    Great review! Love the adjustment, but the next logical step will put you over the edge with all other YT reviewers. You're right, comparing 7I to 7I is pointless. Golf is about yardages, so how does one 190-yard club compare to another 190-yard club -- specifically ball speed, trajectory, descent angle, spin, dispersion, and standard deviation. You got close with the adjustment (191 vs 199), but would love to see you use your club fitter skills to do yard-for-yard club comparisons. Based on what we saw, looks like the Haywood may have actually given the Srizon a run for the money if you had bent it to ~34 deg. Thanks for these videos!!!

    Was convinced to get these after watching this video. Now considering their new combo set.
    They are quite consistent with normal 85/90% swing, 7 iron went 190, but when I went for it I definitely had a few cases of 200-210 like Matt's 218 bomb
    Fantastic for game improvement, went from 25ish to 14 HC by end of the season so hoping I can off-load them to someone else to use and improve.

    On a shot with a 190 yard carry, the data suggests Matt would be hitting a Haywood 8-iron OR a Srixon 7-iron. Both would have the same height and distance. Considering a shorter club is easier to control, why would a player prefer the Srixon over the Haywood? I see this frequently in testing and fitting videos and it always confuses me.

    Specs show a lot of offset on these, 0.20" for the 7 iron which is more than the Ping G410. I know its a small company, but shaft selection is very limited with $30 per club up charge if you don't want the stock KBS Tour. Surprised they're not offering a lighter weight steel option aside from C-Taper Lite.

I play a draw anyway and I know that I could adjust my setup to accommodate the offset and maybe for half the cost of comparables I could do it. My testing suggestion should be that clubs are tested based on loft and not the number stamped on the sole. Why compare 7 irons when one is a 34° and the other 27°? That's just ridiculous.

    Beware of direct to consumer if they have no return policy. I recently called Hogan to order irons. I don’t remember if I asked for a particular model or not. Anyway, I was sent the ptx pro 6 thru 54 degree wedge. After trying the irons I found I couldn’t hit them. I contacted the company and stated the clubs were useless to me. They told me I could trade them in to a company in Dallas and then buy another set. How many fitters or even big box stores would have such a policy. I told them while ordering that I was 80 years old and swung my irons between the high 60’s and up to the mid 70 mph. I am now stuck with a set that cost around 700.00 that I can’t use. Be sure you don’t get stuck like this from a direct to consumer company.

    Joshua Haywood, Good for you guys. Any reputable company should have a return policy. There is a dtc company in Sycamore Illinois that not only has a return policy but also a 60 day trial period too. Good luck with your business. I wish I knew about you before I was robbed by Hogan golf. What a name to desecrate. Shame on them.

      @featherfoot614 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What happened with Hogan?As far as I know, they do have a try before you buy program. I have heard people complain that they can't get single replacement irons.

    • @williamjohnson8092
      @williamjohnson8092 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Colin Scott you have to pay to try their clubs. I think they will let you try 2 at a time. So by the time you try the different shafts, different lies, different lofts and different heads, you will have payed for the set a few times over and have spent months receiving and returning clubs that still may not be correct with no return policy. The clubs I ended up with were recommended by their rep on the phone. I told him I was 80 years old with a slow swing speed and the clubs they sent were a small head players iron. I ended up selling them for about a third of what I payed for them. Simply couldn’t handle that particular head. Be sure to deal with someone with a return policy. Try sub 70.

      @@joshuahaywood66 I'd definitely love to know if your market research tells you that the logical next step would be a pure blade, or if you'd be better off with a more forgiving player style iron.
      This is assuming that your line is as game improvement biased as it seems in pictures and this video.

    • @joshuahaywood66
      @joshuahaywood66 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DickMaths Hey there! This iron is categorized as a game improvement iron because of its hollow body, wider sole and offset. The reality is though that anyone can play it and it will improve their accuracy and confidence. I am a single digit handicap that played blades from the age of 14. After a couple rounds with these irons, I was so happy to make the switch. I can still work the ball when I want to but my misses aren't even close to as big, which means I hit more greens. We will definitely be looking at traditional blades in the future, but for the time being we have created these irons to help all levels of golfer.

    Guys, I don't know about you, but for us normal golf consumer, with all the different types of clubs manufactures, including this company, I have to say what chance in heck do we have any chance in picking the right club for us not to mention all the different shaft options, one has no chance in picking the right equipment for one to use, I have to say I'm totally confused by this overwhelming smorgasbord of options available. Especially with the price of iron increasing to well over $250 per iron if not more. I continue to ask myself after spending close to over thousands on irons, Hybrids, fairway woods, putter and driver, "Do I have the right equipment"? This is even after going for a club fitting. Why do all the TH-cam club testers talk so much about chunky top line? If you ever hit the ball there maybe important but that is not the case. I don’t even look at the club except to set it behind club. After that I never even see the club my focus is on the ball. I think if your looking at club and not the ball you could not hit the ball, so why so much talk about top edge?

      Hey! We definitely understand your thoughts. The reality is the offset is really only more noticeable on the 4-5 irons and as you continue on, the offset gets closer to regular specs. For example, our 8 irons matches the offset of the JPX919 TOUR IRONS and our 9 iron and PW actually have less.
