    One of the best sites I've found for our budgies! I started following this YT publisher during the recovery of my male keet "Gary" from a grave injury suffered when he was accidentally pinched in the cage opening and my wrist during regular feeding and maintenance. Having done this 1,000 times in their year and a half, one day he simply "zigged when he should have zagged" darting out after his mate and it happens in an instant! Happily, after several weeks of TLC and prednisone drops from the exotic bird clinic he and Miss Puff are again flying about the house, chasing each other, and filling the air with song! It cost me 5 times the price of a new bird but I would do it again and find it a bargain! When you see one these tiny creatures, your buddy in pain and crippled, hobbling around in circles, it rips your heart out! Miss Puff did not eat for 3 days when this happened! They come as a pair for life and there is truly something magical to these tiny jewels of Australia! TIP: to administer bird drops, carefully wrap him loosely in a paper towel (like a tiny mummy) so the meds don't slop out over his head and feathers when he shakes. He will protest, but its for the best and doesn't hurt him at all. Any spills go on the towel. Get it done and set him free back in the cage. I tried everything else that just made a mess but worse yet made it impossible to tell if he was getting the prescribed doses. Well past the danger zone, he is about 90% back to health. The vet did not expect he would survive but we knew he was out of the woods when he "flew again on Christmas day"! Short hops.. terrible landings.. but today, you wouldn't know it. WHEW! (to say the least) For a special treat, I give them a frosted mini-wheat in a clothes pin through the cage. They absolutely love them, simply crunching most of them to the bottom of the cage! I suppose a few grains are actually eaten tho. (only once or twice a week if they are especially good!) - also fresh celery and baby carrots seem to hold their interest but so far they have no time for fruits or those colored pellets. They will fly across the room for millet sprays held in my hand.. haha

    What type of grass mat is that? It seems way less wastefull then using news paper everyday. And is ot safe for them? Wouldn't it be dangerous if they chew on the plastic grass?

      Try getting them out using seeds then put them in a room with someone else to look after it while you clean the cage then use the seeds again to put it back into the cage

      If you can I recommend buying a bird carry on like what you would use to transport your bird to a vet put them in there and then clean your cage. Give them plenty of treats so it’s a positive experience too

    • @meeramenon2215
      @meeramenon2215 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Let them fly around the house while they do that clean the cage then leave food in the now clean cage and they will end up coming back eventually if they dont you can play budgie sounds and they’ll come this is only temporary until you tame them

    Dude my Canary is really annoying. Whatever we feed him he just spits them on the wall. This is not our house. We rented it and we shall deliver it clean. But my canary is soooo damn messy. And what's worse, is that he is sooooo afraid. Like we cant even touch his cage because he may have a heart attack.
