Can you do a video where you work with someone who has wavy hair, 2a/2b waves? Showing them how to work with their hair, what products to use/avoid, and how to maximize the natural clumps?

OMG! I’ve been watching you from the beginning, and how come I never saw this video? I actually came for using the devadiffuser, even after having it for 4 years I’m not sure how to use it. The nape of my neck I can never get dry, so I came to find out why.

Mell I love this video after watching some of ur videos I decided to buy the deva curl kit and was amazed like you that my hair was super soft. My scalp has never felt as clean ad it does with deva curl. I intend to buy the deva curl diffuser soon.

Funny - I use those same three products in the reverse order and the foam on my ends to prevent frizz. I use the spray gel for lift at my roots.. I’ve been pretty happy but will try it your way because, just like curly hair, no two days are EVER the same!!! :-)

I love deva curl. It makes my hair so soft, softer than any other shampoo I’ve ever tried, even better than the Alterna hair care caviar products. I feel bad for the girls that it didn’t work out for but I don’t think it’s deva curl at all. Because I’ve got sensitive hair, and it bring out so much beauty in my curls. Now I just have to be not lazy to actually buy a satin pillowcase so that it doesn’t look so messy all the time. Like I got scared because of all the girls saying that deva curl doesn’t work for them and I stopped using it for 6 months, and nothing worked. I’m back on deva curl and I swear the DIFFERENCE. So much more definition and shine.
Did you ever try the setting spray Set It Free? I use it often. It gives my fine hair a bit more texture. It helps with volume and frizz for me.
I would really love a video of your opinion of their no poo shampoo and conditioner. Because their shampoo is a cream base, I wondered what your thoughts on that is versus a sulfate-free foaming kind of shampoo. Love all of your videos!! Second! Im used to using a sulfate free shampoo by redken (magnetics) that is also good for colored hair. I use a lot of products so I'm curious if the nopoo will get them all out and if it's color safe.
Could you do a video on say you're out with friends and end up staying the night somewhere and you have no products with you how would u do ur hair the next day

The day I used the cream and gel my hair looked great. I took a shower last night (not washing my hair) and now my hair does not look good anymore. Any tips for how to sleep so my curls hold and not look bad the next day?

Scrunch and plop right before you diffuse take some gel or foam and scrunch it into your hair then diffuse if you want a cast

Hi beautiful young funny and curly lady. I‘m 69 years old with red curly/wavy hair. I use the Deva shampoo, conditioner and gel. Nice soft curls, but a bit too soft. What can I use for more fixation/cast.

Love your videos! So funny! I have long 2c / 3a hair and I use deva curl, Any tips for getting the underneath longer layer little more defined. I feel it can get less curl because it's long and heavier and they won't clump like the shorter layers. Maybe I'm not putting enough product?

It's interesting that you don't follow the Devacurl method that I was taught when I got my Devacut by just using the no poo shampoo and conditioner and gel. Thank you thank you because I've had too many complications with dry curls and frizz when I follow their method of sopping wet hair.

Hey so I’m trynna decided between the wave maker and the mousse, I have waist lenth 2a to 2c hair and I know she’s low porosity. I can’t decide what would work best for me, anyone have any idea?
TheMistyclover I have waist length wavy hair as well. I love the wave maker! My hair is super heavy though, so the definition doesn’t stay very long for me. I’ve yet to find a product with enough hold to last a couple days. However, using the WaveMaker and then following with a gel (I’ve also seen people use the foam and then wave maker) give more hold

Hey Mel, I’ve been following you religiously as I’ve transitioned to my natural curly hair. I’ve been officially on the journey since last January when i stopped straightening, but I pulled it straight into buns because I had to wear a neck brace for two months. For the last month I’m fully doing all the tips, and products you suggested. Can you teach me what to ask for in a hair cut? I have a shoulder length lob, no layers! My beauty supply lady told me their strongest hold gel was their best seller vs light hold.
I think its dependant on preference and what curl type is using it. if I use a gel with too strong of hold I lack volume and movement, so personally, I prefer something lighter and liquidy!

Ugh too much effort required
The issue you’ve having with with attaching the devacurl hand diffuser is you first have to take off the green band and stretch it some. Then put it back on and slide it up as far as you can towards the fingers on the diffuser. Now you can attach your dryer to their diffuser by pushing down lightly, then move the green band over the diffuser to hold those 4 green prong type things to the dryer. It takes a little time so i have one dryer solely dedicated to diffusing so I don’t have to mess around with taking the diffuser off and on. It’s so worth it! DevaCurl has videos on instructing how to attach the diffuser….don’t worry, I didn’t read them either. I just tried shoving it on my dryer like you did 😂 Customer service was extremely helpful and super nice! If you have any questions about this diffuser, their products, anything really call them at 212-274-8686. They are in New York-Eastern Time zone. Their website is really helpful and has lots of videos. Oh yea, they told me the diffuser fits dryers that have a 2-2.5” barrel, 5.5”-6.5” circumference and 2.5-6.6” in length…if that’s of any help. Hope you this helps you and others.
