It is admirable that that gentleman resisted the pressure to destroy and build another ugly structure over this beautiful traditional house. Very interesting, reminds me of my maternal Grand-father's house. The hidden truth about these houses is that, these houses are built, using some cosmic power, which makes it Non-disturbe-able ie. we should never tamper with the houses Lentils etc. otherwise, it will have severe bar consequences to it. My Aunty, had tampered with the house by forcing my uncle to do modifications to the Ancient house, and the end result was, they both died in a car accident and within less than 5 - 7 years, the house was sold at throw-away price, along with precious Black-wood sealings & Black-wood Rice-silos etc.😔
Extremely pained to hear how fate cruelly brought a beautiful Mana to its sad end. They are irreplaceable and their worth is beyond measure. I too love these ancient edifices. There is something in them that inspires great respect and fathomless wonder. Can any stone mason of our times, ever recreate the magic and the extraordinary skill of the stone masons of a generation back, , who gave their all , to create these magnificent manas to chiselled perfection. If only we were proud of our heritage and received the support of our government to preserve and protect these archaeological wonders, we would be the richer for it. Instead of tearing down these ancient structures and selling them for a song, to make way for highway after stupid highway, .....when will we understand and appreciate the fact, that our state is different from the other states, because of these very Manas, which were designed in a special way to be in harmony with Kerala's matchless natural beauty. They are irreplaceable.

It is admirable that that gentleman resisted the pressure to destroy and build another ugly structure over this beautiful traditional house. While living in Kerala, I never felt how amazing our state is. Every time I go back, I make it a point to enjoy and learn more about our heritage

Very interesting, reminds me of my maternal Grand-father's house. The hidden truth about these houses is that, these houses are built, using some cosmic power, which makes it Non-disturbe-able ie. we should never tamper with the houses Lentils etc. otherwise, it will have severe bar consequences to it. My Aunty, had tampered with the house by forcing my uncle to do modifications to the Ancient house, and the end result was, they both died in a car accident and within less than 5 - 7 years, the house was sold at throw-away price, along with precious Black-wood sealings & Black-wood Rice-silos etc.😔
Extremely pained to hear how fate cruelly brought a beautiful Mana to its sad end.
They are irreplaceable and their worth is beyond measure.
I too love these ancient edifices. There is something in them that inspires great respect and fathomless wonder.
Can any stone mason of our times, ever recreate the magic and the extraordinary skill of the stone masons of a generation back, , who gave their all , to create these magnificent manas to chiselled perfection.
If only we were proud of our heritage and received the support of our government to preserve and protect these archaeological wonders, we would be the richer for it.
Instead of tearing down these ancient structures and selling them for a song, to make way for highway after stupid highway, .....when will we understand and appreciate the fact, that our state is different from the other states, because of these very Manas, which were designed in a special way to be in harmony with Kerala's matchless natural beauty.
