Well done all to the villagers who put out the distress call for help for the dog, to the chaps who hiked for hours to retrieve him, to the Vets who saved his life and to the restaurant owners who adopted him ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Nobody stole anyone’s dog! Let me clarify, Sandy was a stray dog living deep in the mountains of the Taroko National Park in Taiwan. He stepped on animal traps set by the aborigines who try to catch wild boars with snares. Hikers found him injured and on the verge of death. These kind hikers contacted Sean and Ross, well known animal rescuers in Taiwan. Sandy is very lucky to have been rescued by Sean and Ross, two truly amazing human beings. I adopted Sandy 5 years ago and he is doing well today. He’s a very healthy, loving, affectionate, and energetic pup. If you’d like to see some recent pictures of Sandy, let me know and I’d be happy to share.

I’m so glad you’re here to help. Here in Taiwan we have A LOT of stray dogs and no one wants to help them bc people only like the small and cute ones. If you go visit the country side, you’ll see tons of stray dogs and most of them are dogs like this one, here we call them mountain dogs. And some places even eat them. I’m trying my best to save them especially feed them whenever I can, but me being under 18, still in school, living with my strict family and have close to no money of my own, it’s really hard to find a place for them to stay. Especially when im not even allowed to go too far from home. If any of you want to come to Taiwan, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE donate to shelters and please feed a stray dog whenever you see one. And don’t forget to give them some love too. That’s all they ask for😔

Ava Lockwood ...don’t be sad. Do what you can. It is hard now but these things change fast when people start to care. Just the fact that you care shows that things are changing in your area. You may not meet the people in your life that care about the animals, but there are others that care around you near or far away somewhere. You can write papers in school about what you see and what you think should be done that brings attention to the situation. You can locate and visit shelters near you talk to them. You can contact world wide humane societies or animal rights groups. Tell them where the problem is without saying your real name as your parents may not want you to get involved. Just tell them what you see. Be the ears and eyes for them, they may know someone near or far away that will come in and help.
Oh my gosh! It's amazing what you do! Helping stray animals! You are a hero and you are inspirational! I wish you the best of luck! People like you give me hope for the dark future that is inevitable...

I just found a kitty while walking my dogs. It was covered in ants/fleas
I just spend 1hr trying to clean her. And feeding her.
Now im late for work.
But its worth it.
I know a lot of times it's hard to find time to help with problems of your own, so thank you for helping the kitty. Every little thing you do matters! I wish you and the kitty well.

But on a more serious note, Taiwan has a serious case of abandoned street dogs. I hope this will change in the future...
They need to have a spay and neuter program and have Vets to volunteer to spay and neuter the dogs for free to get control of the population problem that's so sad 😭
Every one can help! Think about how you can help animals in the country you stay. Do you donate? Did you think about adopting a suffering animal?
@@GabbyGabzer We do have spray and neuter programs, its just people are terrible and just dump dogs and not neuter them when they get the pet. For this dog's case it looks like a wild mix dog with both foot got chumped off by boar traps.
It sounds like Taiwan would be a dangerous place for me to visit. Every stray I would find would be the love of my life.

Sandy was so incredibly sweet to that awesome guy who saved him! He just snuggled right into him 🥰Sandy knew he was getting help. He is more well behaved than any dog I have ever seen!

Cheesy thought from watching so many dodo videos, but these things constantly amaze me with the power of human beings to go out of their way just to help an animal. They're not doing it for money or fame or anything. These dudes hiked up a mountain for hours just to go rescue this dog and then hiked all the way back down, took care of the dog, and made sure he got a new home. I'm so glad that people have the capacity and even the instinct to go out and do things that don't benefit THEM at all. They just do it to help another living creature and I think that's awesome.

@RenegadeTimes I’m not the biggest fan of guns myself, and have my own muddled opinions on that topic, but that aside, these men are heroes indeed.
ReZaHydra- I am not a fan of killing but I am totally on board with not becoming a victim. I am armed in my home. Hopefully I will never need to use it on an intruder but that is simply up to the man who decides to try.
I am not pro military as I know far more than the average human being about that. I am suspect of trusting cops at this juncture as having a close friend who it a retired cop said the standards for police has dropped dramatically and we who are paying attention have seen the rise in police abuse. Sexual harrasment included.
When they decided "No child left behind" they lowered the standard of achievment. How'd do you think that played out across the board.
