Kate, you should get your facts right, this game & indeed the rest of the tour games were completed, the tour as you said was not cancelled.
South African Rugby Springbok tour that I filmed at the SCG in July 1971. You can see the overwhelming anger of the hideous apartheid regime. Naturally the game did not finish and the rest of the tour was cancelled.

It was things like this that stopped apartheid...ie the protests etc
It was sanctions. And appeasement of the Soviet Union and the CCP. And Henry Kissinger the communist sympathising stooge.
