Following in the footsteps of Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Game of Thrones originally aired on HBO in 1995. It was cancelled. All that remains is the intro. Enjoy!

Best episode by far was the one where Ned fell off the horse and had amnesia until the whole cast gathered together and discussed the best moments in the show to restore his memories. Chokes me up everytime....

Man, that episode where Joffrey's identical (and much nicer) cousin Jeffrey comes to visit was comedy gold! Everyone kept mistaking them and would act shocked when Joff was nice one scene but then return to being a jerk the next.

I liked the one where Jon Snow thought everyone had forgotten his birthday so he was going to run away, but it turned out they were just planning a surprise party for him.
Lol, I remember that episode. Sam spends the whole episode making the perfect cake, and at the end he leaves it on a chair and Hodor sits on it. Then Cersei goes, "That's our Hodor!" and everyone laughs until the freeze frame credits.
When Jon realized his birthday was a surprise all along, Ygritte, his sweetheart, just laughed jovially and said, "Oh, you don't know anything, Jon Snow!" And his birthday guests laugh in unison.
My favorite part is when Joffrey demands something cartoonishly evil and his inept kingsguard always fail in carrying out the order while the sad trombone plays.
Ah, yes, and Joffrey would throw his trademark tantrums.
Joffrey: "Why am I surrounded by such neandering nincompoops???"
Then he'd throw his crown at him.

Every episode the Night King tries to take over Winterfell(Not all of Westeros, just Winterfell) but he's defeated every time single-handedly by Ned Stark and always screams "I'll get you next time mwuahahaha!"

I loved that one episode where they took Tywin's corpse and dressed him up with sunglasses so they could pretend he was still alive and sign legal papers.

The creator tried to find a shot of Kit Harrington laughing for the opening, but there were none.

My favorite moment was when Brienne felt insecure about going to the ball because she didn’t feel pretty so Sansa, Catelyn and Margaery decided to help her and they did that whole montage of them giving Brienne a makeover and teaching her dancing and ladylike manners, and then when she showed up at the ball Jaime was so impressed and they danced together, great episode.

Max w corvus4eomer For one thing no I don't like Queen. Everyone has their own taste.(and no I don't like boybands, pop, hiphop, rap, or dubstep either in case you were going to make some ignorant remark like that)
But by terrible I mean that not only do I not like it much (I don't hate it or anything as "terrible" would imply), but rather that *it doesn't suit the intro for the show*. While the song itself came out just barely before 1990, in my opinion it's style is even more pre-1990 than that (despite the fact it may have been popular in 1995), considering the group was mostly active in the 70s and 80s, which also makes it not suitable for somethign titled "1995 style".
Anyway that's my rant.
Well i wasn't referring to the second part of your first post, but the part "terrible music". If you are not into that, there are some other majot genres i may guess you like. For example rock, metal (like myself), classic music and so on. I'mm guessing you are into new rock, but still i haven't met any rockers who don't like Queen. okay but there's still no context for him shoving Bran out the window. the real spoiler is Bran seeing Jaime and Cersei doing an incest, that's not at all in this intro. alternatively the intro wouldn't be shown in the first episode since it's the pilot (not actually sure how common this was in the 90's though...)

My favorite episode was the Special Episode where they said they still loved Renly even though he was gay...pretty powerful stuff for that era.
John Galvano That was in response to what was happening behind the scenes. Robb Stark was written off the show. In the story he wed the Princess Westerling of the Red Dimension and moved with her there. But in real life there were scandals where his actor was arrested for DUIs and bullied Drogo’s actor over his homosexuality.

I loved the season eight Christmas special where the Night King came to Winterfell to ruin Christmas, but then Arya gave him the action figure he wanted as a kid but didn't get for being naughty. He discovered the meaning of giving that night and gave everyone presents and the episode ended with them all singing "O Tannenbaum" under the gods wood tree.
Yeah! I remember that episode. My favourite part was when they were singing O Tannenbaum, even the cast and crew joined in on the song. It was really heartwarming, it’s such a shame they cancelled the show.

Like all great 90´s shows this one also had a native american character, namely Chief Coyote, who assistedJon Snow with his wisdom and told old tales of his people. Not to mention he was pretty bad ass with his Tomahawk, throwing it at his foes and knocking them unconscious.

My favorite episode was the Mother's Day Special where Tyrion and Cersei worked out their differences and realized that family was truly the most important thing in life

In this version there are no deaths and there’s a different bad guy in each Episode.
My favorite was when Bran finds a magic lamp, and out pops Rodney Dangerfield as a genie who's not what he seems.
There’s a handful of rotating bad guys, but they’re always mostly harmless and easily defeated.
Like how the Night King gets sunburn easily and wants to make it winter all year round, but is always foiled by the Stark kids and has to run back to his home beyond the Wall promising revenge one day.
Or how the Lannister twins are a medieval Team Rocket that are always defeated non-fatally but embarrassed in some way.

Oh, that one episode where Robb tried to take both Talisa Maegyr and Roslin Tully to the spring dance was such an iconic moment in tv history.
Not iconic, simply done better than every other sitcom. I think both ladies were flattered that the other was their competition, they earned a good deal of respect from each other, especially because they handled the aftermath so well.

You remember the running gag of every episode? Daenerys trying to get somehow to Westeros just to conquer all of it. And when she finally reached it during the last episode she realized it was all about the journey and she lived happily ever after without becoming queen or fighting anyone.
If I didn't know what game of thrones was, I would've believed it was a show from the 90s after looking at this.

If game of thrones was made in the 90's Ned Stark would still be alive and would be the one to kill Ramsay Bolton and Bran would recover his fall
He wouldn't kill Ramsay, however he would beat him in a sword duel and then have a monologue teaching Ramsay about humility and the errors of his ways. After that Ramsay would convert to being one of the good guys we see once a season.

omg i can totally imagine this, there.would be no blood or gore, best youll get is a couple of swords swinging and clanging, every death would be off screen and you'll have a single sentence saying "THE KING IS DEAD" everyone will gasp. On UK TV in the 80's there was bloodless 'A-Team'-like violence before the 9pm watershed. Think 'Classic Battlestar Galactica' - people getting shot by laser special effects and falling to the ground. The 90's wasn't much different: Xena Warrior Princess and Stargate SG-1. As for sex, you must be joking!
My favorite moments and memories of this show:
- dragons talking and providing Daenerys with ancient Valyria wisdom
- when the writers realised Rickon Stark didn't have much space, so they wrote an entire episode for him - and then cancelled the character entirely
- Sansa and Arya fighting so much that Ned sent Sansa to King's Landing, where she learnt a lesson about family and wolfpack
- when they introduced the Craster baby after the viewer counts dropped
- Tyrion finally stepping up and showing what he's worth to all those arseholes who laughed at him for being a clever dwarf
- when we found out in S06E01 that Jaime abruptly decided to travel to Asshai, only to have a cameo in the last season
- Podrick being a funny sidekick to Brienne
- when an impostor locked up Tywin in a tower and pretended he was him for an entire season
- when Cersei lost her memory and wanted to marry Loras
Fun fact: This show was originally going to end with Danaerys burning King's Landing to the ground!! But during the storyboarding process the writer's room received the news about 9/11 and decided to take it out for sensitivity.

The Night King was an awesome fighter using snowballs and ice skating.
Cercei and Jamie were very much like pokemon's team rocket and incest was as hardcore as an accidental hand touching.
Pod was like the goofy guy in xena who wore the weird leather helmet.
Ramsey was very mean, he imprisoned Theon and gave him a silly haircut.
The dragons were born in the episode when Khal Drogo accidentally burned his tent while trying to cook something for Danny.
I still remember season's 10 Christmas special when santa-claus had an accident and by the end; the white walkers, the free people, the night's watch and people from the seven kingdoms gathered and had Christmas Dinner.

there was this Christmas special episode called "How the Freys stole Christmas". It was heartwarming when little Arya Stark baked a pie and offered uncle Walder Frey a piece of it even though he was all grumpy and not nice to anybody 🥲

remember his nut allergy episode? when uncle Jamie ran to him with his EpiPen but stumbled over someone and ended up injecting himself with it.. poor uncle Tyrion.. everyone ended up blaming him for all the snafu, when it was aunt Olenna who mixed up the nuts

I still have a VHS containing some of my favorite episodes. Including that one where Sansa loses a bet with Jon Snow, and so she has to go on a date with that weird kid Ramsay Bolton. After spending time with him she comes to realize that Ramsay isn’t the creep the other kids make him out to be, just lonely and misunderstood. Eventually Ramsay discovers that Sansa only started paying attention with him because she lost a bet, not because she actually liked him, and so he angrily demands that she never speak to him again. But what he didn’t realize was that Sansa had actually grown to care about him! Luckily by the end of the episode, Sansa is able to make things right and their friendship is restored. Truly a tearjerker of an episode.
remember when Sansa pretended to adopt Ramsay's pet dog and it ended up listening to her rather than him 🤣

Apparently there's an unreleased episode you can get on bootleg VHS at some conventions that was supposed to be the real conclusion to the series. Daenerys drinks a magic potion and becomes evil for no good reason and just goes around burning everything with her dragon. It's a good thing they never released that episode to the public, I mean what a ridiculous concept.

Nah, but there was that huge crossover with Hercules and Xena during sweeps. You could really tell the episodes Rami directed. And the Varys/Autolycus scenes were hilarious.

Does anyone remember that crossover episode Game of Thrones had with that other HBO lighthearted 90s Sword and Sorcery series. That one was so much fun.
Or that holiday special when the characters all reminisced about past events, making a montage from previous episodes' scenes. I have a fond memory of that.
Or any of the times when King Joffrey made mischievous plots that, of course, were always foiled comically by the good guys, who got away scott free. Those were so cheesy, but fun.
Or that one episode where they were fighting the Whitewalkers at Winterfell, kept making absurdly silly decisions, like Tyrion's wacky idea to move everyone to the Crypts even though it was well known that the Whitewalkers could raise the dead, leading to comedic mayhem. Then Jon Snow fought against the Night King, lost and was about to be killed, then Arya appears in the nick of time and kills the Night King, saving the day and Jon Snow in a cheesy plot twist. And almost all the characters survive despite the overwhelming odds and ... WAIT! OH SHIT! THAT REALLY DID HAPPEN. NO!!!

I remember the crossover episodes with xena and Hercules. Fun times. I remember one where Xena and Gabrielle had to escort Tyrion to his Trial at the Vale. Xena looked like she was about to kill him whenever he ran his mouth. Or the one Hercules went to the Wall and fought the wights.
Oh, I remember in the latest seasons in the early 2000s, when Shrek 2 just came out and it was so popular that there was a themed episode of Game of Thrones with Jaime as Prince Charming and Robert Baratheon as Shrek..it was amazing even though those were the last seasons...

All too easy we forget how the early ninetees felt, looked and basically, were no different then the late eighties. Remember Bev Hills 90210, New Kids On The Block et cetera. I think it took a wave of Seattle grunge bands to get rid of the remnants of the 80's.
I cried during the series finale in 2000 when the Starks and the Lannisters finally settled their dispute and Geoffrey and Sansa married in the end :,) One of the most fullfilling happy endings of TV history.
Oh, yes! I wasn't sure their relationship would last due to his immature ways, but he certainly came around!
During big battle scenes they only have the same 12 people in them and only least one scene.
