    As a trucker in the US, I can confidently say, Indian infra is better than what I see here. In terms of railways both freight & passenger, India has leapt ahead of the US, the dedicated freight corridor is an absolute marvel. Even the airports in the major cities are gorgeous. That being said, India still has a lot of catching up to do in other areas, but the coastal road project is impressive and will hopefully enhance the lives of the people of this marvelous city. thanks for posting.

  • @ksh19
    @ksh19 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +58

    Well I can see so many professional city planers in the comments bashing this project and saying it won't reduce the traffic congestion, adding lanes doesn't bring down the traffic but increases it.
    Just to let them know, Mumbai's main problem is that every truck/vehicle who needs to enter south Mumbai have to go through the entire city which increases the travel time by several folds and also the congestion. For city commuters there are 3 Metro lines available and many more under construction, there's mumbai local bus service
    so the government knows what they're doing

    • @AERYS.
      @AERYS. 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No they don't. The traffic is made predominantly by personal vehicles, not trucks. By adding more lanes, more people will be tempted to drive and not use public transportation. This will lead to more traffic than what was there initially. You don't know what you're talking about. Stop following the government blindly.

      @@harshmunhet_2001 It's not as easy as it seems. An example from my city: Many people commute to the next larger city by train because it is faster and more attractive than on the congested highway. The highway is currently being expanded. India has a population of 1.4 billion people and Mumbai has 30 million people.
      Fearing the number of cars would increase with increase in road capacity is paradoxical assumption.
      A city of that capacity requires this kind of infra to keep pace else it's current infra would collapse and lead to catastrophic disaster.
      More reasonable solution would be to increase number of satellite cities around metro cities in India.

      You are correct at some extent, but remember that India is currently focusing on industrialization. Govt simply does not care for anything unless we see a major change in traffic flow and reduce congestion. Also, along with roads, India is on its way to build 2nd largest metro network. Simply putting, transportation and connectivity is the priority. No one criticizes China on this, they have massive roads, massive rails, blocking coasts many times often. Thing is that countries focus on lifestyle ecosystem priorities after they become developed. We are no europe, India is very much populated. Maybe 100 years later we might have to rebuild the roads differently, but by that time we will have money.. And our focus will be on ecosystem the most..

    They took the sea view from people and gifted it to cars. The sea simply cannot be seen until the 10th storey at many places. It’s heartbreaking. This could have been done in the Center instead of the coast. Unfortunately that would have involved displacing illegal encroachers/ slums which are political vote banks so they sacrificed our coast
