      This is the black/red Arizona Simi Seal. This is my favorite for carp.

    Thanks man! I will tye some up. How do you think this will work in Texas?

    • @carponthefly8282
      @carponthefly8282  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should. Damsel flies and leaches are both pretty common in Texas water, so this fly should absolutely work well.

    Are the colors on the carp slider important? Do the carp spook from such bright colors?

    • @carponthefly8282
      @carponthefly8282  ปีที่แล้ว

      The traditional fly is tied in a rust color. And I am sure that would work. Also Olive or black. The blue is supposedly the color of the crayfish right after they molt. That is where that combo comes from. I have had good luck with that color in a couple different spots. But you certainly could use different colors.

    Thank you. Are the bead chain in plastic?

    • @carponthefly8282
      @carponthefly8282  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they are, I this same fly with plastic bead chains. 3.4mm or 4mm stainless bead chain, and with dumbbell eyes. Depending on the depth of the water.

    Good video, do you sell any of this pattern?

      I do not sorry. I am trying to find a good supplier for carp flies, but right now I don’t have one to share. If I do I will update with that information.

    Is there an alternative hook? I can seem to find the one you use.

      You can really use any bonefish hook. Gamakatsu SL12S. Or this is even better

    Hook size ? Materials in English,

    • @carponthefly8282
      @carponthefly8282  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Anywhere from a size 2-12. Most of the forage in my area is 2-3” so I tie a lot of 2-4 for those. The wing is craft fur, the dubbing is the craft fur under hair, red and black barred rubber legs. 3.4mm bead chain, or lead dumbbell if you are fishing deeper water or water with current. Cheers!
