@Wilmer Waarbroek hmm, maybe? I've never seen or had a behringer pedal break. i have around 35 of them been using them since 14 years old. If i was rich and famous id probably use Boss though, you're correct. because they just look better. fun fact. Wilco, Mars Volta and other world famous acts HAVE toured with Plastic Behringer Pedals
Still got my original DM-2 from 1982 and I have to agree with everything you've said: an awesome pedal I wouldn't trade for the world. Analogue for me every time 🙂
I have the rack unit from the same time frame. Killer! Even has a longer delay capability. Foot switchable as well. Roland/Boss has always been amazing. So much Roland and boss stuff in my collection. I’ve even got a very rare CA40 guitar amp from way way back, which might have been the first solid state guitar amp that sounded great. Yuuuuuup! Why you ask, does it sound so great? Because long before others figured it out, they put FET transistors in their preamp circuits, which makes it overdrive more like a tube amp… and therefor sound awesome. True story of the past and present masters of sound. Roland/Boss! Let’s Rock!!!
I study under the reverb guru on mount Yackity Smackity, personally. Which is just across the river hiss, from mount Compression, where they keep it level at all times, Baby. Now you may say, “Don’t call me Baby”, to which I would say… The most important effect is the believability of a great performance. Cheers
Original DM-2 with MN3005 is the King. These are getting super rare now. In some cases but a hair, but it’s the King. “Apex of cool….” The new DM2W is great and there are other delays too which are great, but this is where the true magic is at, especially on a record and any signal.
Maxon AD-999 looks pretty cool too , I have an old analog delay that plugs into mains , that's cool & start using it again . Best tuner for 432 Hz ? Gotti use time delay & pick one up in 1082 . Peace . Thanks for delay appreciation .
I agree, the Waza Craft series is a great re-issue of some aging analog Boss pedals. But ironically, the analog BBD technology is closer to digital than one might think. It chops the incoming sound into slices (samples) that are transferred from one transistor/capacitor to the next, hence the "bucket brigade" name. The slight degradation in sound comes from the fact that the "samples" aren't stored digitally in memory, but rather in analog form in capacitors. Also, high-frequency audio content has to be heavily filtered not to cause aliasing, much the same way as early digital limited frequency samplers did.
Good stuff. Would’ve liked it if you would have shown some samples of guitar or keys running through it, though. Just for those who don’t know the sound. I remember getting one of these back in the 70s.
great videos! when you run a track out of daw or the 388 to a pedal like this, do you use something to change it from a line to instrument signal first?
Nice Space Echo! Is is 101 or 150? Ive had a few different ones and liked the 150 best because it has a secret function the others don't that is really useful for digital/analog hybrid setups. Im glad to see you are getting more stuff! My favorite Boss pedal is the original VB2, though im sure the new ones are just as good.
@@fuzzcityrecords432 Ah, well, more like a "feature" than a secret but, the 150 is the only one of the 101/150/201 that has a direct out and dedicated effected out. So, if you have a digital thing or whatever, put it through the 150, taking only the wet output and setting it to a single repeat. So basically filtering it down. How long you set the repeat then, will be your control over how "lo fi" the effect is. The same thing works with analog delays, as long as it can be set to 100 percent wet, or has a dedicated wet signal output, like the 150. So, as I said, more of a technique than a secret but the word "secret" rules.
Love you matt lmaoo, fucking crying of laughter. im also stoned tho. but yeah i love your choice, tho my favourite all around delay for everything is the old Boss RE-20 Space Echo, i believe it also uses BBD, but i could be wrong. it sounds soo tasty
The phone call to guitar center on dealy 🤣 loved this episode!
The Waza Craft reissue is fully analog, and way cheaper than vintage. Excellent pedal.
Waza Craft FTW! 👌
Delay times can be longer with the Waza , which is important to me. Ya know o o o o o o o?
Loving my Behringer vintage delay. $20 well spent. Haters gonna hate.

Love this. Analog at times is better than digital.
Used mine since the early 80s - it’s still fantastic
I finally got around to buying new loops for my Copicat Mk IV after 3 decades of procrastination.

Great video! I’ve got an IG Ibanez DS9. Very similar pedal from what I’ve read. I only mess with short delays and it’s very warm and natural! 👍🏻
I'm right there with you, add a slap back delay on almost every track as far as I'm concerned!
I'm watching this on my CRT monitor. I'm valid.
This smart man knows what he is talking about :)
I have an AnaEcho from Mooer, it’s quite good and was pricy once I bought it and I didn’t know what to use it for, the slapback is right for me. 🙂
nice, slapback is the best effect for almost anything
Exactly groover Matt, there is magic in them MN3005 chippers.. more so than having the JRC4558D chip in a TS9.

Hmmm I have an MXR Carbon Copy but this Dm2 is news to me..I’m very interested in this now
Carbon copy is pretty solid
I had one. Didn't do much for me TBH so I sold it.

Might I recommend Black Sabbath Vol. 4, track 4 - “FX” because of course they saw the future and provided a sound demo.

Great video...how did you connect the pedal to your mixer?as a send return effect via aux ? Or mic into pedal and then to mixer channel? Thanks
Thanks! For this one it was just straight through the boss pedal and into the interface
@@fuzzcityrecords432 thanks. Appreciate the quick response. Greetings from the other side

The BBE Two timer is a very good alternative not many people know about.

Hey Matthew, have you ever played the TC Electronic Echobrain? Its a cheaper version of this pedal, i think you'd like it!
I have one. I like the sound but I don't think I know how to use it properly. Any advice on settings?
Thoughts on the new DM-101??? 😊😊😊

The berhinger vintage delay is a $30 clone. It sounds literally exactly the same. For those who just want the sound.
Add some more hiss to the audio next time.
Not a bad idea actually.... 🤔
The Joyo analog delay does all of this stuff for a lot less money.
