Sorry if my post on the greymon video sounded like I was being negative. I liked the video and was really inspired by your concept and I tried to work out how I would have implemented it instead. But I've learned text tends to make almost every comment come across more jerkish.
My only problem with calling KendoGarurumon a "Dubism" is the fact that "BladeGarurumon" and "SaberGarurumon" where early draft names and "BladeGarurumon" was his name in Digimon World 3.
I actually really like Pukumon. Especially since he is canonically British and fights with fisticuffs. A friend of mine who loves the Mamemon line called it SeaMamemon and that nickname has stuck for me.
I know it would be ridiculously expensive, especially with seven-fourteen new digivolutions for all eight Chosen Digimon, but it would be so cool to see what original designs the ultimates and megas could look like using these Crest Swap concept.
Before watching just curious how many of my own ideas line up with your own Courage- Soloogamon/Fenrirloogamon Love- Caturamon/Anubismon Knowledge- Jaegardorulumon/Cres Garurumon Sincerity- MachGaogamon/Mercurimon Reliability- Divemon/Surfimon (What are sharks but the wolves of the sea) Hope- Weregarurumon Sagittarius mode/ZeedGarurumon Light- KendoGarurumon/MagnaGarurumon
11:22 Another perfect example is Vikemon, who originally was the Jogress between Joe's Zudomon and Tk's and Cody's Shakkoumon, but later became Shakkoumon's mega, AND later after that became Gomamon's mega.
The game that introduced Vikemon also used joggress for EVERYTHING beyond champion. To get higher stages you needed to do joggress. In that game Vikemon was more "use Shakkoumon as a stepping stone for Zudomon to reach Mega" than a proper Shakkoumon mega. They just used him as the standard mega despite not making any visual sense because they never bothered to design a proper one.
I admit I like when you're tasked with having to think outside the box for some evolutions. With so many digimon out there and the amount of weird evolutions that exist with no logic, it's interesting to see the choices available when you set certain conditions.
The frontier dubisms really felt like they were made for people trying to connect older Digimon to them so I say use them all you like even if it wasn't their original intent for the digimon
The Loogarmon line for Courage and Mercurymon for Sincerity are actually pretty good fits! PS: You are right btw, the Garurumon-Greymon evolution lines ratio is obscene. Gabumon deserves better.
I've always been a big supporter of Mercurymon/Merukimon being treated as a Gabumon Mega. Just recolor the fur and bam, its a Garurumon. Also seeing Erlangmon (which great choice btw), it just reminds me that Digimon has been killing it with all these new Digimon. I don't think I've seen a single one I've outright disliked.
The Hope and Light Lines are just amazing. And I do like how there is a Spirit involved. As it's always great to see stuff from Frontier show up. Anyway, I'm once again requesting a video where you give Kamen Riders Digimon Partners. With it most likely being multiple videos where each is dedicated to a different season. Of course, the Showa Era Riders would be one video due to how straight forward it would be thanks to how majority of them are bug themed. As Amazon is themed after a Lizard. But in any case, I do know that Kuuga would get Agumon. Namely due to how the Revival season of Rider is Iconic for many Japanese Kids who grew up in the early 2000s.
Jaggamon is so great of a choice for Ultimate, it almpst feels like the Digitamamon style of "get into an egg then come out as a badass" evolution. Love that choice of line!
Never ceases to amaze how you nail the choices. If you don't pick an obvious literal pick, you always stuff with the right vibes (tiger striped dog into a tiger with wings for love? Inspired)
Super fun video! I really love your logic lines, the only one I had reservation on was the courage line but you sold me on it when you explained the blue fire being extinguished in its og line, into ice, being kept up with the courage line! Love it
Fenrirloogamon's fire jets also look similar to Sagittarius mode's Mihiramon also works well because it keeps the stripped and spikes It also works with the Vespamon choices
I really like your og line for sincerity garururmon line. Weirdly enough i see Panjyamon and Ancient Megatheriumon being a Angemon or Gatomon sincerity variant.
I love this idea and can't wait to see the other adventure 01 partners get lines for each crest. I also love the idea of a video showing dark digivolution lines for all the adventure 01 partners.
I understand the reason we are starting from Champion, but I think it is incredible that since episode 2 the digimon have been evolving when their partners use their crests. Taichi helping Agumon fighting Shellmon, Yamato swimming to protect his friends from Seadramon, Sora helping the Pyokomon, Jo proving the group could count on him etc. I just think it is a nice fact do mention every now and then.
We need more weird evo lines imo. Like I love that we're getting more consistent lines but Digimon digivolve with data it carries as well as it's surrounding area. Like, WILDLY pivot. And turn bipeds into quadrapeds more
I love the Loogamons for Courage because the etymology of their names references Sol, the goddess of the sun, and Fenrir, a massive wolf in Norse mythology, and Garurumon is named after the Japanese onomatopoeia for the sound of a wolf's growl. Not to mention all being part of the Nightmare Soldiers field/family.
Let's goooo!!!! Another awesome episode! Duftmon or Leopardmon also can Digivolve from weregarurumon (and Mercurymon digivolved from weregarurumon black) lol (Some stretches are fun lol, also loved the nod to 2020 for the hope crest lol) And Erlangmon and Mercurymon, familiar faces I liked! I like Seraphimon and Goldramon. With Ophanimon and Magnadramon. Another tidbit, Goldramon fits as Kudamon 2006's mega, because of the slithery body feel. And I like Kudamon 2006. With Reppamon and Angemon routes for it. Plus Kudamon and Goldramon have many visual similarities
a line I always liked (and what I hope for a partner if I ever get pulled to the digital world fingers crossed lmao) is labramon - siesamon - caturamon - erlangmon. maintains a holy vibe through the whole line, as well as ouppy
I also love that with the light and hope crest digivolutions we still end up with an Omegamon fusion. Also for Garurumon light I kinda like the Beowulfmon with Erlangmon as an ultimate evolution perhaps using all of the crests at once. Could be an interesting idea that each has a level 7 stage which combines all 8 crests. Could see Greymon going into something ling Fenglongmon for his,
Just recently subscribed and your knowledge is unreal. I saw your video about the adventure 02 mon getting a full digivilution line up and I saw your dig mon mega. I saw a video a few years ago of 30 legit strongest digimon without story bias. It had one that looked like a giant ankylomon it's back is made out yhe strongest element in the digiworld. It's from the shoutmon series I believe
i think my favorites of these are (in order): courage, light, hope. they just work so well. murikmon is a great choice also. the rest you did what you could
6:43 pukumon, though not one of my top 5 favorites, has a place in my heart as I often had my digimon digivoles to Pukumon in Digimon Championship on the DS... Cuz I had no idea what I was doing. It was always a useful digimon whenever it got randomly chucked at me... One could say it was always a Reliable team member 😅
I think it would be cool for the hypothetical love line to have duftmon be the final form like you said because I could so clearly see it reaching that form but evolving straight into leopard mode keeping the quadrupedal traits and not having control of itself at first and then finally mastering it and being able to mode change into the humanoid form kind of like what imperialdramon does

However for reliability I would have (personally thinking) used Marine Chimeramon as the ultimate and Regalecusmon as the mega because they both are beastly creatures of the sea. One might think that they may look too vicious but I think they are rather fitting.

The only line I didn't love was the first Reliability option, but I quite liked the second one. My favorites were Courage, Hope and Light. I could see the choices for Courage coming up (they're exactly what I expected), but connecting Hope to the mode change and CresGarurumon and Light to the beast spirit of light were strokes of genius. And the final Light one was one I didn't know or remember existed, but it matches the line and the angel stuff perfectly. I hope we get to see the other champions' lines.
I think with knowledge we focus on the dig and earth elements and go LoaderLiomon and then HeavyLeomon. That feels very knowledge influencing the beast.
An additional note sorta-kinda in favour of TigerVespamon (the connection is ridiculously tenuous, but it's the sort of thing that makes me laugh, so there you go...) is that the Monster Rancher monster Tiger is, for reasons I may never understand, a blue-gray _wolf_ (with horns, for... reasons). Like I said, largely irrelevant, but it's a funny coincidence that amuses me...
For the Reliability line, I thought you chose Hangyomon to set up Regalecusmon as the mega, with the white body and blue body and dark blue stripes matching soooo well with Garurumon's fur and him wielding Zudomon's horn to tie in with Gomamon's line
As Duftmon is “the strategist of the Royal Knoghts”, I would have more associated them with Knowledge than Love, but I get why you’d want to keep Knowledge more Bug/Electric themed

KendoGarurumon into Erlangmon works pretty much perfectly for a Light evo line. Keeps the aspects of the crest of Light and has good visual cohesion.

I really love The off the wall evos. I like when they look more like a collection than decedents. pukumon makes such sense for that line. I love it!
I also think Gaomon in a pukumon line works in this way too. The punching red accents, black spikes, and with the blue bodies makes sense to me.

Cernumon could be a good mega for the Purity/ Sincerity line as its a beast type digimon linked with nature.
