  • A feature video of my September 2016 trip to Echoing Lake Camp in far northwestern Ontario. Located 500 kilometers north of Sioux Lookout near the Manitoba border, Echoing is easily the furthest north operating camp within the province.
    Its waters have rarely been fished, and the surrounding lakes accessible by camp float plane are still unknown. They have yet to be fished by anyone!
    We had astounding fishing for incredible numbers of lake trout, trophy northern pike, and as many walleyes as we wanted.
    Future guests will experience the trip of a lifetime with the opportunity to explore lakes that that are truly virgin.

      Thanks Ben! Those lakers weren't super huge, but wow, just crazy numbers! You have something to look forward to then if you've never tried it before. Cheers

    This feater video displays a true image of Echoing Lake Camp. The Oji-Cree guides are kind, sensitive, caring, full of humour and highly knowledgeable. The lake trout, chain pickerel and pike are literally waiting for lures. This fly-in camp is among the best-run fishing camps in Ontario. I rate this camp 5 stars out of 5.

      Hi Vince, clearly you are familiar with this camp. Yes, it's a very, very special place. Cheers

      Obviously not. :) Ontarian's call walleye pickerel I'm sure that's what he meant.

    • @CanadaFishingGuide
      @CanadaFishingGuide  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Me too. Most locals in northern ON still call them pickerel though. Also older people, so it's probably a generational thing. Prior to (roughly) 1985 Walleye were called Yellow Pickerel, then they changed the name to Walleye.

      @Barry Beatty yah its funny to see/watch my dad say lets go out catch some pickerel and then when on the water he'll scream wow thats a nice walleye, my uncle will chirp in, much older btw, and say thats a pickerel my dad just says yah same thing all confused like. and im just there as a young kid like 0.o but you called it a pickerel on the way up!?!?? uncle, stubborn says they are diff, pops says theyre the same thing ahaha 😂🤦‍♂️
      I'm in Toronto, we'd go fishing down in Watertown, New York off Chaumont Bay just south of the Can/USA border.

    Great scenery and fishing. Hey if it's not too difficult can we get some more footage of the fish fighting close to the boat, in the net and being held up or measured. Thank you, keep up the great fishing I'm jealous stuck here in Chicago.

      Where will you enter? If you are North West, Donnelly's. #1 in my opinion.. Echoing Lake camp is tied with Donnellys.. you won't go wrong.. Bring fresh line.

    where is this lodge located ?

    • @CanadaFishingGuide
      @CanadaFishingGuide  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Far northwestern corner of Ontario, right near the border of Manitoba. Easily the furthest north operating lodge in the province. If you're curious you can see a super detailed online story of the entire trip here www.canadafishingguide.net/fishing-ontarios-last-frontier-2/

    So, how does that spot not get any pressure with a cabin, boats and a plane. Your fishing describes most any remote lake in northern Ontario. Find a lake that doesn't have a camp, fly in a canoe and camp yourself. Even on well fished, road accessable areas the land is so vast that trophy sized fish can be found there as well.

    How mutch would it cost to go there (with you)

    • @CanadaFishingGuide
      @CanadaFishingGuide  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      With me? Probably more than you'd be willing to pay LOL! Truthful answer is my travel is booked so far in advance it's difficult for me to plan anything, especially when it's a venue I've already visited. Amazing place though, so remote and untouched!

    2500 for group 8+? Is that for the group or per person ?

    • @CanadaFishingGuide
      @CanadaFishingGuide  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a per person rate. Great deal considering how remote this camp is.

      Late reply, been off the grid for a month Brian. It is kind of pricey, but it's also incredibly remote and a very long float plane ride to get there. Amazing destination, would love to return!

    does camo help you fish?

    • @CanadaFishingGuide
      @CanadaFishingGuide  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely, it makes you invisible in the boat! LOL!

    • @chrisbrock7002
      @chrisbrock7002 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it doesn't, the guy in camo hunts and fishes, he has some good quality hunting clothing so he wears it fishing in Northern Ontario in September, it's not a fashion show

    • @VinceDumond
      @VinceDumond 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. The guide will help you put your lure on your line, help you drop the lure into the water, help you reel in your fish and help you take the hook and lure out of the mouth of the fish. Excellent guides.

    Fly in, established camp, motor boat... truly a frontier 🙄

    • @CanadaFishingGuide
      @CanadaFishingGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Clearly a sarcastic comment, but off base. Echoing is the furthest north operating camp of any kind in the province and most of the waters surrounding it which are slowly being opened to guests have never been fished - they're completely virgin.
