Can I just say I really appreciate everyone who has come up to me in person to say they enjoyed this track guide, I'm really grateful I was able to make a small impact on my local motorsports community, and I'm glad people are finding these useful - Pat
Good video, the only thing is, I would disagree with 3:11, getting back over to the left for 9. You're trading distance for negligible gain in apex speed.
All car dependent - some cars that under steer more will benefit from the wider line, cars that rotate better don't need to go out that wide - I take different lines when driving my street car vs our endurance racecar, both are gen 1 86's
Jesus Christ, it's Jason Hoang! For our viewers, Jason was critical in highlighting to me the importance of smoothness in T1, the early throttle commitment in T4/5, my line in 8, and my steering techniques overall. He is incredibly fast here at TMP, please check out his record-holding laps on his channel! - Pat
@@bsquaredmotorsports very impressive. I bought my GTI new in 2015 over the frs/86 primarily because of the power and ease of tuning being turbocharged… I’m tuned and only hit a 1:25 at TMP las tweet 🤦♂️… the GTI definitely isn’t as balanced at the 86
Thankyou very much for this video. I do tmp on the monthly. I haven’t been able to break 1:24. I have all my videos posted here. Late apex. I will give it a try! Thankyou again.
You should be able to get in passenger seat with a driver, ask around, most are quite friendly, and it's not like anyone is going to be setting a personal best tomorrow anyways, so the passenger weight shouldn't matter too much. Stoked for you, dress warm and enjoy!
Duuuuude this is a great video! Thanks so much, so many good pointers in here. It's been 4 years since I've had my car out. This Saturday is the first shakedown, can't wait.
For us, continuous improvement is the most fun part of motorsports. You can't set goals, and get better until you identify first what needs to be addressed, which is why we're so keen on data - numbers don't lie, so once one learns how to make sense of the numbers, you can then attack the learning process with confidence. We hope to see you out there! Feel free to come say hi if we meet at the track, I'll be in a BRZ, possibly with our BSquared logo on the body - Pat
just updated the curbing and re-paved some sections. lap times seem to be similar, based on Ontario Time Attack 2020 times vs the first event of 2021 times on the same drivers wheeling the same platforms
Helmets arent mandatory for TMP open lapping sessions, but any well-organised lapping organisation that rents the track will have you wearing one. It's best to wear one anyway, since you can't be too safe. Looks cooler anyway.
Just ask yourself the question, how much is my head worth. TMPs thoughts are that helmets tend to restrict your awareness of other cars about you. Just get a helmet and learn to be aware, you will be far safer.
Hey bud. Great video btw. As a reference, how highly modified is your car? Not looking for a complete list of mods, but is it stock, mild mods or full track prep? Keep em coming

Doing some laps in a McLaren next weekend - time to study.
Should be great fun! Glad we can help your McLaren experience be that much more fulfilling
Great analysis of TMP.
Thank you Andrew! Look forward to Calabogie and Grand Bend as well!

Hey that's Jason Hoang
Great references 👌
No problem, if you have any questions about how to pick ones for your car, feel free to msg us
Good pointers here, and nice lap time for that car
Thank you! The community of 86 drivers has since been demolishing this laptime with 1.20 (and 2 drivers hitting 1.19) becoming more common

Awesome! Is your BRZ stock? Any mods?
In this video, just an alignment, lowering springs, 245 45 17 Hankook RS4, and Hawk HP+ brake pads
Well, it's no nürburgring or spa but it is better no track in Ontario
"Dont be out for 20 laps" ... Yeeee Pat I deff didnt do that on the weekend hehe
This is great man. Really appreciate that you use your errors positively. Can't wait for this season!

@@bsquaredmotorsportsCompletely agree and you just might see me out there. I'll be in an Evo X or Sti...whatever the coin flips :)
Have they changed anything on the track since this video?

Really solid tips here. I will be heading to TMP in a couple weeks and this is my study guide, thank you
I hope you found the tips to help!
Hey great video. BTW - I did actually see a red Camaro going off on T1 and climbing the wall lol be careful there :)
it do be like this :( T1 is RUTHLESS
Hi, thank you for the awesome video. I was wondering if the helmets are mandatory for lapping ? Its my first track day ever so I’m clueless.

1.23 is really quick for a almost stock brz!
with more time left on the table, just gotta put in some more work - Thanks for checking out our video!
Do they allow SUVs? (That's all I got haha)
yes they do!
Great guide! What do you use to gather throttle/brake and speed data?
the OBDLink MX bluetooth logger, paired with the TrackAddict App!
Hey bud. Great video btw. As a reference, how highly modified is your car? Not looking for a complete list of mods, but is it stock, mild mods or full track prep?
Keep em coming
brake pads, fluid, wheels, tires, lowering springs, track alignment, and an oil pan baffle - thats all
