- Lance Corporal Murray Hambro was serving in Afghanistan in 2010 when the tank he was commanding drove over a huge roadside IED. The injuries he suffered were devastating.
Struggling to cope with life as a double amputee, things spiralled further downhill when he lost his son, Louis, to a terminal illness when he was just two-years-old.
But with the support of family, friends, military charities and a love affair with superbikes, Murray has rebuilt his life.

@@frafttibut he joined in 2012 tho
You Nato bots should stay home, stop invading other countries for oil, just because uncle Sam say so. You will live happier...and longer.
@@frafttihow does a bateman pfp mean anything about past, that movie was made before alot of people on youtube were born
@@user-mr9mu3cq3s Yes, but that picture is nowadays almost exclusively used by those that think of themselves as based, alpha, sigma or some other bs
Thank you for your service Murray, and I am deeply sorry for your families loss. It's amazing how positive your mindset is, truly an inspiration.
Having to take your son of life support is one of those things that's 1,000,000% okay to cry about. Parents shouldn't be the ones burying their children.
From Ireland, thank you for your service in the war on terror. Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your beautiful little boy. Keep on pushing forward. You are an inspiration sir.
Thanks for your service Murray and so very sorry for the loss of Louis
What a hero. I am so sorry for your loss. You are a survivor and truly inspirational. Thank you for your service.
Heroes refuse to take part in wars for resources on behalf of corporations. He isn't that. He was a victim. Real heroes refuse to help the Americans carry out missions that kill hundreds of thousands of civilians.
Thank you for your service, all three of my brothers served in the forces
From one combat veteran to another, I love you dude. Not only have you pushed through your injuries. You also lost a son and continued to push through when most would’ve given up. Continue to stay strong and stay in the fight. Much love from Texas 🤙
Thanks for your service may your son rest in peace couldn't have done it without you.
My god like this incredibly brave man hasn't suffered enough, but his spirit isn't broken he's one tough guy , RESPECT and I'm so sorry you lost your son ❤❤
From one biker to another your son was a hero and you are a hero 😢bless you and your family
What an incredible life this man has lived, honorable man!
Such a humble hero. Thank you for your service. From a U.S. Marine veteran.
You mean terrorist?
Murray❤❤❤😢 Thank You❤❤❤ For Your❤❤❤ Service Because As A Soldier You❤❤❤Ended Up Doing More Than I Did❤❤❤
I’m so sorry, no one should have to go through that. God bless you. Stay strong. We’re all behind you and thank you.
What baffles me is why we need charities to help our wounded soldiers. A politician who becomes prime minister is entitled to get over 100k a year to run their office yet the guys that serve the wars these scum in politics cause get Diddley squat.
Time to change that and give those injured like this, a lifetime wage.
I don’t like saying thank you for serving because I believe the wars we have been in over the last few decades are pointless and did nothing to protect our country.
What I will say is thank you for being the person you are and showing us that no matter what happens to you in life, you can get through it and have a successful life.
Full respect to our armed forces past and present thank you for your service
He only served corporate interests. Not a hero. Just a victim.
As a former Special Forces member, your level of commitment is commendable.
Is there a way that I can support the Veteran's Foundation from Australia?

Im Completely Certain That All Of Us Here Wish We Could Of Not Had You And Your Family Members Go Through That Murray❤❤❤
Jesus Christ, how did this get suggested to me? I watched my son go the same way February 17th 2007. This was fucking tough to watch. I'm damn glad that Mr. Hambro is doing ok though. All of our veterans deserve more than the government gives them.
I have a 4 year old son. This bought tears to my eyes. Your son is so proud of you. Stay strong, fit and healthy, and Merry Christmas.
This man is stronger than 99,99% out there. First he lost his legs, then his son, and there he is. Not giving up on life. He is a real life hero
So sorry for your baby Luis passing,he is your angel now,What a man you are and your amazing wife.
Blown up, lost the bottom half of both legs, medically discharged and then watched his child die. Deepest respect to you for serving our beloved country and going through the loss of a child. I can’t even begin to imagine how you feel.
You’re unbelievably strong for holding it together as well as you did when talking about losing your son.
So sorry for the loss of beautiful son ...God bless your family and thank you for your service.
Thankyou Murray for your service so sorry you lost both legs, and so sad you lost your young son Louis life can be cruel. He's in heaven out of pain, you will meet again x Love to you, your wife, and other son. BIG [ HUGS ] x
This Man has strength I hope I have somewhere deep inside me.
That was very special. Please don't apologize for crying. Men do cry and it's very therapeutic. I can say so myself after its taken decades to heal and be my best.
I would preffer ramping during years in the worst battlefields than seeing my kid dying. This guy is one of the strongest man that I've ever seen.
Stay strong brother, love and respect from Denmark
You’re a legend man❤️
The pain that this poor man has experienced is heart crushing.

RIP little man. May God bless you all.
I am really sorry for your loss. It pierces my heart.
wow respect to you and all who served in armed forces thank u
the part with the child got me. This is my greatest fear to have to made such a desicision. Children should not die before the parents.
Man that's a rough one.... Godspeed my friend...
I saw it say tank and said no way and I guess I was right. It's more of an IFV/APC but damn, thank you for your service man, I've got friends who've served all around the world along with a grandparent who fought in the 2nd world war n I'll always be grateful for the sacrifice people make for their countries.
May Louis find peace in heaven. 🎗🇬🇧🎗from🇩🇪
Top man..respect
what an incredible story. I couldn't even imagine what hes done or seen.
Did not think that I would be crying like a baby midway through this video when i clicked it 😢
Louis is in heaven smiling at you, he knows he had a great Dad
You truly are an inspiration Murray, courage is inadequate to describe what and who you are. Im so sorry for your other tradgedy as well. I hope you and your wifes life become truly blessed.
Brave brave man
Its super sad because veterans especially injured ones don't get the respect they earned
Bloody hell, i thought them viking tracks was tough ole beasties?,so must have been one hell of a blast to leave it looking like that?,glad you pulled through my man, i know it not nice having no pins, but at least you have your life?, its positively good your not wallowing in self pitty? ,a stronger terminator bottom half and a good supportive family& friends wrapped round yer, and you got it made son..this is just the beginning, so never look back??..
You've had a tough slog. Rest and Thank You.
Oh mate you been through it, pls god there's plan behind everything, my respects
Bloody Orthopedic surgeons,,they are brilliant at putting you back together,,,but bloody hell they have no bedside manner AT ALL...
Mine said you'll always have a limp,,,errrr no I won't...And off to the gym I went,,,built up the muscle I'd lost...
Great. Video.Great content.👍💯👍💯
Orthos are totally oblivious to physiotherapy and self phisiotherapy
Rest in peace Louis
I lost my son it killed me never felt pain like it will never get over it till i die miss him think him so much i try not think him cause this ,just like to say i was not brought up in a loving famaly i did not no what love was until that day ex army
I was in Iraq two times. (OIF and OIR). I worked in medical and while we would get IDF (usually rockets) my primary memory is all the young soldiers who had been wounded. That is what my nightmares are. The screaming in pain. The blood. The smells. I dream about it all the time. And the guilt over not doing more.
i am sorry..
rip
A bad man right here
Fear Naught brother!
Don't you say "Sorry" for it... think and hope everyone understands that losing a family member specially your own son and at that age must have sucked.. and its made me fell some tears to.... im sorry man.. R.i.P your son
Jesus man. Hope you doing ok
He should fly FPV, I think that'd be fun for him
💔👍🏼
I wish to hear second party of this story, Afhan side story...
This hero does NOT deserve this. Dis everything right for the country and still has all thus happen to him. Thisnis why Indont believe in a God or anything of such. Thank you for your service 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
What a fucking chad dude been through hell
what were you looking for in a foreign country with weapons
Trying to stabilise and pick up a country who's previous government sponsored international terror missions.
Veterans Affairs deems your injuries as non service compensational. 😢
Has anbody put these guys on orbies like in there feet/stubs. Or am i wrong. X
Prosthetics cant be used forever?
Technically they can but bones loose density with age and then can't hold prosthetics, keep your muscle mass to keep bone density
Hey, even though I strongly consider any Westerners that fought in Afganistan and Iraq as criminals and that IED attack to me should be counted as a home defense, the rest of the story is really sad. As a father to a little child like the boy he lost. Hope the life brings no more tragedies.
thats ok us westerners consider you a waste of space
Not a tank
British with tribal tattoo?
Stay strong brother
Onore a voi folgore❤
Nice IED❤
I get angry at God for this
Being a soldier gets you nothing.
He got his family, he got his friends, he got his people and counrty folk kin, he has no need or care for the feckin gvmt......
Šta si ti trazio tamo u tudjoj zemlji obezbedjivali ste transport droge eto zasto si ti ostao invalid nizasto
brits invading the country of someone else and wondering they dont want you there
i believed that i can fly lolll😄
