We just learned about Gaslands and haven't received the book yet. I played Car Wars in the 80's. This video is by far one of the best videos on the rule set we've seen. Thanks!
I am sure you will enjoy the game , not as technical as the old car wars ( yeah I played back in the day ) but it is a faster moving and IMHO is a more fun game ( well unless the fun for you is the tech number crunching ) great game that is likely to be the cheapest table top minitures game in the world ( real cheap getting cars and if your crafty making them into weapons of the apoc is simple and cheap )
Search it online you can download or just print off basic rules, template sets and a conversion for 6 sided till you decide to invest or just get your purchases.
You probably dont care at all but does any of you know a way to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb forgot my password. I love any tricks you can give me!
Fantastic tutorial Saul! We just played a few games over the weekend and I wish I had seen this first as we screwed up a bunch of stuff but I will definitely be referencing this in the future. Hope all is well with you my friend 👊
WASTELAND my friend is really into this game and im looking into getting started on it! I think I want to be ridiculous and do a Lambo for one of my first cars :P
watched a lot of other tutorials and i keep getting lost... thanks for being slow and concise with what your talking about! Nooow i know what the hell im doin lol
12:17 and 16:37 What do you mean "it can drive straight through it"? Like, plow through a concrete wall or something? That doesn't seem to make sense so I'm sure I'm misunderstanding.
Post-collision vehicles have a sort of abstracted 'ghost mode' where they just sorta phase through everything for their first gear move, mostly just so collided vehicles can get back into the thick of the game without too much frustration.
@@HeadHunterSix I play White Line and Road Rage....trust me, there are more than a few "esoteric" concepts to try and just deal with in Gaslands lol. I only started Gaslands for the story and the fact more people know about it than the two I usually play. Of the thousand or so vehicles I made only about 50-100 are built for Gaslands. In this instance though, if it helps, I usually just assume it's a careful move over stuff like debris or rocks etc or a quick reverse into forward turn when it's a wall etc
@@HeadHunterSix basically Axels & Alloys and Gaslands are great for Kids, Newbies, Casual Gamers and Experienced Gamers that just want a quick, fun system while AutoKill, Road Rage and White Line are for more Experienced Gamers that prefer a bit more realism. Road Rage is especially excellent, it's primary design was for Death Race but can be used for anything from 1920's Cop vs Gangster stuff, various post apocalypse etc.....I run a Mad Max timeline game (usually set in the Mad Max 2 era...so around the early to mid 1990s) which precludes any vehicles made past 1986
It's sealant filler mixed with paint and sand painted onto the drop cloth yep, real sturdy and flexible. There's lots of videos up on making one if you're curious, try "DIY Battle Mat".
You were kinda going fast and mentioning things as if they were trivial... I don't quite understand: do you HAVE to shift gears every time you move? Does it HAVE to be up to a higher one? And what exactly happens if I stay on gear 1?
you do not have to shift gears everytime, but there are 6 gear phases and if you stay in first gear you will only be able to activate in gear phase one meaning you are missing out of 5 movements per turn.
@@CementSaul will you be going over that anytime soon? It's just that I learn better from being taught how to play than I do reading a book. So far your videos have been the easiest to follow
@@chronicallycrude4149 Most of the time a car will lose all its hull points, pretty much their hit points. I would heartily agree with my fellow Gaslanders that this is one of the best tutorial videos available
I love this tutorial! But I want to know how to customize my cars!
You need the rulebook for that.

Cheers! I'll upload videos for the more advanced rules down the line, too!

i love that all explenations start with the car in the parking space instead just somewhere on the board ;)
I’ve had the book for 2 years. Finally played our first games yesterday with the kids. We’re all hooked!!
You explained this so well and made this game not daunting or scary to try. It looks like a lot of fun!

How does ammo tokens work?
At 09:00, the slide position on a turn has to face the same direction. The slide position on a straight can face either direction. Correct?
How many skid dice and regular dice does each player need? Please and thank you!

@@CementSaul I guess it's an abstraction I'll have to learn to accept, though I wonder if it's something that people can or do exploit.

Hello I wanted to get the dame playmat as You could You pass me the imagen yo print it plase
Hi, the playmat for this video is hand made!
are they ever going to release like a cheaper team builder rule set? $30 is a bit steep.
It’s on kindle for 20
@@bipinnambiar I'm a bit poor, so I don't have a kindle.
@@DARKthenoble they have a website, available on all devices, including pc's
@@DARKthenoble they also sell a pdf version on the official site for the same price.
@@bipinnambiar I only make $12 an hour and i dont even have electricty. This is a ford f150 powered laptop.
Id love to play this but i know very well i wont be able to convince anyone to play with me
You could play it solo if you don't mind going that direction? Play one car on each team to keep things nice and quick.
How does a player get eliminated?
Depends on scenario, but the most common way is when all their vehicles are wrecked.
