If you enjoy this kind of stylized stuff, I think you'll like my full deeper dive walkthrough tutorial www.beneblen.com/tutorial It includes... a 🎥8+ hour real-time walkthrough, 📚 40+ page Field guide, 🗿3D models to study from, 📁PSD files & a Procreate tutorial to reference from
Peeked at the deeper dive, surprisingly affordable depending on selected course or materials. Definitely worth it. Question: If not using Photoshop, are the PSD files in a version that some other apps can import? Meanwhile I will look at my Procreate, Affinity apps, Sketchbook (formerly from autodesk), Nomadsculpt, blennder. Can't do photoshop right now.
I absolutely love the texture and "volume" of your work, there is something low poly, clayish and spider-verse ish to be seen, whkch creates a very original and colorful image. Defintely earned yourself a sub!
I love how you approach your videos and sharing information. As a student artist sharing his findings with other student artists. Rather than as a elite teacher explaining everything to confused students. I feel on your level for the video, even if your much further along in your artistic skills/journey. Thanks for your top notch videos Ben!
I'm always super inspired by your videos. I learn so much from your creative process. Keep the videos coming - they are incredibly valuable and deserve much more views
I love that you condense your streams down to these more bite size videos! Love your stuff but seldom have a couple of hours to follow along, so thank you for taking the time to make such high quality videos too! Also great process and what a character and hero painting it ended up being!
Found your channel when i was trying to improve my linework and im absolutaly impressed! Great humor, calming voice and brilliant editing. Exited for any content you will Post :) have a nice day
This is probably the most detailed and well explained thought process in video form of designing a character but really thinking deeply of fundemental understanding of a 3D object. Well done at combining the thinking of 3D artist skills while applying it to painting skills and character designing skills.
I can tell how much work and effort goes into your videos and it looks great. I know you typically do streams but I hope to see more stuff like this about your process in the future. Looks awesome, Ben ❤
OMG, every second of your lessons is art! You are an outstanding draftsman, there is no doubt. Moreover, the storytelling and editing are some of the best I've seen on arttube. Next level stuff. Can't even imagine how much time and effort something like this could take. You're amazing!
Lol thank you so much for your videos man! I’ve just started getting back into art and your content is the perfect blend of immensely helpful and entertaining ❤
Such a god video. it makes me angry to see how come you don't have 1 million subscribers. I love you art and thank you for sharing your knowledge. Much appreciated
Watching your process & exploring making the character was really cool & helpful to watch. Great job from chat & other artists to help with what you were struggling with. Great video ✨
This was absolutely stunning! I'm a concept art student from the UK, and really appriciate the deep dive into your thought process throughout your design and final rendering process. Subscribing to you now :)
Fantastic video and something I can certainly relate with. It's insane how good the quality of your videos are, despite starting to upload quite recently.
I am considering purchasing the tutorial, but I was wondering, are you ever planning on showing how you sculpt your basic shapes in zbrush? I would love to see how you take 2D reference and then create a 3D blockout for your own purposes.
Hi Ben I'm been learning to draw lately I heard u say that learning 3d particularly sculpting helped u alot so could u recommend me a course or person to learn digital sculpting btw I love u r work
Hi, great content :) A question about your tutorial: do you explain everything step by step in the 8 hours video? Or I have to read the 40 pages tutorial to understand everything you teaching in your tutorial? With visual studies like art I struggle to study from a text book. Another question: do you explain in your tutorial “just” how to improve and master brush work or you explain art fundamentals too?
design binge. pause. new eyes : meh! or naw! poke until. pause again. keep molding, tweaking, reinvent, stay generic reference, then reiterate until untiL rendering consult untIL untIL..start from scratch, aargh ....UNTIL the character shouts ALMOST THERE, keep going. Note: This works because he took breaks, let fresh eyes recall goal, consulted and collected references, willingly started from scratch. That restart was not totally from scratch. All through this journey before was stored in "moments to recall". He could then replay scenes from his mind's film, the other guidance now maybe triggered by gut reaction to the good, the bad, and stuff brewing in the back of his brain: // Less guessing, more recognizing where to steer towards.
so tired of artists validating the use of AI for writing and drawing... I don't care that it is just a 3 word prompt, ChatGPT is build in stolen text. There isn't more to it EDIT: I won't check any comments (I deactivated notifications). But I wanted to ask you to read my comment using your reading comprehension skills to stop talking about stuff that I didn't say. I've seen a lot of people claiming stuff that I didn't say in my original comment with just three simple phrases. Also, using AI text generation is wrong. If you use ChatGPT you're increasing it's use and user base, which gives credit to it's developers to continue making money through STOLEN TEXT. And don't use the TH-cam comment section to inform yourselves. Just check what writers and script writers are saying about the use of AI text generators and ChatGPT.
I’m against AI but I feel like dismissing the rest of his creative process that’s fully his own bc he used ChatGPT for a three word prompt just feels like an overcorrection. Edit: I was meaning to reply to the person above me, somehow I didn’t see it didn’t. Obviously I’m not accusing OP of something they didn’t say, even though I still don’t agree with them in this case. Anyways, use your head and make your own conclusions about AI and its uses.
@@BeeseChurgar yes, but you can use one of those randomizers, like you said. Or a dictionary for all I care. It doesn't make you less of an artist to choose random words to inspire you, that's super correct we've all done it, but showing chatGPT, using it, not commenting anything... It feels like validating the use of AI text generators and I don't like it. I don't think that artists should support this kind of software in any way or form. And I don't think that artists should shut up when some other artists uses it.
@@ariadnaltos We shouldn't support AI art, but Generating words? I don't think so. How would "Slice, WD-40 and Soup" give me the advantage? It's just like using a mannequin or reference as a guide-no matter how good your reference is, It's your skill on drawing only that matters.

So insanely excited for more short format videos! Love your content and looking forward to more
I appreciate you pointing out the anatomical mistakes you made. It’s easy to forget that people who are farther in their art journey make mistakes too

Even before ChatGPT, a random prompt generator was always a thing and it doesn't make you less of an artist cuz you still come up with the design.
