 being reworked just a little to be more like KH2 😂
Getting out of nostalgia, KH1 needs some serious quality of life improvement features, kh2 still holds up
Yeah, I think the remasters have a great job and they both hold up very well.
@mikev8746 That's a really helpful perspective. Thank you 😮
It's frustrating because, like you said, the original games will exist in some capacity even if a remake were to fail.
What really bummed me out with the reception of this video is that (on top of not getting much actual conversation,) it also gives the impression that any complaints expressed by new players getting into the series with the Steam release won't be valid or worth discussing because the games always been that way and have been "remade already"
Or the assumption that all of the problems will be fixed through modding now 😅.
If we get a remake they’ll def add more worlds to explore
I got very strong feelings about that game lol💀😂
But yeah, I would rather see Days and Recoded get proper remakes, finally.
🤔 wouldn't be against it but rather have days or the mid /late 2010s mobile games
Yeah, that's fair. I would rather see a Days/Recoded/KHUX remake first. Days definitely needs one lol
Maybe kh1
Definitely recoded, and days
Kh2 is pretty solid where it is
Yeah, that's fair. The video ended up being more unintentionally targeted at KH1 anyways lol.
I'm glad people agree on Days and Recoded needing remakes, though 😂
yeah i would like kh1 and 358/2 days to have their remake ,both of the camera viewing and positioning are awful.
Days absolutely needs a remake omg 😭lol
For KH1, if it were at least reworked to be more like 2FM, that would be nice.
If both games could also have pre-rendered in-engine cutscene level graphics throughout the game too, now that would be amazing👏
Yes, we should.
It is not time for remakes. Those games stand the test of time.
Yeah, the remasters are still great, and have done a wonderful job at helping the games last the way they are.
The early 2000’s jank is part of the appeal, though
It won't happen but I'm down for it
Yeah. I know they just came out on Steam, and the remasters are still awesome, but I'd say it's at least worth considering since the games are getting to be a little older lol.
I'd only really consider them after we've had KH4 for a bit and we got to see what they got planned for this new phase.
kingdom hearts 2 is one of the best and most fluid action games of all time imho. i have a feeling remakes would ruin it in some way.
We don't need remakes... maybe slight updates for KH1 in controls...
But honestly, just port the games as is onto the switch....
Truuuee, not having proper switch ports sucks.
That's my primary console atm. Maybe we'll get somewhere with the Switch 2😅🙏

But there are like, little things here and there (especially in KH1) that would be nice to see smoothed out and made a little more convenient.
Technically they were already remade from the ground up due to losing the source code and assets.
Only Days needs and deserves a remake
Days and recoded for sure need remakes. Having them only be cutscenes does them such a disservice, truly.
All they really need to do it just upscale the graphics but that’s it
That's fair. The remasters we have already gone a long way in helping make these games last.
KH1 and 2 still look so good lol.
Remake could work
As long retains tight combat
Like KH2 combat well KH2
If KH1 were to be reworked to be more like KH2, tighter gameplay, maps, and a little flashier I'd be pretty ok with that honestly 😂
I just find KH2 combat best tbh
Not much fan of floathyess in kh3
Ideally, if the graphics resembled the pre-rendered, in-engine cutscenes for the entire game,
I think that would be really cool
It would be really nice if they ever decided to patch maps into KH1😅
