you seem knowledgable about dirtbike performance and I appreciate how you explain the particular upgrades/gripes that are mainly just rider preference. As someone who wants to learn more I subbed. keep grinding bro.
I think these YZ's look incredible even in stock form, love the Renthals on there too. I'm on a GasGas 250 smoker but have been keeping my eyes on these FX bikes for the AZ desert I ride.
can't wait to get some seat time this weekend on my 25 wr250. good review on the fx. very similar bike. i wish the wr had the unlocked ecu. i'll definitely be upgrading that on mine once yamaha has the competition one available.
I would advise against the MAGURA. I tried it. 3 issues. 1. It's literally no easier to pull. And I even added the midwest easy pull lever to it. 2. Very difficult to adjust and get in the sweet spot. It's actually just a hydraulic cable, so it does need to be adjusted when the clutch gets hot or you'll be slipping and it requires wrenches. Hard to get it right and also have the lever distance where I like it. Unlike the KTM true hydro. #3. It mounts 1" off the header and I cooked mine during race practice. Fluid all over and no clutch at all. 4 miles in deep woods single track. Had to use the starter to do a 1st gear roll and try not to touch brakes and stall for 4 miles. I threw that damn thing in the trash..huge waste of money. Just run a ASV PRO F4 OR F6 perch and roll it forward when you feel a little fade. But I feel like it doesn't do it once the plates are broken in like it did when it was new. Swap out the cable with a motion pro after a while and lube it regularly with the motion pro lube kit.
Just take it to Factory Connection for suspension and be done Bro. Screw trial and error. $1200 but the Blue Cross deductible is up to $5000 now. This is way more priority than a $700 exhaust on a bike that has plenty of power as you said. Ship to FC Oklahoma or your nearest. Trust me.
I've used Factory Connection a few tomes and they do great work but I do have a local suspension guy 20 minutes away from me that I will be using rather than shipping and waiting etc
@@Moto619films Yeah, as long as you get the right front and rear springs for your weight, I don't think you can go wrong with KYB. Regardless of who does it.
Hey there mate Brett from down under sounds like we are about the same height. Awaiting the arrival of my 25 250f which should be ready in a couple of days. Just wondering if you thought about lowering the rear suspension at all or did you just do the front and SAG. Interested in your thoughts, thanks for the vids Regards Brett.
@alexgreenslade5265 keeping stock height my sag is set around 106 and I like running my Forks a little bit higher up in the clamp because of the feeling characteristics in tight sections. But make sure anytime adjusting your fork height check your sag afterwards 🤙
I have a 2021 250fx and I really love it, it has 280 hours now and I haven't even adjusted the valves and runs great, no problems at all, I'm really thinking about selling it and buying a brand new 2025, do you know if there are any differences between a 2021 and 2025, one thing that I specifically like to know is the suspension, is it stiffer or softer then the 21, should I try it or you think is the same, what's your opinion, thanks.
For a guy who rides 90% hare scramble type riding would you take this, Honda factory or 250rx? I’m on a 2019 250rx now, got a red moto tank coming and over all I like it but another season I’ll be ready to sell it. I hate the stock fuel tank and would like more bottom end. I’ve ridden a 2024 ktm 250 moto bike. They rip and are easy to ride. You’ll like it.
I've had the 25 crf 250rx handled pretty good but it is an ugly sob with that muffin tank lol the Honda Works Edition is also great but it need to be set up properly I think it would be too nice of a bike to thrash in the woods I'd take the Yamaha out of those 3 bikes.. if you look back in some of my older videos You'll see the 25 250 RX
@@Moto619films dude the tank is awful lol, I'm hoping they just ditch the stupid tank and I'd get another but yeah I'm leaning Yamaha if they don't. like you said the works is dope but I don't really want to change anything but the basics like bars and tires. appreciate it I'll check those vids out.
Serious question, I’ve been eyeballing the 2025 250 fx, unfortunately haven’t had any around me to check out lately. ( Lexington NC ). Very curious what you were able to get that one for out the door, up to you if you are comfortable answering that. Just genuinely curious what they run for out the door since I haven’t had the chance to go look at one yet. Thanks in advance.
Any issues with flame outs in the slower technical sections? I'm currently on an XC250 smoker, almost impossible to stall, but am considering one of these Yamaha's. Vids are great, good audio, keep it up!
Thx and no stalling issues I've put it in some tight stuff if you look back at some of my other videos it won't look like a 250 or 300 smoker but I'm impressed with how slow i can lug it. They do make a gytr flywheel for this bike it's a little pricey at 300 but I'm tempted to try it
That's a sweet bike too basically the same as this one just a 450 it's definitely more manageable than the 450 motocross bike but it's still a handful in real tight situations just depends on what type of riding you do. If I was in an hour-long race I think I'd be worn out on a 450
I’ve been waiting for this bike to come out for a year (ever since last year 450fx updates were announced and stated 250 would be updated 2025). Now that it is, I’m really struggling with buying this or buying a 2025 ktm xcf factory Edition, especially after hearing about your dissatisfaction with the KYB suspension. I’d prefer to not have to tinker other than clickers. Thanks for the review and update!
I have a 2023 and it is unbelievable how good they are out of the box

I am in southern az my self, just got a 2025 wr250 . Its on my channel.
Love your videos! Love to see you compare this bike to a 2025 KTM 250xcf.
@PeggyPeters-c1o i may have one soon I'm looking for a 25

Good to know thanks for saving me 300$😅

Cool bike I love the stock look !!!!

@matiasmaldonado510 25 is all new bike suspension on 21 might be a little bit softer
Love to hear what ya think of the 25 ktm 250xcf vs.this bike.. tnx.
Speaking of the suspension I have a 23 yz250x and the suspension is rough even after the first 20 hours of desert riding it'll beat you up

Would it be a good bike for high level gncc racing? And does it compete with other high end offroad race bikes like ktms and kawasakis?
I think that's what this bike is more intended for is the GNCC stuff

What are your thoughts on the 450fx? Saw some older ones for cheap (new)

How does this compare to the Honda 250 factory edition?
Can't go wrong with the Honda we at the price point . For all around riding I'm taking the fx. if I only did motocross the honda we 250

This bike is good but You can't go wrong with xcf 350 Factory Edition fire!!
I think you just sealed the deal for me! LoL. Thanks!
