Hi Chris, when filling up at the station, it will automatically shut off at 80%. These tanks are a brilliant way of saving yourself money and very convenient too. I hate the thought of running out of gas!
Hi you could have saved yourself £5 and just used soap and water to check for leaks. It will do the same job . P.S . I was a gas fitter for years. Good video 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Best video on this topic by a huge margin. Subscribed, thank you. Can I ask, the threads look blue at the end did you use some gas fitting tape? If so what connections require tape?
Thank you! No, I didn't use tape - I prefer not to unless absolutely necessary. I did thoroughly check all joints with a leak detecting fluid (don't use washing up liquid as it's slightly acidic) and took it in for a gas safety check soon after installation. It was a few years ago now and we have never had any problems with the installation, although finding gas is getting harder.
@@jonathansharp1861 thanks. Why do you think gas is getting harder to come by? It seems like van life and rv living is getting much more popular and mainstream.
Good video but the pipework must be solid pipe within your gas locker as rubber pipe can only be used for a mobile camping stove and then only 750mm max length, All permanent appliances must be solid piping too.
I'm about to fit a gaslow refillable system to my camper did you not secure the gas refill pipe to your vehicle at all anywhere to stop it moving slightly? I'm just worried that the gas pipe will move and wear on the holes cut through the metal floor potentially causing gas leaks.
Great information. I have a question. Can I use the regulator that is currently in my 2017 model motorhome that has the pipe connected to my calor gas bottles with thus system?
Hi Jonty. Great video, well explained and you showed all your thinking processes and little safety checks before drilling holes , etc. I sort of distrust the auto change-over features as I would want to know that one bottle was empty and if it means me getting up in the night and going out in the rain to change it over, I would do that. I don't want to find out when the second bottle is empty. Is there any warning that bottle number 1 is empty and it has switched to #2?
In the video when you installed the refill tanks you have the red pipe trapped against the wall and bottle this will rub and chaff and eventually leak .
Hi. Very interesting video. I have one question. Even if you turn one tap off on one of the gas bottle. will it go the back the other way to the other gas bottle as they are still linked in parallel. If so there is no point in having a automatic switchover regulator cause it wont work as both bottles will always be the same level when using the gas.
Just bought two 11kg bottles plus all relavent fittings ,pipes etc and they sent me the wrong filler ,the connection was for an eight mm copper pipe and should have been a screw fitting also there was no gas regulator or another fitting that allows you to use your old calor regular ,so not a happy bunny at mo . I did ask the salesman to send me everything I needed but hey ho ,got to hang about now till I get the other fittings !!!
Great video , I’m thinking of doing mine next year in big Bertha ...I’m just watching a few vids about LPG ... if you fancy subscribing to each other’s channel, that would be buzzing .. cheers Chris & Sam
Best video I’ve seen to help me figure what I need. Now to check my MoHo to see where the 70mm hole will go.
Thank you sir I now know exactly what to do
Great video. Refillable bottles are obviously the future!!
Well presented video. Ditto with the how do you know when at 80% as you don't want to run out & then fill.

Really useful video thankyou. We will be fitting ours in the next few weeks and this has been really helpful

Excellent video, just what I needed before fitting my system this weekend! Thank you for posting.

You should install a gas filter before the regulator.
Good info - is it possible to obtain a system to have 4 bottles in supply. Perhaps there is a manifold obtainable so all bottles can be connected

Hi , hope you don't mind me asking but how did it cost for the fittings and bottles . Also have you got a Web site to enquire ?
TIA
@@mohojonty3914 that's sounds great , thanks for the video and the quick reply
Great video. Refillable bottles are obviously the future!! .. Could I just ask what was the cost to fill the two 11kg bottles?
my father is refilling gas bottles for the last 30 years

no it uses gas from the selected bottle then when empty changes over but they are linked when filling
Hi, does the system filler automatically switch off at 80% I am concerned that I would overfill my bottles if I had to switch it off manually.
Hi Don, yes it automatically shuts off at 80%. The filler (at the station) locks onto the filler on your vehicle then shuts off when full.
