I literally didn't even finish watching the Report. I went over to the site thinking this whole online academy was a neat idea, and started finding videos about the topics I need to study for my test next week (pity I only found out about the Academy today). It's 1:56am and I'm studying Biology on the web for free. THIS is what those visionaries imagined the Internet would be one day.
Studying & learning for 'visual learners' has become so much better with mainstream internet use and great videos like this. Thanks for simplifying something which is initially quite confusing:)
Got a 90% on my exam and you cut my study time in half providing me with more study time for other classes. Thanks for the download info as well. You are awesome and very much appreciated for the videos that you make. Thank you.
Super helpful video! I sat down to watch the cellular respiration series thinking that I would be cramming for my cell bio exam tomorrow but it turns out that I already knew the stuff,, i just needed a simple and clear expaination and this was it! I don't think many professors know how helpful it is (especially to adhd students like myselft) to just explain things in the simplest terms and expressions. I just love how concise and exact your lessons are. I know it can be good practice to have to use critical thinking skills to reach conclusions about topics like this but i find that style of teaching to be my weakness. anyways thanks a bunch for these great videos! If i wasn't a broke college student i would surely provide a great donation!
bro your videos make education easy to access now i don't have to spend hours trying to find a synopsis for my exam. Y'all really do deserve something special.
I might be one of the rare ones that isn't here for my midterm! I'm actually studying Biology at university and I tutor highschool students. I wanted an example for an introduction because I wasn't sure how to start... I might just make her watch this video, she won't need me anymore! you're amazing :)
Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos. I am taking an EMT course and have been memorizing all the information so I can pass the test but never really understanding how it works and after watching these videos it is all starting to make sense ^.^
I love this! This is such an amazing explanation. I've always struggled to understand these concepts and I have ADHD so it's especially difficult for me. But I love this teacher! I plan to watch every video I can! I just can't thank you enough! It's really going to help me with my future career plans. I haven't watched any videos with other teachers yet, so I can't say how well the others do at explaining things, but if I were a teacher I would want to be this good. And if I ever make enough money to do so, I will donate to this organization.
Sal, watching your Biology videos saves me a lot time and I actually understand all these subjects better. I'm sure I'll do good in my Biology finals tomorrow because of you. (:
this is excellent. One of the best videos on youtube. Thorough, precise, and enough detailed information to not only give us the main idea, but not too many stupid little fragments. Thank you so much. My honors bio teacher is 80 years old and doesn't have a clue what he is doing.
Thank goodness for this video! My biology teacher makes cellular respiration much more compicated than it needs to be. This video will save me on the test tomorrow!
I'm so happy i actually used his videos. I had my midterm today and professor added 3 essays and one of them were on this topic! and 50 multiple choice ... and some true and false.
Best video on Cellular Respiration 👏🏽 thank you! I finally understand it! For anyone to understand this start by 1. Understand the basic understanding of Enzymes for catalyzing the chemical reactions of life 2. Watch the amoeba sisters on this topic 3. Then come back to this video and everything makes sense 😂😂😂
I want to thank you for doing what your doing here its truely refreshing to see someone take the time to help everybody else out there it shows just how usefull the internet can be keep doing what your doing because it is more than appreciated
wow, i am half way through my Human Biology A level ( A.S) FOR THIS SEMESTER!. I was not aware of this page, it would of aided me greatly if I'd of known about it sooner! This video has been very helpful, i will continue to watch the videos that relate to my A level work. I give credit to the educator that derived this information Thumbs up to him. Thanks for posting these video's x
I find that watching videos like this is the happy medium of learning. (So is teaching in a class while writing on the board, if the teacher does it well, i think.) Reading from a textbook is energy-draining and difficult. Listening to a lecture can be boring and you can miss details. But listening *and* reading, looking at the notes and listening to the explanation, is like reading along to an audiobook; it makes a lot of sense, and doesn’t require that much strain or cause confusion. Thank you for all the help. I hope you know you’re a *literal blessing* to us all
THANK YOU!!!! I have been freaking out about the Krebs Cycle & u have made it easy to understand- u r a star!!!! Biochem exam tomorrow & feeling better now ;-)
hi, please dont give up, its hard to get your head around it at 1st. But with hard work you'll understand it bit by bit. I still only understand some of the concepts and ive been doing bio for one year now. We all are stil learning, some pick it up quicker than others, im one of those types that are not fast at understanding concepts. I have to put a hell of alot of time and effort into it. My point is keep at it, start from the very basics like the mitochondrea (atp power house) let me know if
This is so helpful. You are my hero. I love this. I am a visual learner and trying to learn this in Biology was near impossible. Thanks so much for making this.
Sal, you are definitely God-sent. Your work, dedication, and willingness to help others is awesome. there is not enough words in vocabulary to thank you. keep up the good work. you are amazing.
I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate this video and your work as a whole. It's extremely helpful and your explanations are easy to follow. thank you very much
I think you are amazing! The way you break things down to their most simplistic forms then go on from makes cellular respiration much easier to comprehend, thank you.
THANK YOU!!!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!! SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!! For breaking down the information in a manner that I can actually understand it!!!! Thank you for the subtitles too!!!! You're soooo awesome!!!!

Think of ATP as money. To start your business (glycolysis) you spent 2 dollars (2 ATPs) and at the end of the day made 4 dollars(4 ATPs) therefore you profited 2 dollars (a net of 2 ATPs)

i love your videos! they help me a lot!!! teachers don't care about explainig all these little details that make all the difference understanding such an interesting thing that students think it's boring (because of the way regular teachers teach these...)

May be u are rich enough to pay for each and every online helpful or useful videos. But many people arent. The more the number of viewers the uploader gets the money, so its fair.. If the video is nice and watchable then it is obvious it will have maximum viewers and the uploader get to earn money and the students who are hungry for knowledge gets to lear many new and interesting things.
you can find these videos in khan academy, just search it online cuz its there. its like lessons just like this video and it can vary to a lot of topics too.

38 ATP is how many ATP that is produced in the entire process from 1 glucose, but there are multiple steps that require ATP and only produce ATP under ideal conditions so the NET ATP is closer to 30 ATP. +叶靖宇 one molecule of glucose will produce 38 mol of ATP if the NADH produced is transported to the mitochondria via the malate shuttle but if it is transported to the mitochondria via the glycerophosphate shuttle, only 2 mol of ATP will be formed so the net production will be 36 instead of 38
