He would be pretty good but his damage is so low for the execution required (like Lee in tekken 7 but without the great wall-carry) and his hitboxes are bad. Like if Reina does a d4 against him, and he blocks it (-15), he cannot launch it because twin pistons whiffs 90% of the time (only hits if you're slightly to her left). Same goes for most other generic d4s if they hit from anything but point-blank. Even Bryans snake edge, twin pistons will whiff. I mean you should use ws2 there but still, twin pistons should not whiff on a blocked snake edge. Punishment is supposed to be his strong suit but his punishment is unreliable and damage is low.

I say this as a Kaz main that is really starting to see the gaslighting surrounding him with regards to Tekken 8 specifically.

As much as I hate automatically being at a disadvantage by playing against an S tier, I could live with characters like Shaheen, Kazuya, Lili, Reina etc being the S tiers, rather than characters who give you literally no counterplay options like Dragunov and Feng 🥱 like if you really want those chars to keep all their tools, at least make the DAMAGE balance appropriate for how fair/unfair the tools are.. *cough* Xiaoyu

If you're going to have maxed out evasion and punishment tools then it's gonna have to cost you in offense. They have no problem making Kazuya excel in oki and power strikes at the expense of poking, horrible tracking, incomplete throw game, and holding you hostage with EWGF to handle your 15f on block punishment. Why can't they do the same with all the characters?

I wish there was a place to see how many of each charachter are in each tier. I have people telling me I'm getting carried with Jin when they play Xiaoyu, Feng, Shaheen, Azucena, Alisa, Raven etc
Jin is great but not top 5,raven is solid,nothing special,just can get away with a lot of stuff for free when the opponent doesn't know the matchup,the rest u mentioned are just a nightmare to face

I won’t say that Jin carries people but I think he does have insanely good tools and he’s very good at just about everything tbh but he’s not on the level of those characters you mentioned. You actually have to think when you use Jin. I have trouble fighting him for some reason lol

I wish kaz’s twin pistons hand a little more range. It’s annoying when you block a snake edge and try to punish with twin pistons only to straight up miss. Also I don’t hate Jin, I think he’s cool I just want to tone the tracking down a little bit. Feels like a lot of his sweeping animations will clip both side of side steps also trying to side step one of his heat smashes will get you pulverized.

Also wtf blue kazuyas don’t have execution? Kazuya bryans and lees at these ranks are gigachads and way better than others.

Yeah it was way too much for me. This game isn't for Kazuya mains so I just left it and started playing Resident Evil or some shit where the CPU feels a lot smarter than the braindead players online playing Dragunov.
It’s honestly so sad too see feng being so broken in this game, I have yet to use him but he was my favorite character since I started in tekken 6. I’ve played against him since getting the game just a couple weeks ago and see why every one is complaining. Feng, Dragunov, Xiaoyu, and Azucena are like the bosses from the first version of Street Fighter II Champion Edition. If anyone remembers what a shitshow that was when Balrog, Vega, M. Bison and Sagat were playable boss characters before they got toned down in later versions of that game. I was around in those days at the arcades and just got DESTROYED by Sagat and M. Bison. People were only playing the boss characters, so if you pick Chun-Li or some other normal character, you were going to get your wig split. They were so OP it was ridiculous. I think these Tekken characters are pretty close to that right now!

He's really not if you understand the match up he doesn't anything that locks you down like drag feng alisa etc most of the time when he looks like he's plus on block he's plus 1 or 2
Shaheen is strong but he's not a cancer character like the top tiers or alisa he doesn't lock you down into 50/50 All the time people just need to understand the match (and it's an easy match to learn you won't find any xio gimmicks there don't worry) than people will accept him much more than any strong character in this game
State of tekken 8 os so bad, game boils down to throwing out random hop kicks and launchers and hope they connect and if it doesn't just do it until it hits That is literally everyone's playstyle and its currently the meta

idk why high ranks never use rage art. the move is just broken. if your back is against the wall and you get rage every single dude and their mom will do their oki 50/50 shit. and rage art beats it always. because if you don’t stop the wall pressure you die anyway and rage art puts you back into neutral you lose no health even if you trade and now you only need 1 launch for a comeback you have straight up nothing to lose by abusing it against the wall or trading vs an aggressive player
They do but it’s also very risky to do most/half the people in high ranks will launch you for a blocked rage art so that in itself makes it not worth going for in those ranks but sometimes it could be a respect thing idk

They tend to wait for it as soon as you have rage. Especially if it's apparent they're annoying the crap out of you. Opponent will suddenly stop attacking or try and bait you into using it and expects the same if they're in rage.
@@Beforezzz i don’t mean this mid ranks rage art stuff like baiting you or something haha i mean reacting rage art for example with kazuya the iconic vortex just loses. you can’t react to his low or mid it’s impossible you have to guess but what you can react to is for any movement at all so even if he waits and just wave dashes at you you can still distinguish wave dash from any attack pressed and now rage art beats all 3 options you just wait for any attack and then you beat the vortex it’s possible i labed it for a few hours with a buddy and even he as giga legacy player was shocked how it destroys nearly all 50/50 scenarios but you need enough hp to trade a hit otherwise reacting rage art is not possible and then it becomes your launch ticket.
If this video isn't proof TMM has grown into a more tolerant player then I don't what is. Some of those match-ups would've had me ripping my shirt off and hating Tekken 8 all together.
Kazuya just needs a little buff not a big buff but just little considering he’s already a well balanced character but his damage is so low that’s my only complaint about him.

@@zaimrana2746 I know blue tank Kaz’s are monsters, what I’m saying is the execution and skill required to get him there, most other players in the same ranks do not have, cause they don’t need to. Kaz works harder then any other character in the game to be effective and I think he should be more effective as a reward for all that hard work

Yeah it was way too much for me. This game isn't for Kazuya mains so I just left it and started playing Resident Evil or some shit where the CPU feels a lot smarter than the braindead players online playing Dragunov.

It’s honestly so sad too see feng being so broken in this game, I have yet to use him but he was my favorite character since I started in tekken 6. I’ve played against him since getting the game just a couple weeks ago and see why every one is complaining. B1 is ridiculous in this game as a panic button when you can get a guaranteed shoulder that acts as a heat activator. They need to make some serious adjustments
You can’t activate heat with heat engager moves during a combo. You can only do that with a heat burst

Feng, Dragunov, Xiaoyu, and Azucena are like the bosses from the first version of Street Fighter II Champion Edition. If anyone remembers what a shitshow that was when Balrog, Vega, M. Bison and Sagat were playable boss characters before they got toned down in later versions of that game. I was around in those days at the arcades and just got DESTROYED by Sagat and M. Bison. People were only playing the boss characters, so if you pick Chun-Li or some other normal character, you were going to get your wig split. They were so OP it was ridiculous. I think these Tekken characters are pretty close to that right now!

Shaheen is strong but he's not a cancer character like the top tiers or alisa he doesn't lock you down into 50/50 All the time people just need to understand the match (and it's an easy match to learn you won't find any xio gimmicks there don't worry) than people will accept him much more than any strong character in this game

Kazuya is strong but S tier characters coupled with high level players suddenly make him seem sewer tier.
You can see it for yourself. Slightly off axis and your combos drop. Wanna punish Nina's F1+2 with 112? If you're too far away your second jab whiffs. He does have strong wall pressure and heat but that doesn't mean he isn't inconsistent asf.
Kazuya players are some of the biggest crybabies and the biggest downplayers of Tekken 8, it's laughable. They're up there with Steve players who were like 'He's bottom 5!! He's B tier!!!' 😒
As a Shaheen main, I can def say he's just a weaker Law in almost every way. But Shaheens online do a lot of fake stuff that no one knows how to play against

if your back is against the wall and you get rage every single dude and their mom will do their oki 50/50 shit. and rage art beats it always.
because if you don’t stop the wall pressure you die anyway and rage art puts you back into neutral you lose no health even if you trade and now you only need 1 launch for a comeback
you have straight up nothing to lose by abusing it against the wall or trading vs an aggressive player
They do but it’s also very risky to do most/half the people in high ranks will launch you for a blocked rage art so that in itself makes it not worth going for in those ranks but sometimes it could be a respect thing idk

They tend to wait for it as soon as you have rage. Especially if it's apparent they're annoying the crap out of you. Opponent will suddenly stop attacking or try and bait you into using it and expects the same if they're in rage.

for example with kazuya the iconic vortex just loses.
you can’t react to his low or mid it’s impossible you have to guess but what you can react to is for any movement at all
so even if he waits and just wave dashes at you you can still distinguish wave dash from any attack pressed and now rage art beats all 3 options you just wait for any attack and then you beat the vortex it’s possible i labed it for a few hours with a buddy
and even he as giga legacy player was shocked how it destroys nearly all 50/50 scenarios
but you need enough hp to trade a hit otherwise reacting rage art is not possible and then it becomes your launch ticket.
