An absolutely gorgeous flat. The dining room took my breathe away - the stamped leather on the walls - stunning. You'd have to stand for ages in each room to take in all the detail. Fab.
Alidad has the elements of opulence! A period home fit for a King and Queen with all the bells and whistles to draw you in and keep you in awe. I love the traditional mixed with the modern and the whimsy of the past gives the home a feeling of cozy. I can tell Alidad is OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) where placement and objects have to be exact and symmetrical in nature. This is a condition of brilliance and to be so gifted allows one to layer beyond mere decorating.
What a wonderful experience to see again alidads home. It’s often featured but it’s so extraordinary, one never tires of seeing it! An exquisite jewel box of glittering light, deep velvet and surprise! And alidad seems such a modest self effacing man. But with bags of charm! Almost a19th century gentlemen of leisure!

Jib doors are amazing, preserving the symmetry of the room while maintaining access to on off balanced entrance, like his red room, with the jib door hidden on the left. His design is so well mastered.
I can't believe out of all the videos I have watched I pick and chose elements that I like but this designer has a flow like none of the others. His spaces breathe with life even though there are many objects.

I have only one issue, please do not take it the wrong way my intention is not to be annoying or critical, it is because I work with sound and my only dream for each post is that you are able to reduce the "spill" in each space wit the sound. The rooms often have a tinny acoustic and it would be so wonderful to reduce this issue as would increase the enjoyment so much. I LOVE THIS CHANNEL SO MUCH YOU ARE AMAZING. But since I don't think this gentleman is from that region, I was sure I was mistaken. ;-) Huh! So they are fashionable now. When I was growing up, and where I lived, such things were thought to be so very petty-burgoise. How times change... :-)

Also, seeing the place on video made me realize it's smaller than I thought when I saw it in print. Another reason I love Quintessence!
