Decided to learn Kazuya during the beta. By the end i got the bare bones basics down but man, watching you with a lifetime of Kazuya experience I now appreciate the ocean between a beginner and an expert. This ocean between beginner and expert did not exist with my tekken 7 main.
It took hours and hours before I was able to consistently do an electric when I wanted to in a match. It took even longer to consistently WIN. It just takes time, but it's rewarding. Kazuya is cool af

The worst of the nerfs were to his combo game. His heat bound and combo consistency nerfs made him feel absolutely atrocious to play. I had to switch to Bryan because trying to combo with Kazuya felt like pulling teeth
Yes! Only on the last hour of the last day did I switch back just to lab more. I accepted the small combos but CD,3 could be sidestepped anywhere on the screen 😢
Man watching mainman play always motivates me despite the nerfs on Kaz i will still play no matter what, im 22 and started playing Tekken back when i was 16 due to his videos although i started in tag 2 , i bought all the previous Tekken games and played them all , i always go back from time to time, mostly TK4 and TK6

Combination of the character select music, thuddy sound design, Jin becoming pea brain mode, and no Mishimas in the game just made me want to turn it off tbh.
What they need to do to Kazuya after those nerfs is boost the damage of a lot of his incidental strikes. If Kaz is gonna be like this then he needs better beef in neutral.
2:30 I think its not about ender to get wall travel, it's just this flip mechanic does not homing far like the screw mechanic in Tekken 7. So to compensate for it we need to use heat bounce and heat dash to get the wall travel that we used to.

I can see the basic play style is still the same with 7. But actually in 8 Kazuya get some good mids, like ff2 or f3 (quicker by 2 frames, can be counted as a new move)
How I feel regarding this matter I am just happy that all my muscle memory from playing a lot of old Tekken as of late is minutely transferrable in terms of stepping/walking away from stuff
also I gotta say this T8 kaz design looks great but his fighting style is lacking ,looks so underdeveloped like they don't want him to grow I've been playing Tekken since the 3rd one seriously I love what was done for Jin for his first appearance while Kaz was dead and even for evolution sake tekken tag Jin in my opinion was a hybrid between his father and mother then they squander the idea to revamp the hybrid once more didn't initially like him , then he grew on me ,and then in time realized Jin is likely the best well-rounded character in the game and jin's counter parts have grown with him Hwoarang, Eddy and Xiaoyu where is Kazuya's growth and we don't want more big flashy moves . yeah the most I can do with bryan is 91 damage, none rage and 99 with rage no super. I cant break the 99 damage. seems to be a damage lock on the character. Most of the cast I can get around an 76
Sad as a Mishima main, my expectations for Tekken 8 have diminished. After almost two years of practicing with Mishimas in Tekken 7, I learned a lot of cool things, like df2 pewgf and multiple electric combos. I also mastered many fundamentals, such as punishment and movement. However, with Heihachi and Devil Jin not being playable characters, maybe in the future for 6 or 7 dollars, unfortunately, I no longer have the motivation to buy the game at full price. Anyway, with Kazuya being boring to play, maybe I'll consider purchasing the game when it becomes more affordable. This is just my opinion. :( :( :(

from someone who has only played Tekken casually, tekken is pretty easy to learn compared to other fighting games imo

yeah the most I can do with bryan is 91 damage, none rage and 99 with rage no super. I cant break the 99 damage. seems to be a damage lock on the character. Most of the cast I can get around an 76

Sad as a Mishima main, my expectations for Tekken 8 have diminished. After almost two years of practicing with Mishimas in Tekken 7, I learned a lot of cool things, like df2 pewgf and multiple electric combos. I also mastered many fundamentals, such as punishment and movement. However, with Heihachi and Devil Jin not being playable characters, maybe in the future for 6 or 7 dollars, unfortunately, I no longer have the motivation to buy the game at full price. Anyway, with Kazuya being boring to play, maybe I'll consider purchasing the game when it becomes more affordable. This is just my opinion. :( :( :(
